Sweets was something that Apollonia rarely got to enjoy, keeping her figure had been her main focus really for the past few years but once in a while, her sweet tooth and craving for chocolate got the best of her so she found herself either looting around the cupboards at home or venturing into Honeydukes at Hogsmeade to get her required snacks for the weekend. There was a lot of sweets that Apollonia enjoyed and thankfully she had saved up quite a bit of money so she could splurge a little on those sweet cravings.

Stepping into the shop, Apollonia inhaled deeply as the mouthwatering scents of countless sweets and confectionary invaded her senses and pretty much gave her a sugar rush just from the smell. Taking a basket, the young woman happily hummed as she made her way through the aisles of the shop, picking a bit of every sweet and stuffing it in her basked - if it hadn't been for the lightweight charm on the thing, she had no doubt that the basket would've weighed a lot by now.

Stopping by the shelf with the 'Pick-a-mix' sweets, Apollonia went ahead and tried one of everything, either grimacing at the taste or humming happily if something took her fancy - there was just so many flavours that she was going to be there for a while then again it's not like she had any plans for the night after all.

It would just be her, some books and the sweets that she was buying now - she had no close female friends that she could hang around with so gorging herself on sweets was the next best thing for the woman.

PostSubject: Re: Sweets Can Cure Even The Worst of Symptoms (Mimosa)   Sweets Can Cure Even The Worst of Symptoms (Mimosa) EmptySat Feb 02, 2019 7:21 pm

While most third years were overjoyed at the prospect of seeing Hogsmeade for the first time, Mimosa couldn't understand what the excitement was all about. After all, she had been allowed out of the castle whenever she wished because Grandpa had made it so. And after visiting so many places around the world, Hogsmeade held little charm for the witch. The young brunette never required the post office because the internet was a thing, Butterbeer tasted like raw melted butter to the child because she had become sued to the specialized drinks of Versailles Palace and Honeydukes candy was... for sharing with her fiends at school.

The only thing that made Hogsmeade weekends special was when her Jacques decided to visit, and in that event, whatever place they went to hardly mattered. Even if he always took her somewhere much better than what the magical village had to offer. This time around, Mimosa had not planned to leave the castle because Jacques wasn't coming and Mercy was at the Hospital Wing again. She would just stay in and keep Squid Boy company since he really needed her around anyway and Mimosa was always super nice and helpful to her friends.

But then the first batch of students who had left after breakfast returned with some interesting news. Catherine had informed her that there was a stand selling American candy with Mimosa's face on it. Of course, teh child had done her fair share of modelling over the years but try as she might, she couldn't think when she had done a sweets promotion recently. So of course the only way to find out was to venture out herself.

Sneaking out wasn't really easy, one step into the great Hall and there would be a crowd around her. Unless... the idea sparked somewhat unexpectedly, making the twelve year old grin proudly at herself. She really was brilliant.

Now she had to go find a teacher...

The first one she ran into was the lady who had stolen her name. Mimosa had been mad at her for a minute, until the lady had redeemed herself by awarding Mimosa style points the child so richly deserved. Walking up to the grown up, Mimosa had expressed the wish to please be escorted to Honeydukes as she was scared to go alone and all her friends had already left. Professor Harrington blinked a few times but then smiled.

The two walked out of the castle unquestioned, and talk of Mimosa's own life, friends, Quidditch practice, favorite things, the palace and travels carried them to the little village. Having reached the sweet shop, the child thanked her professor and dashed indoors, forgetting all about the lady now that she had served her purpose.

But before she could search for her own poster on the rumored American sweets, the child's eyes landed on a redhead she was genuinely pleased to see. "Hey Loni!" she called out, waving to the with who had a sizable basket of candy in her arms. "Have you seen a picture of me here, with some American candy? Catherine and Constance said there was."

If there is one person that Apollonia had not expected to see in Hogsmeade, or Honeydukes in particularly, it was the cute third year Slytherin who had started calling her Loni as soon as Mimosa had gotten to know her. Mimosa hadn't seemed as if she would be joining her fellow Slytherin's in Hogsmeade -for one Jacques Clement was not there to visit the young girl and spoil her.

Yet, here she was, looking as cute as always, dressed in her best clothes and pretty much radiating happiness as she walked up to her, her voice a welcome distraction to the buzz of others in the shop.

