BackgroundAristotle was named so because of his father's fascination with philosophy. He grew up listening to Dante's adventures and Athena's complaining. Desire the age difference, Ari was closer to his brother who loved the boy endlessly. As Dante grew up, Aristotle's one and only friend became the library of his father's school. Ari's life was more sheltered than the of his older siblings. His parents had learned to limit the boy's freedoms through their parenting "mistakes" with Dante and Athena. Through his early school years, Aristotle was a lone wolf, never the kind of boy to play along with the rest of the kids at the playground. Instead, his free time was spent reading about everything, from fantasy to non-fiction.
Since he was quiet, isolated, and smarter than the kids in his year, Aristotle was tested for Asperger's Disease but the tests weren't definitive. Given that, Ari has given himself the challenge to try and make friends. His very first sign of magic was at age seven, when he was trying to play a magic game with Athena and she asked him to show her fire, which he did. Almost instantly, the curtains of their living room lit on fire and a screaming Athena ran for her parents. After researching the incident and observing Ari, their parents concluded that somehow the boy had magic inside him. Their theory was confirmed when the letter of acceptance to Hogwarts arrived, with Aristotle's name clearly written in glossy ink.
Shortly after his acceptance, his grandfather gave him a film camera, which Aristotle now uses all the time.

Family BackgroundHazel and Samuel attended the same university, in which Hazel studied Greek and Samuel studied English Literature. After four years of dating, the two became married on June 3rd and so they created their family with the arrival of Dante Thornton Mayes, their firstborn. Years later, Athena Eliza Mayes was born, followed by Aristotle Maxwell Mayes.
Hazel went on to become a translator for books and important Greek findings, and Samuel became a professor at his old university. Both have raised their children with a strong sense of morality, an excellent education and as much care as they could give them.
Dante is currently studying Philosophy as the university his father works at, and Athena is torn between Women's Studies and Sociology. Little Aristotle, however, has enough time on his hands to not worry about that.
They currently live in Islington, in a home at Lonsdale Square. Of course, Dante has moved out already and with Aristotle at Hogwarts, the house feels too lonely and quiet for the remaining Mayes.
