When the witch made no reply to his jab, Kevin nodded. Of course she was scared, it was written all over her face. And far from judge ehr for it, he wanted her to sue that fear to propel herself forwards. But she had to be ready to do that on her own.
"Well kiddo," he began, trying to level with her. 'The way I see it, you can wait another year to try whatever methods you've been trying," And having great success with, he left unspoken in the air. "Or you can take a leap of faith, and give my method a try. Either way I'll be at the cafe opposite your building at eight tomorrow. If you don't come... Well, you have your piano."
The last dig was indeed a subtle one, to remind her of her own words. If she didn't get out, her piano would remain ehr only comfort, an that was not acceptable. Then, a moment, later, his voice grew softer, more reassuring.
"Nothing bad's going to happen to you... I promise."
As the conversation moved on to photos, the wizard let out a laugh. If only she knew. But now was probably not the time to tell ehr, lest she be even more scared. "Who knows, you might grow to like our picture taken, it'll be a shame otherwise,' she affected seriously, not mentioning that he would now make it his mission to take candid shots of her. Not just for her or himself but because watching her unfiltered, capturing her as she was, it was an art form well deserving of the trade.
"For now, what do you say we get dinner? There's a sushi place nearby that's half decent."
