| Jake couldn't help but feel terrible as he placed the blanket around the witch and she recoiled from him. He should have, perhaps known better than to touch a woman who had been through this. But he'd hoped she'd seen his Auror uniform and know that he was not going to hurt her.
A quick tap of the Portkey with his wand, Jake placed the Portkey in the witch's hand and she was away to the Ministry a moment later.
It took a moment for Jake to compose himself, to rid himself from the guilt, and the confirmation of Mrs Westbrook being received at the Ministry in their earpiece before he would move forward. Later, he could dwell on the way the witch had reacted, but for now... now he would need to focus.
"Jake, let's check in here,"
Nodding his assent, Jake moved forward towards the door as Scarlett had decided. Wand at the ready, Jake glanced across to Scarlett once more. "On your call."
