Surprises and Snow (Layla) Empty
PostSubject: Surprises and Snow (Layla)   Surprises and Snow (Layla) EmptyMon Oct 05, 2015 12:32 am

Dressed in jeans and several shirts and a sweatshirt sporting Gryffindor colors, Ethan was outside making his way down to the forbidden forest so he could meet Layla for Christmas before he had to go home for the holiday.

Ethan had been to hogsmeade recently for Christmas. He had sent Layla an owl, telling her to meet him on the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Not to far in to where it was dangerous but just far enough to keep himself hidden. He was kicking around some snow while he waited for the young Gryffindor to arrive.

It had been a couple of months since he had found her in the Music and dance room, and everything seemed to be going just fine. No one to his knowledge had found out about the two of them. And he hadn't received a howler from his family yet so he was in the clear as far as he was concerned.

He had gone to Hogsmeade to get Layla some kind of gift for Christmas. he had originally thought of some kind of Jewelry but thought of that as too simple. He wanted something that would make her smile and kind of relax too, because in all honesty he thought she worried way too much for her own good. so in his pocket sat a small package, wrapped up in his scarf. He would give that to her because his brother had advised him to do so.

Ethan had been thrilled to be on Christmas season but also saddened because half of his seventh year was almost over, and before he knew it the Exams would be upon him in no time. He would have to leave soon and he didn't want to. He had no clue of what he was going to do and he was pretty sure that his parents weren't going to support him in the long run like he had imagined in the past. He would probably just become an auror or something of the like. If he could make the grade, of course.

He had made some snowballs while thinking this all over and was now levitating them one by one to see if they would hold. Smiling as they did, he waited for the young Gryffindor so he could ambush her as she approached.

Layla wore a pair of black jeans donned with a red sweater, her long hair was tied to the side in a braid and a red beanie was placed over. Her fingers played with the tassled ends on her fraying Gryffindor scarf that was wrapped around her neck.

Her heart beat as hard as it always did whenever she was to meet Ethan even despite having dated him since the beginning of this term. Now the term was close to halfway done as Christmas had come meaning they'd been together secretly for a good three months. She had been worried that dating Ethan would cause one of them to change, but it never did. Ethan was the same as he'd been, supportive, caring and sweet and Layla couldn't be happier.

When she'd received the owl telling her to meet him near the Forbidden Forest, she felt a bit anxious. She knew they could get in trouble, but if they stayed on the outskirts they should be fine. She knew he just wanted to be out of sight. However also with the meeting came the realisation that it would be the last time she'd see him before Christmas vacation and it saddened her a bit.

Earlier in the week, she'd been able to take a Hogsmeade trip to buy Ethan a present, one that she thought he would really enjoy. Holding the sort of small box in her hands, she studied the gold wrapping paper and the red bow one last time before tucking it away in her bag and heading to the Forest. It was hard to pick out a gift for him, especially since the only thing he seemed to like was Quidditch but she had done it and she was quite proud of her choice.

Shoving her hands in her pockets, the girl trudged out onto the ground, the white blanket of snow practically engulfing her. She smiled a bit, falling back to make a snow angel before standing once more and making a snow ball. As she walked, she rolled the ball in her hands, her fingers turning red from the cold until finally, she couldn't feel them anymore. She was nervous yes, but more so, she was excited. She couldn't wait to finally be back in her boyfriend's arms even though it hadn't been long since she last saw him.

As she entered the outskirts of the forest, she looked around for him, finally deciding to just call out to him. "Ethan?" Her voice was somewhere between a whisper and a shout.

Ethan had no idea who was going when he heard the crunching of snow. He didn't want to risk it not being Layla, so he plastered himself against the tree he was propped up against. hoping it was Layla and not someone else. But as she called out, he instantly relaxed, his heart rate slowing down a little. Opening his eyes again, that he didn't even realized he had closed, he spotted his snowballs. He levitated one of them and peeked around his tree trunk. She was a couple of places away, he chuckled softly and threw it gently at her side.

Laughing he stepped out and chuckled, before throwing a second at her without magic. He loved the little moments like these to where it was just the two of them with no one out and about to judge or criticize them in anything and everything they were and had been doing. They could joke around, or do whatever pleased them without the prying eyes of others and he enjoyed that.

Things hadn't been that different between the two except for the fact that he could now call Layla his girlfriend. To Ethan this was one of his many feats to the world because he had never imagined himself with anyone to begin with. He thought everyone would consider him like his parents, snooty and stuck up. Layla hadn't treated him that way and he was glad for that. She made him feel like there was no difference between the two of them, and they were still the same people they had originally met.

"Glad you made it!" He called out cheerfully. He chunked his last snowball in her direction, but it had missed unlike the others. "Ah, well. Bound to miss at some point." He put his hands in his pockets when his mind drifted back to the package wrapped up in his scarf. He smiled slightly at the little thing that he had charmed by the shopkeeper, and was very pleased with himself. He had convinced his brother to take a picture of the two of them without slipping the fact that they were nothing more than just friends on the matter. So he had gotten the picture, and it was one of them together laughing at something, he wasn't sure, but it sat in the scarf. But on top of that there was a little Koala bear that was kind of like a little doll, but was charmed to move and act like a real one.

