The beautiful brunette was making her way through the grounds towards the Black Lake, a brown violin case clutched in her hand, when she was startled by a soft mew by her feet and when she looked down she was treated to the sight of a very familiar kitten walking next to her and between her legs, rubbing up against them when she stopped her walk.

"Hey there Freddo." She chuckled softly as she crouched down and petted the cat, stroking his head and then tickling under his chin as he purred at her ministrations. "Is your owner around here somewhere or did you just come by yourself?" She questioned the cat as she picked him up with one hand and cuddled him towards her chest as she continued her walk towards the Black Lake, where she placed her violin behind some rocks before she took a seat and then placed the purring cat on her lap, rubbing and stroking the soft ball of fluff who's purrs got louder.

She had seen Max in the common room that morning but after that, she hadn't seen hide or hair of him, maybe he was doing homework somewhere. She had come out to do some violin practice but now that she had Freddo with her, she wanted to spend some time with the lovable cat.

Severine was tired of spending most of her day indoors but she hated the outdoors. She hated the way it made her smell and the fresh air. She hated the lake and the sounds of birds and other filthy creatures. Princesses like herself did not belong outdoors, however she was going crazy. Cabin fever was running high right now so she did the last thing she'd ever be expected to do - she went outdoors.

Severine threw on her favourite cloak and headed out to the grounds. Despite not wanting it, she knew she needed the fresh air and that first deep breath inhaled out the castle was incredibly relaxing. The weather has become quite cool - though no snow yet - and Severine found herself actually enjoying it. The sun still shone casting a beautiful golden light on her white blonde hair and she made her way across the grounds. She didn't have a destination in mind as she walked, all she had in mind was the freedom that being outdoors had seemed to bring her.

Severine found herself along the lake shore, approaching a girl who was carrying some sort of case and loving on a cat. She didn't understand why her feet were dragging her in the direction of the younger looking girl but they were and she was becoming annoyed with herself. When she was only a mere few feet away from the girl who looked to share her House she stopped and waited. She didn't know what she was waiting for though. Was she waiting for her to talk? Leave? Bow?

Prim stroked Freddo as she listened to his soft purring before she decided to at least get some Violin practice in; give the kitty in her lap a few rubs on his stomach, Prim slowly picked him up before placing him on the stone she had sat on, chuckling softly when he just curled up on the warm place where she had been sitting.

Leaning down to pick up the case, she placed it on the other side of the stone and unclasped it, pulling out the ivory-colored violin and it's bow before she snapped close the case. Letting her case fall to the soft grass with a soft thump, Prim placed the violin on her shoulder and her chin on the chin rest, she placed her fingers in the right position before with a deep sigh, she rested the bow against the strings and slowly but surely started playing a soft melody.

Because she started playing, she didn't actually realise that someone had joined her or that someone was standing behind her.

Severine's focus went to the cat that was near the girl. Seve was a fan of cats, she had one of her own named Maeyls. Seeing the way this cat adored the girl meant that this girl was likely a good, kind person. The opposite of Severine. Someone she likely didn't want to get tied up with - but she needed an acquaintance. Three years away from Hogwarts was long enough to ruin all potential friendships and acquaintances she had begun to build and now she was a bit lonely.

The tune the girl played was enchanting, enticing and a bit peaceful. Severine found a small smile playing on her lips and she took a seat next to the girl. "I'm Severine," she spoke, "that's an interesting piece there." She didn't even know what the instrument the girl was playing was called because she was the farthest thing from a musician someone could be. Her mother had forced her to take piano lessons for years and all Severine could play was 'Happy Birthday'. It was pitiful.

Looking back, she wished she would've been interested in learning more because then, maybe it'd be easier to make friends. She' be even more amazing than she already was and she'd have another thing in common with this girl other than being a Gryffindor.

As Prim played the tune, she hadn't realised that someone was there until that person spoke up, startling her and making her stop, eyes wide with surprise before a soft smile overtook her features; she rarely had any audience when playing but thankfully she didn't have stage fright or stuff like that so she easily adjusted to this girl, Severine, being there.

"I'm Primrose, Prim for short." She introduced herself before bowing her head in greeting. "It's nice to meet you Severine. Mmm, it is..." She nodded her head; there weren't many people who actually knew she played the violin and Prim was quite sure that not even Max knew about it, considering that she never told him.

"You play anything?" She asked with a tilt of her head as she went back to playing, the tune being softer now and much quieter so that they could talk without interruptions.

