As the only young girl in the Cassan household, Adelaide grew up more interested in sports and exploring the outdoors than in staying indoors and playing with dolls. It was fortunate how the Cassans weren't a conservative lot—though they wished Adelaide would also have some 'feminine' activities, they were just glad to know that their daughter was healthy and happy, and that she too had the Cassan warrior spirit.
Before Hogwarts, Adelaide's childhood consisted of being taught theories of magic by her parents, playing sports with her brothers and travelling around the world since her parents liked getting to know other cultures. It was because of this that Adelaide developed a love for history, archaeology and dragons, and ever since seeing some dragons from afar in Eastern Europe and China, she had always wanted to study them and become a dragon trainer. If she had a choice, she would've skipped Hogwarts entirely in order to apprentice herself to a dragonologist.
Unlike most halfbloods and purebloods, she wasn't excited to receive the letter from Hogwarts. In fact, she was filled with dread upon reading it, a feeling she normally did not experience since her family valued fearlessness. As a good daughter would, though, she followed her parents' wishes and studied in Hogwarts, where she was sorted into Gryffindor and given the opportunity to expand her horizons.

The Cassan family are descendants of Norman warriors who moved to Ireland many centuries ago. They are of Germanic and Italian origin, and are known for their bravery and loyalty to their friends. Today, Cassan wizards and witches protect others by working in mostly law enforcement (such as law, Auror work, etc). Michael Cassan also owns a few pubs both in the muggle and wizarding world, as he was taught business and trade skills by Helena Sozzini's parents.
The Sozzinis are a pureblood noble family from Tuscany. Though the founding family are known for working as bankers, jurists and humanist scholars, there were quite a few merchants who were savvy about economics and trade. These merchants would be the ancestors of Helena Sozzini, the head chef of Sant'Angelo (a Cassan-Sozzini restaurant property in Dundalk).
