Creatures or Myth (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Creatures or Myth (Open)   Creatures or Myth (Open) EmptyMon May 04, 2015 10:01 am

Emilia pulled her robes tightly around her as she stood on the edge of the shoreline, looking across the lake. She'd been warned by some older kids to not swim in it unless she wanted to be attacked by merpeople or the squid. She wasn't one for swimming anyways, it was far too much work for her, though, as she looked, she saw no signs of life. She wondered if they had actually told her the truth, though it wasn't like she was one to test it out. That would be a Gryffindor's job. Her job, was to merely stand here and stare, enjoying the peace and serenity that came with water.

She allowed her mind to wonder back to her place of birth. Lyons. She missed it, the awfully rude, yet caring people, the smell of baguettes filling the streets and the sounds of tourists and their cameras snapping away. Most people hated tourists, which was why the French came off as rude to people, however, she actually loved tourists. She thought they were rather cute, with their striped shirts, cameras and berets. It was an honour to her to live someplace that people wanted to visit and capture their moments. She was homesick, yes, but she'd make the most of her years at Hogwarts and she'd grow to love England, and she'd visit France when her parents did and she'd. She'd overcome and adapt and move back when she's a legal adult.

Creatures or Myth (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Creatures or Myth (Open)   Creatures or Myth (Open) EmptySun May 10, 2015 5:42 pm

Hogwarts was the biggest waste of time that Jacques had ever encountered. It was ridiculous, almost everyone was barbaric in some form of the word. As of yet, Jacques had not spoken to anyone except for the professors when he'd had to in lessons. Why? Because he didn't deal with idiots, and he felt like he was surrounded by them.

That morning one of the family owls had come with a letter from his mother and sister. His mother missed him, which was simply a standard from his mother who had always been overly invested in her children, and wanted to know that he was happy and healthy at the school. His sister had said that she missed him, that Jacques didn't believe, and had sent him a full explanation of everything she had been doing recently. Jacques didn't find much of it interesting, if he was brutally honest, but that was family.

Heading down towards the lake, Jacques made his way to the nearest shore.

Taking a seat a short way away from a girl already there, ready to ignore her too. Jacques wasn't lonely, he'd never been the kind to grow lonely, but he did grow bored, and it was growing increasingly difficult for him at the school where he didn't feel he belonged.

The boy that sat near to her gave no warning he was even near which made her practically jump out of her skin, but at a glance of his robes, it told her all she needed to know. Slytherin. It seemed as all the Slytherins were sneaky and mean and it made her sad. She wasn't sure how some people could be so heartless and intent on gaining power, but she didn't care to understand. It was not her and it was not her business. He didn't speak and she was glad for that, as it wasn't like her to speak to people she didn't know. Though, she hoped he didn't expect her to speak because she wasn't one to initiate conversation either.

She couldn't help but give him small sideways glances. She didn't recognize him from any of her classes, but he definitely wasn't older than her meaning he must have a different timetable than she had, which was understandable. Hogwarts was huge, they couldn't possibly manage to put everyone into the same classes at the same times. He was a great looking boy, but Emilia would never date him or want to date him. Actually, more like someone like him. He was cute and she'd love to date a cute boy, but not a cute Slytherin boy They would bring her trouble and she wasn't ready for trouble. As far as she knew, boys still had cooties anyways.

Didn't he know that it was rude to sit down by a pretty girl like herself and not introduce your presence or say a mere hi? He probably did, but he just didn't care. She was grateful that her parents raised her to be respectful and caring. It made her who she was and it made her loved. She could probably have tons of friends if she were a social butterfly, but she wasn't. She was nice, which was a great quality to have, but anti-social which outweighed the good.

Creatures or Myth (Open) Empty

Jacques was quite happy looking across the lake, watching the small ripples in the surface of the otherwise perfect picture and musing to himself on what they could be. Merpeople, perhaps? The Giant Squid? Perhaps it was merely fish, or the gentle breeze that caused it, but the real answer the Clement didn't know.

But through his silent musings on the lakes movement, Jacques was aware that the witch who had been there before him kept looking at him. She didn't speak, she just kept looking at him as if he were some kind of spectacle. Whilst attention was never something Jacques minded, he didn't like it when there was no reason for the attention.

His expression, therefore, soured a little, giving the witch a few more moments to get over the fascination with him. But as it didn't show signs of stopping, Jacques eyes turned to the witch, taking her in with little and less interest. "Savez-vous pas qu'il est impoli de regarder." He growled towards the witch, before his eyes moved back to the lake. He was aware he'd slipped back in to his first language, but he didn't bother to translate for her. Nobody here was worth translating to.