"Mimosa." Apollonia smiled down at the younger girl as the girl questioned her about some pictures of her. In truth, she had not seen any sort of picture or poster of Mimosa but then again, she hadn't ventured any further into the shop yet, as she had been filling a handful of bags with the loose sweets to buy. "I have not had the chance to browse the rest of the shop yet." She replied kindly as she placed the full sweet bag into the basket. "We can go and have a look together if you want, I'm sure we'll find it."

Apollonia liked Mimosa enough to indulge her a little but should anyone recognize the Harrington child, Apollonia was so going to bail on her. She didn't want any questions thrown her way. Then again, Apollonia mused as she gazed at the younger witch, were Mimosa to flash her eyes at her, the Grecian female would no doubt stay.

PostSubject: Re: Sweets Can Cure Even The Worst of Symptoms (Mimosa)   Sweets Can Cure Even The Worst of Symptoms (Mimosa) EmptyWed Feb 06, 2019 11:49 am

As always, Loni greeted her with the nicest smile. Though too naive to understand sincerely in its truest form, Mimosa had always liked the oldest witch. Most especially because unlike other older witch's, Loni didn't just hang around the child when Mimosa's Jacques came to visit. In fact, the redhead almost disappeared when the oldest Clement was around, which set her out to be a one of a kind witch in Slytherin. Loni never pretended to be her friend because she actually was her friend.

"I have not had the chance to browse the rest of the shop yet. We can go and have a look together if you want, I'm sure we'll find it."

A small frown of confusion touched the young brunette's forehead. "Catherine and Constance said there was, let's go see," she urged, taking the older girl's free hand and leading her to the back of the shop. "And if you want more candy, I have some from the palace. Grandmere sent a fresh dozen batches of bonbons I'll never be able to finish." Everyone in the Slytherin common room knew where to get the finest sweets. The tons of owls carrying parcels for Mimosa every week were a good giveaway.

As they made their way to the back of the shop, Mimosa spotted what her friends must have been talking about. Indeed a small stand promoting something called Fizzle Rocks was stationed there, its contents all but empty. And above the shop display, there was a poster of a child holding up two Fizzle Rocks in a peace sign.

"That's not me..." Mimosa finally spoke, scrutinizing the picture. It was definitely meant to look like her. The model had the same hair and the same contact lenses that made her eyes so blue. But the facial features were... not the same. Below the image of the happy child with the Fizzle Rocks were the words "Enjoyed by Mimosa Harrington and her friends."

"Is that my name under there?' she asked the redhead, just to confirm that she was reading it correctly. The number of M's were a telltale sign.

Apollonia liked Mimosa and truly cared for the younger girl - and no, it wasn't due to the fact that Mimosa Harrington-Clement was a ward of the Clements and their, technically, adopted daughter but it was purely for the fact that Mimosa was a breath of fresh air in Slytherin. She wasn't the typical Slytherin either and it made life in the snake den a very fun experience. Despite the fact that she did like Mimosa, Apollonia almost never was around the young witch whenever Jacques Clement came to visit her and the reason for that was purely because she didn't want to deal with the Politics that surrounded the Clement heir. Being seen with him alone would be a cause for a nightmare - though should Mimosa ever ask her to be there when Jacques was to arrive then Apollonia would be hard pressed to think of a good enough excuse to not to. Mimosa's puppy-eyed looks would get her to cave within moments.

"...did they?" If there was a picture of Mimosa Harrington on the walls somewhere Apollonia had no doubt that the shop would've been packed full as it stood there was only the handful of people in there just browsing. Clearly, Catherine and Constance were mistaken on that front. She indulgently followed after the younger child, pointedly ignoring the looks that followed the two of them as they travelled further into the shop. "...French Bonbons? I'm down for that." Apollonia, sometimes, indulged in the handful of French sweets that were scattered around the common room whenever Mimosa felt that she couldn't eat them all.

"No, it's not." Apollonia agreed as she looked at the child who was, hundred per cent, not Mimosa Harrington. No-one should've been able to mistake that picture for one of Mimosa no matter what. The girl was a bit plainer looking than the child next to her. Yes, she had the same hair colour and eye colour but other than that Apollonia could easily spot the hundreds of differences between the picture and the girl next to her.

"Yes, that is your name Mimosa." Apollonia ruffled the other girl's hair. "But that picture is certainly not you. I think that Constance and Catherine made a terrible mistake, no?"

