| Clara chose a table in the studying section of the library and sat down, pulling a couple books, a notebook, and writing utensils out of her bag. Her materials were notably muggle in nature, which she'd done intentionally. She was supposed to meet Elenore Clement here to study for their Global Citizenship class--a class she was finding to be quite interesting. She looked forward to their next one.
Their first class had been largely about historical magical practices and how they differed from modern ones, as well as the split between magical and non-magical worlds. As such, they were supposed to learn more about the differences between wizarding and muggle society.
Clara, having been raised in the muggle world for the first eleven years of her life, was a veritable expert on that side of things, but she was still figuring out the wizarding world. Elenore, raised among the pureblood elite, knew everything there was to know about the wizarding side, but had little exposure to the muggle world. Together, they figured they could make up the difference, and, hopefully, learn something new from each other.
Clara had arrived a few minutes before their scheduled meeting, as she had nothing else to do, and the library was basically her home anyway. She set up in a spot that would be visible when the other girl came in, and opened the textbook to skim over the relevant chapter before they started. |

| Global Citizenship had, in Elenore's mind, been quite an interesting class. Much more useful to a Clement than Defence Against the Dark Arts, for sure, and easily more usable than Divination. The Headmistress had a fierce hold on her class, but in all honesty, Elenore found that refreshing, and much more enjoyable than the nicey-nicey mannerisms of the other professors in the school.
When the homework had been brought forth, researching the world and how it differed between magical and Muggle households, Elenore knew she was going to be at a disadvantage here. The Palace was magical, without much hiding, either, so it was the only way she knew the world. A world without magic was not something that particularly made sense to Elenore, because France teetered on the edge of playing with the Statute of Secrecy.
The Muggle world was not something Elenore knew a great deal about, but she was not ignorant like many of her peers in the Pureblood world. However, Elenore would not reveal her hand too soon, after all, she did not wish to appear stupid when she worked with her partner that day. Clara Goldstein was not someone that Elenore had conversed with very much in her time at the school, but she wasn't someone Elenore didn't 'like'. She was just a Ravenclaw who hadn't, as of yet, caught Elenore's eye enough to make good friends with.
Heading in to the library, Elenore caught sight of the raven haired witch, and made her way across to the table, pushing a smile on to her lips in that moment. "Hello Clara," Elenore greeted softly, taking a seat opposite the witch after placing her bag down beside her. "How're you?" Elenore added, pulling out her notepad, and a quill and ink ready for their conversation.
After the pleasantries were done with, Elenore turned to the topic at hand. "So, we're to look at the differences between the Magical and Muggle world, I don't think going in to monologues about our own world would be the best use of time, so I think we should work through different practices with a note between the differences in the magical and muggle world. For example, the menial task of washing dishes in the magical world, as you know, can be completed with a household spell, but in the muggle world... there's a dishwasher." Elenore explained what she meant, with a basic example, to see if Clara agreed with this idea, after all, there was no point wasting any time. ________________________________________________

| Clara looked up as her classmate approached, and closed her book, setting it aside. "Hello," she replied as the older witch sat down across from her, beginning, as always, with the empty smalltalk that tended to accompany meetings between acquaintances. She knew how she was supposed to answer. "I am well. And yourself?"
The words were beginning to flow smoothly off her tongue, despite her distaste for the tradition. Once you do something enough, it becomes natural, and she had finally given up resisting the trivialities ingrained into society, recognizing that it was really no use. She may as well just get it over with as quickly as possible before moving on to their real purpose.
Clara nodded at the suggestion, appreciative of the older witch's practicality. She had been about to suggest something similar herself.
"I agree, although we'll need some sort of order to it. There is a lot to get through, and I don't think listing things randomly will get us very far. If we separate life into a few separate areas--home and family, transportation and communication, education, social norms, and the like--we can move through each category with relative efficiency."
She picked up a mechanical pencil, and flipped to an empty page in her notebook, looking up at Elenore for her opinion. |

| The question of her own well being made Elenore nod simply just once. "Fine, thank you." The Hufflepuff supplied with a small smile. She did not know Clara well enough to open up, and her reply had been enough to answer the question without more questions being asked.
With the Ravenclaw witch agreeing to Elenore's outline of an idea, the Hufflepuff witch was glad. There was, in her mind, no need to wage war over something as trivial as homework, but she was not going to be dictated to, that much was for sure. The idea of the structure, however, sounded like a very good idea in Elenore's mind. The headings worked very well, and the older witch wrote down the first that Clara had supplied.
Home and Family.
Now, that was an interesting topic, Elenore reflected as she looked at the words. Were there really that many stark contrasts in her world as their were in the Muggle world? "Okay, how about you start? Home and Family, in the Muggle world." Elenore prompted, looking to the Ravenclaw witch for her answer to that scenario. It would give Elenore time to shape her own answer, of course, which was something she needed when talking of family. ________________________________________________
