Musings of a Single Witch (Primrose and Taylor) Empty

Ever since February arrived, Prim had been feeling more and more horrible by the minute purely because February meant Valentine's day and Valentine's day meant that girls were going gaga over the older boys and guys were going gaga over the girls, including her. It didn't make her feel any better like most would've thought, it only made her more annoyed and she cursed the person who thought of Valentine's Day as it just meant that people had hopes that they shouldn't even have.

Sure she could see the good side to it if the people were already together or if they reciprocated the feelings of the other but in the end if the feelings were one-side you just ended up with heartbreak and tears and that just made Prim more bummed about the day.

As Valentine's came closer and closer so did the amount of guys that tried to ensnare the young witch for at least a date or even a one-night stand but Prim didn't let up and sent them off with a cold look and a sneer that just seemed to make the guys try harder.

As she sullenly stomped through the grounds of Hogwarts, she had the sudden urge to just punch some fucker in the face and if there was another guy who approached her with an offer of a date or a leer on their face she was going to punch the poor fucker in the face.

The one drawback to playing the field was Valentine's Day, because he knew he'd have multiple girls trying to secure his attention for the day. Taylor didn't want to deal with the drama, and just wanted a nice quiet day finding a way to buy firewhiskey and get some candy without girls hounding him. He knew that the only way he would be left alone is if he had a date though, or simply chose to stay at Hogwarts. Staying at Hogwarts sounded terrible, and he just wished there was somebody normal he could talk to about this thing. All the guys were acting like they'd just discovered girls for the first time though, and the girls were flaunting it or too shy to do anything. That was, at least, until he saw a witch who looked as frustrated as he felt walking across the grounds like he was. Nobody else was in sight, so he assumed she'd gotten out of the castle for the quiet.

"Hey Primrose! What's bothering you so much?" he asked, before jogging over to catch up with her, matching her stride easily. "I mean seriously, you look like somebody stole your lucky lingerie or something." Taylor joked, knowing she appreciated a good flirty joke, unlike some of the girls around here.

When Prim had first met Taylor she had been unimpressed by the boy before slowly it had turned to amusement and eventually she accepted him as a somewhat friend in her circle though naturally, she tried to keep that friendship down as she didn't know how many people would enjoy seeing the two interact; from what she knew of Taylor's escapades, and she knew about many of them girls were such talkers after all, she knew that if she was seen anywhere in the vicinity of the Slytherin she would instantly be hounded by other girls who deemed themselves to being the next Miss Wilkes and that just made her roll her eyes in exasperation every time she witnessed their attempts at trying to intimidate her.

When she heard Taylor speak up to her she was awfully glad that her fist didn't come up to nail him in the face and instead her lips twitched into a soft smile and a snicker escaped her lips. "And what about you? You look like a girl suddenly came up to you and announced that she was having your child and that you should do 'the right thing by marrying her and supporting her and the child'." She teased before she answered his initial question. "Boys just being boys... Teenage hormones and talking with their dick and not their head." She said bluntly without any shame what so ever.

Taylor saw the clenched fist slowly loosen as she saw it was him and gave him just a hint of a smile before snickering. He just shrugged and ran a hand through his hair at her comment, a guilty look on his face. "Yeah, you caught me. All the girls I've flirted with or looked at twice are trying to secure my Hogsmeade plans. I hate Valentine's Day so much. If I actually had a girl I was serious about maybe...but taking one out would just make them emotional and completely crazy, thinking they'd won my heart." he said, putting his hand on his chest and fake swooning before standing up straight again.

Her problems being the opposite of his own, Taylor completely understood and clapped her on the back lightly. "It'll be over soon. You are stunning, so I see their point but...nobody's mature enough to handle you aside from maybe a seventh year or two. Or me, but...we're friends, nothing else." he said, shaking his head at the thought. That was when it hit him, they were friends...Taylor thought as he looked at her curiously. "Actually, if you want...why don't we go to Hogsmeade as friends. Nothing else. That way people will get it through their heads we aren't available to badger for their amusement." he said, shuddering as some bad memories flashed through his brain.

Prim laughed softly at Taylor's antics and she couldn't help but pity him, thankfully Prim was slightly better off in the way that she never went out with a guy she wasn't serious about and truthfully her experience in the dating department couldn't even be called experience; all she had done really was to kiss Max under that mistletoe and then in a hidden corner where they took some time to kiss some more but that was really it.

"I don't envy you." She said with a smirk upon her lips. "That's what you get when you are a player Mr Wilkes." She teased her friend with a twinkle in her eye. She knew perfectly well how girls got around Taylor as she witnessed it more than once and it just made her scoff and sneer at them in anger and annoyance.

"Ugh, I hope they fucking get a brain soon enough or I will be forced to do some drastic measures." She muttered annoyingly before blinking her doe eyes at Taylor when he suggested going as friends to Hogsmeade, it was an idea, an idea that she liked. "Hmm... Sure, I'm up for that. It'll get the guys off my back if they think I'm taken." She mused out loud. "And it will get the girls to back off from badgering you."

Taylor sighed, getting serious for a moment. "In all honesty, I'm getting kind of sick of dating around, but...I don't think anybody would believe me if I asked a girl out for real. They have their idea of me now that I forged through four years of being an idiot, and that's branded me for the least three years in this place. Well, two and a half now." he said, sharing something he'd never admitted to anyone. Being thought of as a cold Slytherin didn't bother him, but being thought of as insensitive and uncaring about girl's feelings did, though he hid it well.

Seeing her blink her big blue/gray eyes at him like that made Taylor think for a second if they did actually like each other, wishing that he did. She would be the kind of girl he could fall for, of that much he was certain. "Awesome, I'll meet you in the entrance hall, let's say ten?" he asked, grinning. Reaching out, he took her hand lightly in his, brushing his thumb across her smooth skin as he rubbed a small circle. "If you want we can even make it convincing as a real date instead of a friend one with a kiss at some point, but that's up to you." he said teasingly.

Prim smiled softly at Taylor as she listened to him before she spoke up her thoughts. "We all make mistakes when we're little kiddies and while it's true that makes our reputation for the rest of the years at Hogwarts, it doesn't actually mean it should stay that way." She hummed with a tilt of her head, her hair falling in soft waves behind her.

"Sure! I'll meet you there." She agreed enthusiastically as she already started making plans on what to wear for that day, her eyes lighting up at the idea of dressing up just to see Taylor's reaction to her choice of clothes. She would make it sexy but also subtle to not make herself seem like a slut. At the thought of a kiss at the end, Prim grinned teasingly as she stood on her tip-toes and whispered saucily in Taylor's ear. "How about I keep that a secret for now, hmm? You'll see on the date if I'll kiss you."

Pondering what she said for a few moments, he conceded her point with a nod of his head. "I suppose you're right, and even if it doesn't change at Hogwarts it won't follow us too far after. Thanks for the pep talk." Taylor said, giving her a rare genuine smile instead of his usual smirk. Seeing her hair flow in waves behind her reminded him just how beautiful she was, and he felt lucky to have such a nice friend.

Her teasing grin as she stood up on her tip toes and whispered in his ear sent pleasurable shivers down Taylor's spine. "Deal, but I'm going to look my best so you better be up to snuff, Primrose." he told her, before kissing her cheek and going back into the castle at a job. In reality, he was just trying to get away before she saw the bulge in his pants that she'd caused.