When Loni confirmed that it was indeed Mimosa's name underneath the picture of the witch that decidedly was not Mimosa, The child's small frown grew more pronounced. "I've never had Fizzly Rocks before, and they look gross,' Mimosa added, just to drive home the point that she could not be the one in the picture. Even though Loni already knew that, Mimosa found she had to repeat it nonetheless.

It was also somewhat unsettling that Catherine and Constance had taken this... uneven person to be Mimosa. Did she really look like this sometimes?

"Can we ask the shopkeeper to take it down? If this isn't me, then I can't have enjoyed the Fizzly Rocks with my friends. So it's a lie and people shouldn't tell lies!" The logic worked perfectly in her head. Someone was lying to people and telling erh this girl was Mimosa when Mimosa knew this wasn't Mimosa. So of course they had to have it taken down.

"Will you please come talk to the counter person with me, Loni?" When the older Slytherin nodded, Mimosa once again took her hand, leading her to the counter where a bored looking man sat, a mass of multi colored candy beads in front of him. From the looks of it, he was supposed to be making candy necklaces but at the moment, he seemed the least bit interested in his job.

"What can I do you for, gels?" he asked, his tone just as bored as his expression. His words also revealed that he was chewing gum, a habit Mimosa found herself wrinkling her nose at unconsciously.

Apollonia did not need the confirmation from the other girl that it was not her in the picture, it was clear to everyone that the girl was some random person who the manufactures of the poster picked to make her look like Mimosa. It was all in bad taste, truthfully, and the red-haired Slytherin couldn't help but frown in distase. The least the people who manufactured the sweets and made the post could do was actually ask Mimosa for the picture and even question her about the sweet and not just use her name and throw it onto that.

Another thing that Apollonia found quite upsetting had been the fact that Mimosa's friends, and she was using that term loosely right now, had mistaken the girl in the Poster as the third year Slytherin. They clearly needed their eyesight checked. That or to just stop hanging out with the cute Harrington that clearly did not need friends who mistook her for a random girl on a poster.

"Of course we can." Apollonia replied in the affirmative and let the younger girl lead her to the storefront where a fairly plain looking man was sitting, clearly not doing his job. Scrunching her nose up, Apollonia put on her best bitchy face, and it was fairly impressive, if she were to say so and gave the man a cool glare, her lips curling into a sneer.

"I'd like to request for you to remove that... offensive poster you have up in your store." She waved her hand towards said poster, her annoyed look clearly speaking a lot for what she wasn't saying. "The girl in that picture is not Mimosa Harrington and Mimosa certainly doesn't like Fizzly Rocks." Her tone was just dripping with politness.

"Sorry can't do so gal." The man retorted with a sneer, giving Apollonia a barely disguised once over. "And how would you know that is not Mimosa Harrington? You ever met the lass?"

Apollonia's lips pursed and she shot the man a poisonous glare, one hand going to her hip while the other moved to settle on Mimosa's shoulder. "Clearly you have as horrible of an eyesight as every person in this damn store. She is standing right next to me." She leant forward with bared teeth, eyes boring into the man's. "Remove that poster. Now."

The man turned his eyes to Mimosa and snorted. "This? This little whelp can't be Mimosa Harrington. She doesn't have the right coloring." The man turned back to Apollonia and gave her a bored stare. "So why don't you two gals just scuttle away from my store like the little girls you are, hmm?" The man paused and then delibretally took a long look at Apollonia.

"On the other hand... You know what girly, how about I make you a... deal... go out with me and I'll take the poster off." His leer made the fifth year Slytherin bristle in anger and disgust, her eyes narrowing and her hand twitching at her side. Oh how she wished that she knew more... damaging spells right now. The castration spell would've been useful right about now.

Gritting her teeth, Apollonia took a deep breath and decided to take a completly different approach. "How about no?" She snapped angrily, rising up to her full height and giving him such a foul look that the man looked taken aback. "Remove that poster, right now, or I will.. take drastic measures to do so myself. I'm sure that Lord and Lady Clement would love to know that their granddaughter's name is used... on such things that she doesn't even know off."

At that threat the man swallowed and Apollonia's keen eyes caught the small droplet of sweat that trailed down his forehead. Her lips slowly pulled into a smirk, teeth bared at the man in a threatening way.