The girl seemed surprised by Severine's appearance and it almost made her laugh. Severine wasn't someone to fear, but maybe she had technically snuck up on the girl and frightened her. "Sorry if I've spooked you," Sev announced, a French drawl to her tone. Primrose? What an interesting name. Severine smiled towards her in order to keep her nose from screwing up. It was the weirdest name she'd ever heard. Must be a muggle thing.

"Well then Prim," the girl replied, "it's nice to meet you." Severine didn't actually think it was nice to meet the girl, but wasn't that usually what people said when trying to be nice to others? Clearly the Charlot knew nothing about making friends and keeping them. That was a foreign aspect to her, much like the lives of Muggles.

"I can play 'Happy Birthday' on the piano but that's about it," the girl shrugged, "I wasn't super interested those years Mother forced me to take lessons." Severine grimaced a bit thinking back on her past. She didn't get to live free-willed like she wished. Not for another year or so. Isaline and Alexande however were able to live however they wanted and that made Severine a jealous, bitter girl.

Prim looked at the girl and, even though she was aware the female was in her house, she couldn't really remember seeing the girl anywhere but that may be because Prim most of the time was focused on either her studies or being friendly with Max, enjoying the other male's presence.

"It's okay, I should've been paying attention anyway." The brunette shook her head but silently accepted the apology from the girl. But truthfully she wouldn't have heard her even if she had been paying attention as Prim tended to be too focused on something and once she started doing something she wouldn't be easily stopped.

"It's nice to meet you as well." The girl replied with a slight smile upon her lips as she stroked her hand along Freddo's back to calm the little fellow down as he seemed to have been startled by Severine when she had spoken up.

"Hmmm.." The fourth year hummed softly as she eyed the girl. Severine didn't look as if she was a girl who even enjoyed playing any instruments. "I just took to playing when I was a young girl... There was nothing else to do really." She wasn't about to reveal why or where she came from. It's not like it was anyone elses business.

Change happened all the time, it was something that was evident. Even if you hated change, it affected you at some point in time. Sometimes it was a good thing, other times it wasn't. However Severine felt like she could change for the better. She could actually give this girl a chance, she could scrap the blood purity aspect and actually try for a normal friendship. A friendship that her family knew about and Severine stood up for.

Severine shruged at the girl's words, she couldn't say anything because she didn't want to sound rude, she was going to try now. She was going to see if she could bring a personality out that people enjoyed being around. However when the girl acknowledged it being nice to meet Severine, the Gryffindor smiled.

"Maybe I'll attempt to learn more one day but right now Hogwarts is taking all of my focus," Severine reminded her. She didn't know if Prim's studies came naturally or if she needed to study more like Severine did for subjects like Potions. "My parents were....much different." Severine left it at that to keep from spilling the Charlot beans.

Prim was quiet as she watched Severine, her lips pursed as she stared at her fellow Gryffindor; the younger female literally had no female friends, most of her friends were male and while she certainly didn't mind the male company, some female ones would've been great, if only because she knew perfectly well that her uncle wanted her to have some female company now that she had been found to be a Byrne.

"I probably won't have much time time after Hogwarts to learn more." No matter what her uncle wanted of her Prim was keeping to her promise of becoming a Hit Wizard, or at least getting the training so that she would be able to protect herself better; she had no plans on being any type of trophy wife for a pureblood dickhead who was going to use her for nothing more than giving him heir's and children.

"My studies are important but I do need time to relax so playing the violin is my relaxation." She hummed softly. "...I.. don't have any." She wasn't going to divulge her Byrne heritage, at least not until she met up with her uncle.

The girl was too quiet for Severine's liking and she let out a small frown. "So do you have any other hobbies?" Not that the violin playing wasn't cool but frankly, it wasn't as interesting anymore and Severine needed something else interesting about the girl if she was to continue this conversation.

"Oh," Severine replied, "well that's a bummer." She was secretly a bit envious that the girl made it sound like she knew what she was wanting to do after Hogwarts already. Primrose was younger than Severine and Severine couldn't even decide on what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She thought about just staying home and being a bomb ass wife and mother but the thought of children made her skin crawl. She didn't want to ruin her body in that manner. She did not wish to cook and clean and discipline spawns of her all day. "You should do what you love," Severine replied - moreso as a comment to herself.

"Studies are important," the Gryffindor replied, "but not if you can't have a break in between." Then when the girl mentioned she had no parents, Severine frowned. "Well, they think they know everything and try to run your life." Severine knew it wasn't the correct thing to say to someone like Primrose, but Severine also wasn't really empathetic when it came to that department.
