Exploring the Forest (Taylor & Max)

Taylor had finished up with his runs around the quidditch pitch, in addition to his push-ups and sit-ups, so now he was on the way back to get showered. As always, he'd started it out with flying through different maneuvers before he did the more physically taxing work on the ground. He took a walk around first to stretch out his muscles, and that was when he saw a boy about his age with a bowtruckle on his shoulder and a cat in his lap while he talked to his pet. Apparently the boy had named the bowtruckle buckle, which he thought was a bit unoriginal but he didn't have any better ideas for a stick of living wood that somehow could move around. Finally his name clicked, this was that Max kid from Gryffindor.

He was in a light jacket, a sweat-soaked t-shirt and sweatpants as it was rather cool out, so wasn't exactly looking or smelling great but when he heard this kid saying he kissed a girl and she said that she thought of him like a brother he winced. Taylor didn't know what that was like, but had to imagine it would not be great. "Hey Max, how's it going?" he said, waving as he walked closer. "So...your bowtruckle tells me you're having girl problems. Need some advice?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at the other boy.

Taylor shrugged when Max asked how he was doing. "Pretty well, really. Nothing too bad or too good to speak of at the moment." he admitted. For once, Taylor was more interested in what was going on in the other boy's life than talking about his own. He wasn't always self-absorbed, but was aware enough about himself he tended to talk a bit too much about his own stuff instead of listening to others. To his surprise, the boy actually started to explain a little more about what was going on and he listened intently.

He couldn't help chuckling at how awkward the boy looked before taking a seat on the ground and getting comfortable. Taylor couldn't remember being that awkward about girls, but was sure he may have been close at one point in the distant past. "Okay, from what you've told me it's pretty obvious that you like her. I may not know you that well, but I know enough that you wouldn't just think about kissing random girls you don't have feelings for. That's what guys like me wonder about." he explained. "So, since you like her the question is what do you want to do about it? Are you going to tell her and take a chance at maybe getting a girlfriend or do nothing? Those are the only two options. And, if she's a catch, well she might end up finding someone else if you dawdle too long." he explained, hoping that he was being clear in his explanations. "Do you mind if I ask who?" he asked at the end, quietly.