She slowly leant forward, giving the man an eyeful of her cleaveage though when she slammed her hand on the counter he was very quick to look up into her frosty eyes.

"My eyes are up here." Her tone of voice was sickly sweet, just dripping with venom as she cooly stared at him. "Well?" She didn't need to clarify as the man had very quickly scurried out from behind the counter and pretty much dashed to the stand where he waved his wand and both the poster and stand were taken away, floating over to where Apollonia and Mimosa were standing.

Nodding her head in satisfaction, the red-haired Slytherin smiled politely and placed her basket on the counter. "I'd like to pay for these please."

"N-No need!" The man practically squeaked and waved, pushing the basket towards Apollonia. "Ju-Just take it!"

With a smirk Apollonia did so, flicking her hair over her shoulder. "Do make sure that you never put such things up in your shop again, hmm? I don't doubt that you wouldn't wish a visit from the Clements, hmm?" The Slytherin turned her back on the man and beamed at Mimosa, holding her hand out. "Shall we head back to the castle then? I think this is enough for today, don't you?"

PostSubject: Re: Sweets Can Cure Even The Worst of Symptoms (Mimosa)   Sweets Can Cure Even The Worst of Symptoms (Mimosa) EmptyTue Mar 05, 2019 1:17 pm

In the end, the matter was taken care of an an easier way than expected by a normal bystander. And seeing as Mimosa Harrington was anything but, it happened just as easily as she expected it to. The child didn't really have a plan when she asked Loni to help her approach the man at the cash register. She simply expected to tell him to take it down and for the man to comply like everyone did.

So when the redhead very politely asked him to fix his mistake, his refusal threw Mimosa off. Why... would someone not do soemthing they were told expressly by Loni acting in her interest? In fact,t eh child was so puzzled that she nearly missed everything that came after, catching just enough of Apollonia's subtle threats and masterful negotiation to know that the problem had indeed been taken care of.

The child heard her grandparents name used but wasn't entirely sure to what end, maybe Loni just wanted to talk about them? The important thing was that in under two minutes, the poster of the horrible girl pretending to be Mimosa was taken off and the Fizzly Rocks vanished to wherever. Loni had fixed everything just like her Jacques always fixed everything!

"Shall we head back to the castle then? I think this is enough for today, don't you?"

"Sure," the child smiled beatifically up at her friend, taking her hand once more to head out of the sweatshop, leaving a very befuddled, scared ego bruised shop assistant behind. he must have been wrong, Mimosa concluded much later when she was safely back in the castle.

The cash register guy hand't refused, he just hand't heard Loni properly. Boys did have a major problem with listening after all. But Mimosa was working on it!

PostSubject: Re: Sweets Can Cure Even The Worst of Symptoms (Mimosa)   Sweets Can Cure Even The Worst of Symptoms (Mimosa) EmptyTue Mar 05, 2019 8:25 pm

Apollonia had rarely gone off at people like that but the guy had just been giving her the creeps and clearly, he had no idea whom he was talking with - and no she was not talking about herself. She wasn't shy to admit that Mimosa's Clement connections worked well in these situations and even though the red-haired half-Greek witch was loath to even use her friend that way, sometimes needs must.

Had the guy not taken the stand and poster off then Apollonia would've, very easily, sent a swift letter to France with pictured proof if need be. She didn't know the Clement's personally but she had no doubt that the Lord and Lady Clement wouldn't have been pleased with their granddaughter's name used like that, on a trashy poster no less. Forget the man being paid a visit by them. He'd probably would have been run out of a job more like.

She couldn't find it within herself to care.

There were always more sweets shops that could take the place of Honeydukes after all. Though she would've mourned some of the more rare variety of sweets that the shop sold.

Smiling down at the red-headed child, Apollonia ignored the curl of satisfaction in the bottom of her belly but she certainly couldn't ignore the satisfied smirk on her lips that she saw in the reflection of the window. Whoever said that taking people down with mere words was more satisfying than with their wand certainly deserved a reward of some kind.

For that felt more than satisfying to the red-haired witch.

And as the two of them walked through Hogsmeade towards the castle, Apollonia keeping a vigilant eye out, the red-haired witch through that she'd have to do that again some other time. Tearing people down with words was certainly satisfying and quite amusing as well.

She giggled to herself and waved away Mimosa's curious look, leading the young girl back into the castle.