Translations:
"Savez-vous pas qu'il est impoli de regarder." - Don't you know it's rude to stare.

She watched as her expression changed a bit and he growled out words. However, they were not English and she grew a hint of excitement from hearing her native language. Most people, probably would've shut up and left, but she wasn't like that. She preferred to stand up to her problems and she figured, if he could be befriended, then maybe he'd be a good friend. "Savez-vous pas qu'il est impoli de ne pas vous présenter," she retorted, her voice soft, unlike his. Chances are, he would be shocked that she was French or he wouldn't care.

Finally, she turned her attention away from him, looking back out over the lake. Maybe he wouldn't be a good friend, maybe she should choose who she entangled herself with more carefully. She hugged her knees and sighed internally. She never imagined making friends to be so hard and she never imagined to actually meet someone she disliked, even temporarily.

When she got back to her dorm, she'd be sure to write to her mother and sister and tell them about her first week. She'd tell them about the French boy and her classes and the lake. She couldn't wait for her sister to get here with her, at least she'd have someone she knew. She suddenly regretted turning down the older girl's offer that day in the ice cream shop. She'd probably have a multitude of friends, or acquaintances rather. Chances are they wouldn't be real friends, but maybe there was hope for Finley. Finley. She hadn't seen him yet and she missed him, despite meeting him once.

Translation:
"Savez-vous pas qu'il est impoli de ne pas vous présenter." - Don't you know it's rude to not introduce yourself.

As another ripple ran across the lake, Jacques couldn't help but scowl a little as the girl spoke to him. Spoke to him in his language. Surprise wasn't the emotion that touched the Clement heir's features in that moment, oh no, it was annoyance. How dare she call him out on being rude? If she spoke French - and was possibly French, then she would know who he was.

After all, the Clements were the most powerful family in all of France. They reigned France, and had for many years. Even the Muggles knew of his family, through a multitude of reasons.

Which meant she either pretended not to know him, or was an ignorant fool.

Both answers were possible, and both answer made the boy like her less. "Si vous êtes vraiment français, vous savez qui je suis. Mais , si vous ne le faites pas, cela signifie que vous n'êtes pas vraiment français. Mon nom est Jacques. Jacques Clément." He responded to the witch, his eyes moving to meet her face to see if there would be any recognition in the name.

Translation:
"Si vous êtes vraiment français, vous savez qui je suis. Mais, si vous ne le faites pas, cela signifie que vous n'êtes pas vraiment français. Mon nom est Jacques. Jacques Clément." - If you're really French, you would know who I am. But, if you do not, that means you are not really French. My name is Jacques. Jacques Clement.

Clement.

The name sounded familiar and with a little bit of thinking, she remembered reading about it. It began to make sense about his arrogant like attitude, especially if he really was a part of the highly powerful family. The French had the Clement family to thank for the new France because before, before it was just horrible, however when the Clements came in they overthrew France and turned it around. She had learned about it while she was still attending her little Muggle school in France, she also remembered learning about the French Revolution and believed they went hand in hand.

Had he expected her to just automatically recognise him or something, because it didn't work like that. She couldn't automatically look at him and suddenly know he was a Clement. She could say something about it, but now that she knew, she thought it'd be better to choose her words more wisely around someone that had so much power. "Emilie Delacroix et ma famille est une partie du ministère." She knew she was annoying him, but she didn't care, in her opinion, he seemed to be annoyed very esasily meaning he wasn't good company anyways. She knew it was nothing compared to the amount of power he held, but she figured he should be familiar with the Ministry workers. Her father was highly important to the Ministry, so important, he was unable to tell her what exactly it was that he did.

A thought popped into her head and it almost terrified her. If he was truly a Clement, the he would eventually inherit the power and Merlin, what would come of France. She really hoped he had a personality and attitude change before taking the reigns of the beautiful country because she would hate for it to downspiral or even become a dictatorship.

Translation:
"Emilie Delacroix et ma famille est une partie du ministère." - Emilia Delacroix and my family is a part of the Ministry.

The response from the witch made Jacques snort a little. Did she think that somehow matched what he'd just said? A ministry job wasn't anything important, his father had one as a hobby, which showed just how much effort you needed to put in to get in to a 'high ranking' job.

No, Jacques thought little and less about the Ministry. Servants to the world, he called it. His father would obviously disagree, but then his father had always been a do-gooder.

"Good for you." Jacques replied to the witch, slipping back in to Englih easily because his family did it all the time. His tone showed how much he cared about her, or her family's work. Which was not at all. "Now, if you don't mind." He continued, and waved his hand at her in a manner that insisted she went away.

Talking, as Jacques had already worked out - and now confirmed, was a waste of time in this establishment. Nobody was worth talking to.
