Personality

Likes:
Fire- Anything with a spark or flame catches his interest, it isn't far out there to see him either playing with matches or a lighter.

Quidditch- He grew up playing the rough and tumble sport, being born into the wizard world and playing normally as a Chaser; though he can play as a Keeper if needed. It was a great way to relax and have a good time, at least to him.

Potions- He always liked working over a burning, bubbling cauldron. Maybe it was the subtle art of crafting life or death?

Dragons- Gabriel found a sort of link from himself to the great fire breathers, he's always wanted to work with them either as a Dragon Handler, Tamer or Hunter.

Spicy Food- Anything that has a bit of bite or burn, he enjoys very much.

Dislikes:
Pink- The bloody colour always made him sick to his stomach, it was just to bright.

Cold Weather- Gabriel hates the snow, freezing rain...basically anything below 40F he loathes, tolerating anything between 40F to 70F.

Pureblood extremists- They caused most of the issues within the last few centuries, so he goes out of his way to exclude himself from most Pureblood events.

Books- Most of the time he doesn't much like reading, unless for class or it's about dragons. Paper is meant for tender, which is fuel for fire.

Strengths:
Guitar- It was one of the few things that caught his interest aside from training or Quidditch. He normally likes to play rock music, playing the acoustic easily without much effort.

Charms- He normally catches on pretty quickly in most forms of Charms, liking things that would help him more in life or death situations than anything. Accio, Patronus, and the like.

Quidditch- While Gabriel isn't the best flyer on a broom, he is a really great player normally very sporty, confident and friendly on the field; never has he cheated a day in his Quidditch Career.

Strength- Gabriel might not look it, but he is rather strong and with this strength comes some endurance. He can bench well over 140lbs, which is around thirty pounds over his own weight level.

Smithing- Before his father passed on, Gabriel learned the basics of Smithing or Metal Working as was passed from father to son and so on. He doesn't smith often but when he does it's normally swords or daggers, using the tools of his ancestors.

Weaknesses:
Water- Anything that is overly wet he doesn't much care for, so swimming or being caught in the rain is a huge NO for him.

DADA- He isn't very good at offensive spells, much more suited for hand to hand and defensive magic.

Family- With only his Mother and older sister alive, he cares deeply for them both; to the point he'd do pretty much anything to insure their safety.

Tomboys- He can't really explain it but he has a weakness for the rough and tumble type, maybe because they aren't as afraid of fire.

Positive traits:
Kindness- He's normally very kind to his friends and family, going out of his way to keep them happy.

Easygoing- It really does take a lot to get Gabriel worked up, he likes to think of life as one big game. No use flipping the board if you draw a bad card right?

Tough- Gabriel's got thick skin, he can take a punch or two and doesn't even mind getting burned at this point in his life. While he won't go out of his way to jump into a Dangerous Situation, he won't run from it either.

Honest- Almost to the point of brutality, if you look like someone rolled you in neon paint and glitter, when all you're wearing is make up; he'll tell you.

Negative traits:
Disobedient- He likes to learn the rules, so that he can break them easier or even in style. He likes walking the grounds past curfew sue him.

Impulsive- Gabriel always goes on a gut feeling, this has caused some issues in the past but it has also caused a lot of interesting situations.

Sneaky- He tends to slip in and out of situations, making him rather enigmatic to those he doesn't know first hand or makes contact with. You normally have to listen hard to find his footsteps as he light feet.

Childish- He enjoys playing tricks and pranks on others, not necessarily for harming or pain but just a little fun. Hair dye in someone's shampoo, Tape in the door frame, Glue on someones quill or even a really good sticking charm on a door nob.

Background

Gabriel is the youngest child of two, his Older Sister is kind of a role model for him and he looks up to her a lot. When his Father passed on from an Illness, at the age of Nine he took it upon himself to become a man; even if he still acts a little childish.

He found out about his ability when he was around five, he was attracted to the candles flame and decided it would be a fun toy. Other than receiving some small burns, it was a fun game that he continued to play. His time at Hogwarts was fairly average, he makes rather well marks and is expected to get at least two O's and mostly E's on his OWLs.

Family Background

The MacKay family is a rather old family, though it could be called that of lower standards of blood quality, it is quality all the same. Most of the family is what you'd call average for wizard folk, no one having made an important marking in the texts for ages and even then it was rather small. They always prided themselves on being Magical Smiths, though in this last century their skill had not been needed but was taught all the same.

Wandless Fire Magic- Gabriel is able to control Fire without the use of a wand, however the flames must be small and natural. Anything larger than say a match book, he looses control and burns himself though he's slowly getting better at it. Natural fire means anything not created through the use of magic, as his magic will react to someone else's and cause the fire to basically explode. Because of his Natural ability with Fire, Water is always chaotic around him and he can barely preform the simplest of Water spells with a wand, likely why he never bothers.

When he was alive, Mathew was one of the hardest workers you'd lay your eyes on. Not only did he keep the family forge in brilliant shape but he also found the time to teach or play with his two children. He was very protective of Cat, not letting her get even close to the forge out of fear she'd burn herself.

He didn't have the same problem with his Son, Gabriel who wasn't afraid of a little burn or torch. Though the kid might have been young when he first took the hammer off the rack, the Father was always watching with pride.

When Diana was a girl, she was very active in athletics and gymnastic ordeals making her a very nimble person. During her time at Hogwarts in the eighties she was a prankster and enjoyed every minute of it, even in detention. Though she was serious about two things. Quidditch and Charms, now she is widely known as a Reporter for the Holyhead Harpies. She did play as a Keeper during her time at Hogwarts, using her gymnastics to glide through the hoops with ease.

Now that she is a single mother of her two children, she tends to dot on them and act like a mother hen. Though she knows exactly where Gabriel get's his disposition for pranking it doesn't mean she supports it. Cat though is a different story, she knows exactly how the girls mind works and she doesn't get everything she wants.

Cat was always treated with gloves or that she'd break with a single touch, what her father didn't know is she often sneaked into the Forgery at night and would experiment with the anvil before placing everything back in it's proper place and retiring to bed. She became rather gifted in the simple art of crafting arrowheads, and soon she was making her own arrows and then bows.

She hated heights or she'd likely play Quidditch as a Beater but hitting the target at an archery range was much more satisfying anyway. She did like Potions class at school, easily learning the fundamentals and going around experimenting with her own supplies
Now on the other hand she is much more interested in Alchemy and has already sealed the deal with an Alchemy researcher for her to become his apprentice.

Being seven when her brother was born, she was often left to take care of him and watch out for him until she had to go off to Hogwarts then Mathew looks after him on the days and when his training as a Blacksmith began. She is also in a serious relationship with an American Quadpod player, they met via the penpal program and didn't stop writing.

His name is Charlie Bates, he's only a year and half older than her but they didn't really care. Both of them have been over the pond to visit the other, and would calmly refer to themselves as an Item. Charlie has even decided to live in England full time, aiming to transfer from the American Quadpod team to the U.K. Team.
