| -Clink-, the ice in the sweaty glass shifted as it melted and shrank. The condensation droplets slid down the ignored glass to seep into the equally forgotten newspaper. The owner of both wore a troubled anxious frown. For all the attention he paid to the hustle and bustle around him, he might as well have been sitting alone rather than in a crowded pub full of students. His mouth moved but only because he was biting at the lower left inside of his lip. His blue eyes were out of focus unseeing while his thoughts occupied all of his attention. Despite it being weeks, the words of a certain Gryffindor kept going about his head as realization had sunk in. All those unfamiliar chaotic feelings and sensations that he'd been experiencing; he liked Karan. At least, according to Mercy. When he felt when around the girls was completely different than what he felt when he spent time with Karan.
The brooding Ravenclaw was brought out of his thoughts when he realized he wasn't alone anymore. Startled, he had naturally jerked his head backwards, the hand that had been resting atop the forgotten paper bumped his glass. Clumsily he tried to,catch it, but his movements were jerky. -Crash- the glass shattered sending the small left over ice cubes skittering. Heat crept up the teen's neck and he felt it in his cheeks which meant that his face was likely red which was even more embarrassing.
"Lucky that drink was on neither of us," was his dry comment to try and cover up how out of sorts he felt. Quickly he used his wand and vanished the mess.

| Hogsmeade, Maya found, had quickly lost its appeal after the third time of going down into the village. There was only so many times someone could be excited into going to the little village. It's not like there were any new shops popping up every week. Though she could understand why some people enjoyed it, it was a time to de-stress and forget about that week from hell that you had, or that argument you had with a friend but still, why be excited about it every single time?
She hadn't been planning on heading into Hogsmeade but then her last quill had broken and the ink that she had been using had ran out, not to mention her parchment had been ruined by an over-excitable cat that one of the new firsties had brought to Hogwarts. The kid had nearly cried until Maya had bopped him on the nose and reassured him that it was fine, just some parchment. Even if that parchment had been filled with notes from the past few lessons.
Stepping into the Three Broomsticks, Maya had initially been ready to just order out but then she spied Gaspard sat on all his lonesome in one of the booths and the Gryffindor witch had grinned and made a beeline for the Ravenclaw's booth. She slipped into the seat opposite him and she was amused to notice that he was so deep in thought he hadn't even noticed her.
"Hello," She chimed up only to bite her lip hard to hold back the urge to burst into giggles at his reaction to her. She really shouldn't have startled him though but it was just so funny seeing the Ravenclaw like that. "That's for sure, I don't think I would've enjoyed being soaked and having to trek all the way back to the school." Her amusement was probably clear to see on her face and definitely heard in her tone of voice. |

| If he were childish, Gaspard would have stuck his tongue out her, as it was he just shook his head. No, a trek back towards the castle in soaked sugary clothing would not be fun. Pushing the soggy paper aside, he wondered at the Gryffindor. She was a strange one even more so than the other one. It got him thinking of their first conversation at the end of the term when they were on the train back towards London. She had told him about getting a tattoo and he'd wondered even then why she would subject herself to something so...permanent.
Naturally, his curiosity had to be sated so he asked, "Did you get that tattoo you wanted?" Of course what would naturally follow that would be to know what it was exactly she wanted on her body forever and where. If the professors had the girl using something obscure the tattoo as to not give her housemates ideas was another stray thought. This direction of the conversation was much preferable over trying to dissect what he'd been trying to do for the past few weeks.
Another thought came to mind about something else they had talked about. He wondered how that had gone with small children tagging along. Unless they got left behind? That was something he could see. "And did you ever visit any of those castles that you wanted to?"

| Maya was quite amused, almost as if she knew what Gaspard wanted to do - not that she actually knew, she could guess but that was just it, a guess. Nothing more. Trekking back to the castle, soaking wet from the sugary drink would not only be quite disgusting but would, no doubt, attract any sort of animal that loved sugary things. Somehow, Maya had found a friend in Gaspard and the Gryffindor witch was, to tell the truth, a bit shocked really. Friendship never came easily to her.
At the question of her tattoo, Maya grinned happily and nodded her head. "I did! It hurt at first but I got used to it fairly quickly." The feel of a thousand needles poking her constantly had been a shock to her system and she'd moaned in pain the first few times the gun traced over the design but it quickly turned into more of a pleasant sensation when her brain wasn't focused on those tiny pinpricks. "Wanna see it?" She offered, absently reaching a hand behind herself to rub at her lower back, where the serpent was lazily curled in the middle of it.
At the mention of visiting castles, Maya lit up, nodding her head in answer to the question. "We did! I can't remember their names but we went away for about a week or so and visited a few of the castles and then took a trip to Swansea for a day to spend it at the seaside, the kids enjoyed it and I had fun. Brother Micheal also got tickets for an underwater tour so it was quite fun, seeing all these fishes and other sea creatures in their natural habitat."
"And you?" Maya leaned forward, resting her chin in the palm of her hand. "How did you spend your holiday?" |
