Dress sense: Most of the time, Raffaele looks good, a trait inherited from his parents. Though, when working he wears clothes he can move around in easily, because there is no point putting yourself in danger.

Likes:
- Curse breaking.
- Dangerous situations that get the adrenaline pumping.

Dislikes:
- Business, Raffaele was never too good at the poker face and backstabbing ways of the business world. This was why he decided against joining his fathers business, because he knew he would not do well.
- Being in the same place/on the same job for long period of time.

Strengths:
- Bilingual due to his family coming from Ireland and Italy, Raffaele can speak English and Italian fluently.
- Ancient Runes - needed for Curse Breaking Career.
- Defensive Magic (for his own safety, as well as others).
- Cool under pressure.
- Highly determined, telling Raffaele he can't do something will only make him try that much harder.
Weaknesses:
- His little sister, Raffaele really can't say no to her, which is likely to get him in to trouble at some point.
- His mother's cooking. an extra portion? Why not!
- Despite doing well in school, Raffaele struggles at transferring the knowledge gained to pass exams in to real life situations, which was why he went in to a practical job, rather than a desk job.
- Being made to sit still for a long period of time.
Positive traits:
- Fearless of danger - hence he has such a dangerous job!
- Brave to the point of fault.
- Raffaele is quite the gentleman towards women, not in a flirty manner, but his mama always taught him to respect the women he comes across (though this doesn't mean Raffaele hasn't had his share of casual relationships).
- Confident in himself and his abilities without coming across as cocky.
- Finished school with obscenely high marks, giving him access to basically any job he wanted to do.
Negative traits:
- His lack of fear has often led to a number of hairy situations, usually resulting in a scar or two, but thankfully (thus far) nothing too serious.
- Will only do things if he wants to/can see the merit in doing so, so has often been called stubborn.
- Intolerant of endangering behaviour whilst working.
Raffaele Cassan is the oldest child of the Cassan family, and for his childhood years he loved being the oldest. His parents would show him their business, and explain how it all could be his one day, but they also allowed him a good upbringing. The Cassan family is quite large, so there was never a dull moment when his younger siblings started to appear.
Raffaele went off to Hogwarts at the age of eleven and was sorted in to Gryffindor. His parents were happy with this, and Raffaele excelled in all of his classes. Most especially the more practical lessons, but also in Ancient Runes too. In his third year, Raffaele joined the Quidditch team, and his fifth year found him handed the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain badge, as well as the Gryffindor Prefect badge. Mostly because he was popular in the school, but also due to his hard work inside and outside the classroom.
At the age of seventeen, Raffaele realised that he wanted to become a Curse Breaker, and broke the news to his parents about not wanting to continue the family business, a role he insisted should be passed down to his younger brother. His parents weren't happy with this, of course, but they accepted this. Raffaele found himself a flat in London to get away from the awkwardness of the situation, and a month after leaving school, he was accepted on to Curse Breaker courses at the University.
After three years, he graduated and has been working for Gringotts ever since as a resident Curse Breaker for the goblins.

The Cassan family are descendants of Norman warriors who moved to Ireland many centuries ago. They are of Germanic and Italian origin, and are known for their bravery and loyalty to their friends. Today, Cassan wizards and witches protect others by working in mostly law enforcement (such as law, Auror work, etc). Michael Cassan also owns a few pubs both in the muggle and wizarding world, as he was taught business and trade skills by Helena Sozzini's parents.
The Sozzinis are a pureblood noble family from Tuscany. Though the founding family are known for working as bankers, jurists and humanist scholars, there were quite a few merchants who were savvy about economics and trade. These merchants would be the ancestors of Helena Sozzini, the head chef of Sant'Angelo (a Cassan-Sozzini restaurant property in Dundalk). |
