Runes Lesson Two - All Years Empty
PostSubject: Runes Lesson Two - All Years   Runes Lesson Two - All Years EmptyMon Jun 01, 2015 10:56 pm

The first lesson had gone well, and that had settled Daniel's nerves tenfold. He knew he was capable, of course he did, but knowing something well, and teaching it well were two very different things. But it seemed, despite doing well in his teaching role, his personal life was growing a little... well, complicated.  He could only hope that by the time Christmas came around, everything would be settled back down again.

Taking a deep breath, Daniel looked at the board, checking the words written there. Cursebreaking. Daniel didn't know if the students would know much, in fact, he hoped they wouldn't. He wanted to show the kids a cool career that many of them would over look, and hopefully, if they had time, show them how to break in to a couple of 'cursed' objects.

The fact the 'curses' were only tickling charms was neither here nor there, of course. Daniel was simply trying to keep it fun for everyone.

Now, he simply had to wait for his students to arrive.

Runes Lesson Two - All Years Empty

Yes! First class of the day and Bennet was the first one, again. He was proud of that small accomplishment, especially since it was the class with Headmaster Jameson as professor. As he walked in through the doors, he found the professor and his grin instantly grew bigger. Bennet was smiling from ear to ear now. "Good morning professor!" Bennett took his seat at the front. "How was the ball? Did you attend?" he asked as he took out his notes from last class, half paying attention in case the Headmaster replied and half looking through his notes to do some last minute reviewing.

Bennett had opted to stay away from the ball and such activities, as they were silly and more or less a waste of time. Instead, he had stayed up playing wizard chess with some of the Ravemclaes who felt the same way he did about social gatherings. But, of course the Headmaster had attended....he was the Headmaster! Bennett felt stupid only for a moment, as his attention was brought back to the class. More specifically, the board.

Cursebreaking?! Yes! Bennett had that career down as one of his possible ones, the secret list he carried in his head as if his father found out Bennett didn't feel like going into Quidditch it would raise hell in their household. One thing not many people knew about Bennett was that his entire life had already been planned out by his parents. His mother had planned the school and money-saving parts, while his father had made sure to teach Bennett all about Quidditch so that one day Bennett could get signed into a famous team and play the sport his father loved so much.

In other words, Bennett was more than excited for this lesson.

Bella had discovered she liked Runes more than she was going to admit, so she hoped this class would be interesting as well. Despite how early it was, and her brain was technically only functioning halfway, she made her way to the classroom. She liked that the Headmaster was giving it a try at teaching, it was something new to her. As she arrived, she recognized only one more person in the room aside from the Headmaster: a boy in Ivan's year by the name of Bennett, a Hufflepuff. Of course she had met him before, but she tried to stay away from her brother's life as she knew it embarrassed him.

Sitting near the boy, but in a spot all to her own, she greeted the two with a smile before taking her seat near the middle row. The board informed her they would be learning about cursebreaking and her blue eyed instantly lit up. This was a familiar topic because her steo-sister, Skylar, had briefly studied cursebreaking before changing her major due to the university's terrible cursebreakibg program. Maybe this class would be a lot easier than the last.

Runes Lesson Two - All Years Empty

After the first lesson of Ancient Runes, Finley was excited to be heading in to the class again. For the first time in his school career, he'd made a spell work. Effectively. How it should work. And not by accident. He'd had control over the magic, and he'd been able to do something that was very, very cool.

For the rest of the day after the first lesson, Finley had not stopped smiling and going over his achievement in his head.

So, eager to get to his, now, favourite class, Finley hurried up the stairs, leaving Naomi a couple of paces behind by accident and hurried through the door. "M-morning, Professor!" Finley greeted, taking up the seat in the back row he and Naomi had used last time, quickly taking out his books and notepad. He was so excited for this, and it showed quite clearly from the grin on his lips.

Layla had been quite fond of her first Runes lesson which shocked her. Runes seemed like such a boring subject so when she found it on her timetable, she was disheartened. However, after carving the fore symbol into the wooden bowl last lesson and then creating fire from it, she decided she definitely come to love this subject. She had awoken that morning before her alarm even went off in order to make it to Runes on time. She left her hair down, allowing it to flow gently down her back, and with her robes gliding around her, she was off to class.

She bounced down the hall and when she reached the classroom, she was ecstatic to see that she was fairly early, only a few other students had gotten there before her. "Goodmorning Headmaster," she gave him a warm smile and a nod of her head before she turned and made her way to a seat towards the front of the room. Last class, she had snuck in, but now that the subject held her attention, she decided to sit as close as she could to the board.

