Runes Lesson Three - All Years Empty
PostSubject: Runes Lesson Three - All Years   Runes Lesson Three - All Years EmptyThu Jul 02, 2015 7:52 pm

With the fact he had a professor out of action, Daniel was a little bit stressed. With such short notice on losing Professor Newbury, Daniel hadn't really had much choice but to step in to the role, which meant planning more lessons than he would have liked. Of course, Naomi had been very supportive, but he was still very worried about the situation.

But, first of all, he had to press on with his own lesson.

Turning to the board, Daniel used the charmed chalk to write today's lessons on it. Today wasn't an overly difficult lesson, and in fact, might be easy for some, but with the run up to exams, Daniel was using the session more for revision than anything else.

Numbers and Letters, was what the board said, hopefully giving off a big enough clue to what they would be doing that day.

Caelan entered Ancient Runes with a nod to Professor Jameson and sat somewhere near the front but not quite. Ellie had finally convinced him to join her on one of the lessons, and so he switched classes to share one with his baby sister (she'd murder him if she knew that's what he called her in his head). Nevertheless, Caelan had plenty of spare time to read and study for various different classes he wasn't entirely enrolled in. He rubbed the back of his neck as he took out his notebooks coated in notes from his Ancient Runes textbook. Well more accurately from Ellie's textbook, she usually bombarded him in the library with a pouty face about not getting what was going on and so he took it upon him to tutor him.

It was his job as the oldest brother and he took pride in watching Ellie's strides. Now all he had to do was wait for his little sister get here so he didn't have to talk to anyone else and make a fool of himself.

Ancient Runes was one of Aiden's strongest points after all his older sister was practically a Runes prodigy and she had taken her Mastery the year she had left Hogwarts and earned it within the year. She had taught him everything and anything about Runes and Aiden was pleased that he had taken listened to his sister and taken the elective in his third year.

So far he had not been disappointed in the least and he doubted that he would be. Professor Jameson was a very good teacher and he could, in truth, keep his class captivated with what he was teaching them.

Stepping into the room, Aiden moved towards one of the empty desks and sat down on it, curiously looking at the board before tilting his head to the side.

Numbers and Letters? Just what were they going to do? Whatever it was, it would certainly be an insightful lesson and the brunette had a feeling that he was going to enjoy this.

Runes Lesson Three - All Years Empty

After the last lesson with Professor Jameson, in which she'd won herself a box of Bertie Bott Every Flavour Beans for cracking open the 'cursed' box, Victoria had been looking forward to the next lesson. Professor Jameson managed to keep what could have been a mundane lesson... well, exciting.

Entering the classroom, Victoria sent a small smile to her classmates, before taking up her usual seat in the front row. Taking out her books and her quill, Victoria set herself ready for the lesson. "Good morning, professor." She greeted the Headmaster as warmly as she could muster in light of recent events. It was off though, and anyone who knew anything about Victoria would be able to tell in a moment's notice.

However, Victoria never let herself get down, not properly, it would upset her big brother if he saw her upset, so she powered on, making sure she made him proud.

Runes Lesson Three - All Years Empty
PostSubject: Re: Runes Lesson Three - All Years   Runes Lesson Three - All Years EmptyMon Jul 06, 2015 3:42 am

After the last lesson, which had left her giggling randomly throughout the day at the most inconvenient times when she was unable to open her box, Naomi was not looking forward to Ancient Runes. No matter how hard she studied, she couldn't keep the squiggles straight in her mind. Sighing, she trailed an excited Finley into class.

While Naomi was glad that Finley had finally found a class that he excelled in, she was petty enough to wish it hadn't been the one class she was truly awful at, although she felt bad about the thought immediately after. Still, it was nice to see his eyes light up when he did something right, so she would endure the class for the next few years until she decided what career path she was taking and could drop it.

A glance at the board told her the subject of today's class and Naomi sighed with relief. Well at least this seemed basic enough; maybe something would actually stick this time.

Runes Lesson Three - All Years Empty

It was once again time for Alberi's favourite lesson. It was very interesting for him. Perhaps he had a knack for such stuff? Maybe he could decipher ancient muggle texts when he grows old enough. He overall found learning about Runes very interesting and his second most read text books was that. Just after books about technology his mum sent him. He really wished technology didn't interact with the magic at Hogwarts - it would have been great if he could bring at least on computer here.

