| Alchemy had always seemed interesting to Scarlett. It was kind of a mix of muggle chemistry and magic, which held a certain appeal to the witch. After deciding to delve into the subject a little more, and learn even more about it, Scar decided to give teaching it a go. What she found even more interesting about the subject was just how much of it seemed to rely on muggle methods. Of course, such inventions as the philosopher's stone, and experiments like turning metal into gold, and stones into precious gems involved magic, there were quite a few other experiments that relied heavily on chemistry.
She decided that this lesson would be an introduction- a small explanation on the types of things they'd be learning, and some sort of activity to finish with, which should hopefully make people excited about learning it.
She took a seat at her desk, waiting for students to arrive so she could start her class. |

| Roxy had heard of Alchemy, read about it even and the subject appealed to the young witch just as much as Potion's did. It was a subject that had many limitless possibilities and so much you could do with that you wouldn't have enough time to even go through it all. So when the young German witch had heard about the subject being taught at Hogwarts she had instantly applied for it and eagerly waited for the first lesson of the year, something that she was sure annoyed her peers.
Her family didn't have many books on Alchemy, what they did have were just a few that had been discontinued from publishing many years ago so they were old and her father wouldn't send them purely because they were too precious, much like the Förstner family Grimoires that each member had. Roxy had started her own, where she wrote about the different ways you could make a certain potion, or the different way a potion could be made depending on the quality you wanted; it wasn't easy keeping up with it but it was fun and it allowed Roxy time to wind down from her week or month.
As the young Witch stepped into the classroom she beamed at the blond haired female behind the desk. "Hello Professor." She said demurely with a nod of her head as she moved to sit at one of the desks, pulling out a couple pieces of parchment and her ink wells and quill and put them all on the desk. |

| When Theo's dad had told him that Professor Waters had decided to switch from Flying to Alchemy, he was a little sad about it. He'd not gotten the opportunity to take the Flying lesson due to a rough Full Moon, and therefore didn't attend. But, he was definitely going to take Alchemy, so that he could experience someone else's teaching style.
Laden with his bag, Theo made his way up towards the Alchemy classroom which was situated on the Fourth Floor. He'd never noticed it before, it was almost as if it had just sprung up out of nowhere.
Stepping through the door, the Hufflepuff smiled warmly at the professor. "Good morning, Professor Waters!" Theo greeted, taking up a seat in the middle of the room, and getting his books out ready to begin the lesson. He had no idea what to expect in truth, and that was probably what was going to make this lesson more interesting. |

| Alchemy. Oliver wasn't sure, in truth, about this one. But, being from a Muggle family, he wanted to try everything. The only problem was, he didn't know what he'd actually signed himself up for. Still, there was only one way of finding this out, so Oliver hurried up towards the fourth floor to find the lesson that he'd signed up for.
It wasn't too bad a journey, in truth, and the Hufflepuff soon found the room that he was looking for. Slipping through the door, he noted the two people already there, and then the professor. Giving the professor a warm smile, Oliver offered her a soft hello before turning to the desks.
Not really knowing either of the students already there, Oliver moved to sit in the middle on his own. Despite being quite social, he didn't think the classroom was the right place to do so. Taking out his books, Oliver looked to the Professor expectantly for the lesson to begin. |

| Alchemy. A new addition to the syllabus, it would seem. Jacques couldn't help but be a little bit curious about that. That was probably why he was heading up to the classroom at that point, his schedule was free, and seeing as he had little else to fill his time, he'd decided that this couldn't hurt.
Slipping through the door to the class, Jacques took up a seat in the front row, but didn't bother to acknowledge the professor. He wasn't particularly in the mood for small talk - as usual - and the professor wasn't looking too imposing. Respect, therefore, could wait until he felt the need to give it.
If ever.
The board gave nothing away, so Jacques pulled out his textbook, and a notebook, waiting for the witch before him to make a start on the lesson. She, of course, couldn't do worse than Professor Loverin, he was sure of that much. ________________________________________________ | |