As she sat, she looked to the board. Cursebreaking. She didn't remember hearing anything about that, but it certainly grasped her interest. She couldn't wait for class to begin.

Whatever Ancient Runes was, it sounded fun. Aristotle figured he could take as many classes as possible to show his family what he had learned, to let them know he was doing great at school. A couple students were already in their spots, ready for class to begin. Some of them grinned like this was their favorite class, and maybe it was, which made Aristotle hope that his could also be his favorite class.

He took a seat by the door, looking around at the other students before hisbeyes settled on the professor. It was the Headmaster of the shool, Ari knew that much. Whether he was a good professor or not, he wasn't sure but by the look on the faces of the students he could tell the man was doing something right. Aristotle took out his book, his folder with notes from the past lesson he'd missed, and something to write with.

Though Runes wasn't what Alberi expected it to be, he actually liked it. Though he surely wasn't a good carver, he still thought he would do well in this. It was much more interesting from the other subjects, at least for him. And he wasn't thinking this just because the head master thought it. Even though it is something he would do. But this time he really liked this subject and wished to learn more. Perhaps he'd take some books on the same subject...

Alberi walked to the class, still looking to the floor. He still couldn't get the attacking hippogriff out of his head. Today he made sure to not get stuck in any stairs. And at least he knew how to exit from one now. The boy entered in the room. "Greeting, professor." he said and sat at the front. Looking up to the board, he tried to remember what he read about curse-breaking. Not much... He didn't think he'd like this subject so much. But now he'll try harder for it.

Naomi dragged her feet on the way to Ancient Runes, making it easy for Finley to beat her through the door. She gave a small smile and shook her head fondly at his enthusiasm; she knew how much it meant to Finley that he could succeed in this class.

However, that didn't stop Naomi from being disgruntled that she preformed spectacularly poorly last lesson. And in the Headmaster's class no less! She was used to things coming to her with relative ease, though she was by no means perfect at her other subjects. As a result, she had studied several books on Ancient Runes besides their textbook before class and knew quite a bit on cursebreaking, their apparent topic for the day's class.

Sliding into the desk in the back beside Finley, she was happy to see that he still took her nerves around the Headmaster in stride. Maybe that was why she had had such a problem last class? She hoped that was the case and that her extra preparation would allow her to do much better this time around.

Victoria was excited for the Runes class. The first lesson had been quite exciting, even if a little dangerous, especially for the younger years. But, Victoria trusted that the Headmaster knew what he was doing, and didn't question it. Hurrying through the halls, Victoria had reminded a couple of first years of the direction they needed to go to find their next class, before hurrying up the stairs to her own class.

It was only a couple of minutes later before she slipped through the door, quite impressed once more by the turn out of the younger years. "Morning." Victoria greeted the class, flashing a smile towards the professor as she took her usual seat at the front of the room.

A couple moments later, Victoria had finished getting out her books, notebooks and a quill, and sat waiting for the professor to start the lesson, noting the subject on the board and wondering what they would be doing.

Runes Lesson Two - All Years Empty

”I don’t wanna,” Phillip groaned last night while Ellie was kicking his sides with narrowed eyes, “I hate mysteries, ask Caelan to.” She pouted and kicked his hip a little harder, making her older brother grunt. “You’re a brat.” He told her as he stood up. “I’m gonna go for a walk otherwise I’ll end up more bruised than if I was playing American football here.”

“You’re a big baby!” Ellie shouted before settling into the couch again. She only stayed there for a few moments before jumping up off and scurrying up the stairs and to her room. She didn’t feel like partaking in the loud laughter and shouts of joy that ricocheted off the walls as if to reminder her of her uncomfortable state.

Ellie didn’t have any friends in Runes, so she was scared of just sitting there alone. Or worse actually, she was scared of having to make more friends. She wasn’t too good at social situations. Her nerves were crawling through her body as she braided her hair to one said of her head, ignoring the jolts of pain as her hair was still wet and unmanageable. She wondered which one of her parents had such messy hair because she had to have gotten it from somewhere, but she’d seen her mother roll out of bed with perfect windswept hair. Now her dad...

She shook the thoughts from her head and pulled her robes over her uniform. The weather was chilling up, nothing too bad but she sometimes forgot how the cold felt. She tucked her wand into her sleeve and threw her book bag over her shoulders and headed towards Runes. Once she opened the door she scanned around for the most secluded spot she could and headed straightfor it, not even bothering to greet her teacher as she took her seat.