He was pleased with the shopkeepers work and was glad that it had turned out so well. he engulfed her in a warm bear hug when he had gotten close enough. Releasing her, he pulled out his scarf. "For you, Madame." He said in a terrible French accent. He was excited to see her reaction for his gift to her. He had wanted it to be special, and he had hoped he had been successful in that department.

It was weird for Ethan to not be there, especially since his footprints were there. Had he left her? Stood her up? She frowned a bit before being pelted by a snowball. Looking up, a huge smile came to her face as she saw his head behind a tree. "Ethan!" The girl began to run towards him as he stepped out from behind the tree, however, she was quickly pelted with another snowball. Instead of being angry, she found herself laughing, enjoying their time together. "I thought you stood me up," she said quietly as she umped into his arms.

The girl's tiny arms were wrapped around his neck and her legs around his waist in the sweetest, most comforting hug she'd ever given. Being with Ethan was the best thing ever. Remembering the snowball she'd carried with her, she dropped it down the back of his shirt. Giggling, she gave him a little peck on the cheek before letting go and dropping to the snow.

Layla was excited for Christmas, but she wasn't as excited for having to go on holiday with her parents and leave Ethan, however maybe he could come visit. She'd love to show him Australia and she was certain he'd enjoy swimming at the beach over Christmas break as opposed to building snowmen. She'd certainly have to figure out a way to mention it to him knowing her parents wouldn't care but his most likely would.

"Wouldn't miss a chance to be with you for anything in this world," she said, her cheeks a bright red from the cold. She ducked when he threw once again another snowball in her direction, however, this one missed. She laughed a bit as he put his hands in his pockets. It almost seemed as though he was nervous or thinking about something else, but Layla didn't know what. Mimicking his movements, she thought about the present in her bag. It held a golden ring, one that had a golden snitch engraved on the inside and engraved in the inside was "There is none other but you." -Layla. Also, she had their picture framed, ne from recently. It was a photo of them hugging that she had told her friend to capture, but somehow, she'd merely convinced her friend that there was nothing going on between her and Ethan.

At the sight of the box he was pushing into her hands, she started to protest but then remembered that she too had a present for him. "Thank you so much," she smiled, pulling out her own present, "this is for you." When she opened her gift, her heart melted and her eyes lit up. "Ethan! It's so amazing," she looked up at his, "Koala's are my favourite animals!" She gave him a hug and thought about home. The girl was so excited to have something so small and lifelike to remind her of Ethan and home.

Ethan was glad for their time together, but they also respected each other's time alone with what they wanted to do. It was great, there was no way he would say anything different. He caught her sentence, just barely as she jumped. he wrapped his arms around her, returning the hug while whispering into her ear, "I would never, stand you up." Before he could say anything else that was on his mind, Ethan felt something very cold go down his back, causing him to spaz out a litte after she had pecked his cheek and jumped down. He shook the now crumpled snowball out of his shirt.

A grin played at his lips. There was no way he could ever really be mad at her. Waiting for her to open his package was like waiting for summer break at the start of term feast. His smile only grew as she told him it was wonderful. Glad that she had liked it, he reluctantly took the package that pushed into his hands. He had guessed that since he had gotten her something, that it was only fair that she had gotten him something as well.

Upon opening it up, he smiled instantly. He picked up what his eyes had caught first, and that was a gleam in the box. It was a golden ring with the snitch engraved, turning it in his fingers, he read the words on the inside. "Wow, Layla. This is great!" He exclaimed putting it on his finger, it fit perfectly, and didn't look to bad either. Grining he picked up the framed picture. It was great, and he was glad to have something that only they knew about, like the message on the inside of the ring.

When she hugged him, he wrapped his arms around her. "Thank you, i love it." He said before releasing her. He bent down and scooped a handful of snow up, flinging it in her direction. "However, that was for the snowball down my shirt." he chuckled, standing back up.

PostSubject: Re: Surprises and Snow (Layla)   Surprises and Snow (Layla) EmptyTue Oct 27, 2015 7:33 pm

His whisper caused her to giggle, not because of the words but because of the feeling. It caused her spine to feel as though butterflies were flying around it and the whisper tickled a bit. It was odd and she liked it and she knew that she was no longer a little girl but it was still hard to accept for some reason. She was grateful to have someone like Ethan, someone who promised her the world and gave nothing less than promised. However, soon she found herself laughing as she felt his body move beneath her, an obvious reaction to the snowball down his shirt.

He was cute, but Layla thought he was even cuter when he smiled. She could tell he was pleased to see her so excited with the gift he'd chosen and she felt the same. She placed the picture from him in her bag and then started to place the koala there as well but paused. "Ethan, it's not real right? I mean, it won't die from being in my bag?" The last thing she'd want to do was ruin the gift he'd gotten her, especially since she was sure it was hard to either find or make, whichever he'd done.

She was ecstatic to see that the ring fit him perfectly and it actually adorned his features perfectly. "I'm glad you like it," she blushed, her fingers playing with the edge of her scarf as she spoke. It seems to her that two great minds really did share the same brain wave capacities. Or at least it seemed so as they had both given each other a completely off guard picture of the two together. It was funny how people managed to plan things that way.

His hug warmed her more than her winter clothing had been doing. It was such a natural feeling, one that no matter how long they'd been together she could never get used to. The next thing she knew, snow was flinging in her direction, splattering across her chest and her face causing her to shiver. Giggling, she smiled. "I guess I deserved it."