| When she heard that there was a new class in place of flying, Lux had nearly thrown a fit. She'd loved flying, loved the feeling of speeding through the air, loved freedom she had high above ground. And they were going to replace it with alchemy? What idiot had made that decision? Flying was an easy grade for Lux and now that was gone. Lux gritted her teeth in frustration as she climbed the steps to the fourth floor.
She didn't like the change. But she also wasn't one to back down from a challenge. She'd have more studying to do, since surely alchemy came with some theory, but she was determined to get as good a grade as if it was Flying. No one could fault Lux for accomplishing everything she set her mind to do.
She entered the classroom and completely ignored the professor. Lux held a grudge against the woman. She'd thought her rather alright when she was taking the Flying class but now that she agreed to teach Alchemy instead, Lux didn't like the woman one bit.
She walked to the back of the classroom and plonked down at a desk, tapping her fingers impatiently as she waited for the class to start.

| Alchemy. Something of a theoretical lesson, as far as Mathew was aware. He wasn't sure, to be honest, how he felt about that, but at least if it was theory, you could switch off. People watch. And, if needed, read through the subject again after class. Mathew was unapologetic in his opinion of the class, and as he walked in, he wasn't too impressed with finding a woman teaching.
Moving to the back of the class, Mathew pulled out his textbook and placed it on his desk before him. He wasn't overly aware of the people around him, but he could sit back and watch. Take them in and try to denote the people of interest - if any.
The board offered nothing in the way of explanation of the topic they were going to be studying, and this was not something that impressed the Hufflepuff. But, never mind. He'd probably have been unimpressed anyway.
OOC: I am so sorry for Mathew, I love you Maddie <3 |

| Alchemy had seemed to be an odd class. Never having taken it before, but having heard of great wizards who were alchemists, Violet decided to see what it was all about. Who knows, it might actually be useful. Walking into the classroom, she saw a few students had already arrived.
She dropped her bag at the foot of one of the free desks at the back and took a seat. It seemed as though the new professor had wanted to 'surprise' the class with what they'd be learning, she resolved from seeing the blank blackboard. She took out a notebook and pen (refusing to use quills- they were impractical and annoying to use) and waited silently for class to start.
New professor... She wondered if the woman might get as flustered as professor Loverin had during his first lesson. She wouldn't know until she heard her speak- if her voice shook, or she stumbled often. Those were the signs to look for, something to exploit. But for now, the woman was wearing a neutral expression. |

| Alchemy. Florrie wasn't entirely sure what it was, only that it was some sort of very old magical art from which someone supposedly created a spell or something from immortality. That was the extent of her knowledge. Curious, she'd signed herself up for the class after hearing that there was a new professor teaching it.
She made her way to the classroom, one she hadn't recalled seeing throughout the year, oddly enough. She entered, seeing quite a few students already there. Though there was no indication of the lesson they'd be having today, and unfortunately, for the moment at least, her legilimens skills seemed to only work for those close to her- her family and her friend Serenity. She'd have to focus quite hard if she wanted to read the teacher's thoughts, which was far too much effort to find out something she'd learn in a few minutes when the class began.
Finding an empty seat, she took out her notebook and readied herself for the lesson. |

| The be truly honest, the only reason James took Alchemy was because the teacher was hot. And because the philosopher's stone was cool, the immortality aspect being rather intriguing, but mostly due to the attractiveness of the former flying teacher. Now he really wished he'd attended that last flying class, not only would he have been doing what he loved-flying, but he'd have been able to show off a little bit. Having close to no knowledge on Alchemy meant that he could easily mess up, especially if it happened to be a prac class (did Alchemy do practicals? James wasn't sure...)
He'd walked into the classroom, smiling "Professor," he greeted with a nod, walking to the front of the classroom and taking a seat, readying his things and looking eager to start. There was no indication of what exactly the lesson would entail, but James was certain that it would be interesting. If not, he could simply zone out. |