Alberi walked inside the class room, noticing a few other students. He only recognised two of them though. Overall he remembered students which made him a bigger impression on or had been in front of his eyes so much he just couldn't forget that. Ignoring them, he went to the front row and sat down, greeting the professor before that. He liked the front row. Rarely people sat there. It was nearer to the teacher so he could hear him better. And he hardly could hear what the others whispered to each other, if they did.

Now did he look at the board. Numbers and letters. Though at first he thought of Arithmancy, he hold himself from face palming to himself. So they would be learning the basics. Alberi resisted smiling. He had already went through them. Now he would test himself to see how much he did remember in the end. Hopefully the others would come here sooner.

Seeing the class he excelled in come up on his timetable next had put Finley in a good mood - as it should have. With a little more purpose in his stride, Finley hurried up towards the sixth floor with Naomi in tow. He knew she wasn't as enthusiastic about the lesson, but he didn't let that dampen his own spirits for the lesson.

Finley had managed to get in to his box last lesson, meaning he got the sweets from the professor. He had to deal with Naomi's giggling for the rest of the day - which meant he had sore ribs too from laughing along with her whilst she did - but Finley thought it was the best idea ever.

As they took their seats, Finley looked up to the board curiously, trying to decide what they would be doing that day that went with the topic, but he really couldn't be sure. So he did what he could do for the moment - wait.

Waiting for the class to fill up, Daniel smiled to each of the students, waiting for them to take their seats as he checked his watch. Waiting right until the last second had passed to the start of the lesson, Daniel clapped his hands together once to get everyone's attention. Confidence in Ancient Runes came easily to him, so this lesson he was much more ready for it.

"Good morning everyone, welcome back to Runes, I hope you're all doing well." Daniel told them, a small smile on his lips. "Today we are going to be doing a little bit of revision ready for your end of year exams. I have two methods in which you can use this period to your advantage.

"You may either choose to do the work by creating words, drawing the symbols and then getting a partner to decipher them. Or, you can take out the ones I have designed for you that are a little more complex. Please do what you feel more comfortable with." He explained, motioning to the pile of paper on his desk that had many phrases in Ancient Runes for the students to translate.

"You may use your book if you like, but I would suggest trying to do it without for those who have exams coming up. This is good practice." Daniel added, not wanting the older years to make it too easy for themselves. "If anyone would like me to help them with the deciphering, please call me over and I will do my best to help you! When you're ready, please begin."

Runes Lesson Three - All Years Empty
PostSubject: Re: Runes Lesson Three - All Years   Runes Lesson Three - All Years EmptyWed Jul 15, 2015 8:03 pm

After sitting in the Runes classroom in silence, ignoring the general population of the room that buzzed around him, Silas' ears finally tuned into Professor Jameson's words. There wasn't much of an interest in the Ancient Runes from Silas, which was a bit sad to say, but it was just who he was. Still he loaded his schedule up with classes for his own pleasure. Studying was nice, learning was great, it was something he wanted to keep doing. With his bigger tests coming up, Silas wasn't too fearful for his grades; he was floating on with high regards for the most part. So when Professor Jameson decided to give them a choice, with Silas abhorring the idea of being social, he settled for the latter.

"Thank you Professor," Silas said monotone as he grasped the harder runes sheet of paper and headed back to his desk to decipher it. His brain worked to fit the correct interpretations in the right places and once he had it settled he gave a nod noting that it had taken him twenty minutes - longer than usual, but nonetheless it wasn't too much of a farce on his part. He kept his head down and his quill moving however, not caring to be talked to or asked to do more as he instead looked through the older years runes and translated them.

Aiden listened to the Professor before grinning softly. Figures they would be doing revision. He should've realized that after all the OWL's, NEWT's and end of year exams were coming up. He had nearly forgotten about the OWL's that he was about to do at the end of the year and frankly he was so not looking forward to it but he knew these revision lessons would help him a great deal and despite loving Runes and being pretty proficient in them he knew that he should revise.

Standing from his desk, Aiden walked towards the Professor's one and grabbed a sheet of the written Runes and walked back towards his desk and quickly started going through the runes on the sheet. The first few were pretty easy it was just the later ones Aiden had trouble doing but he knew there was no need to rush. After all rushing meant he would make mistakes and with runes the mistakes could be fatal so he just slowly took his time.
