Daniel was born one rainy summer day in southern Alabama to two adoring parents. His elder sister was mildly jealous of the attention he was receiving, but she wisely kept herself from any outbursts. It didn't take long, however, for that sister to become enamored as well. He grew up surrounded by love.

Daniel discovered both his magic and his orientation at the age of 7. It wasn't all that hard to figure out, honestly. Of course, he hid the fact or his orientation--or so he thought--from his parents for years. His sister was 12 at the time, and kept talking about her friends and their boyfriends, at which point Dan decided he wanted a boyfriend too. The next day, during recess, Dan picked a boy he liked and asked if that boy would like to be his boyfriend. Disgusted, the boy shoved Dan away. In his hurt, Dan managed to make the boy fall down the slide he was standing near.

When Dan was nine, his paternal grandmother became terminally ill, and the family moved to London to be closer to her in her last days. So it was, that he received his Hogwarts letter the summer before his twelfth birthday.

Ana and Mike met at a comic convention in Chicago, Illinois and became fast friends. They agreed to become pen-pals when the convention ended, and wrote back and forth almost daily. Mike was fond of sending pictures with his thoughts scribbled on the back, and Ana kept every single one of them. They met again at the same convention the next year and began a long-distance relationship. Neither of their families thought it would work, but they were determined to try. As it turned out, Ana managed a flight out to Alabama a few months into the relationship. Being 18, she was officially an adult and found a job at a local book store in order to afford a small apartment.

Their love blossomed, and when Ana was twenty, Mike proposed. The wedding was a small affair, with only close friends and family, but neither wanted it any other way. Three years into their marriage (Ana was 24) they discovered they were expecting their first child. And five years after that they had their second. When Dan's magic was discovered, the family was shocked, but no less happy.
