Riling Martin up was much too easy, and Naomi had grown bored of even doing that. Where was the fun in playing with someone who put up little to no fight against you? There wasn't any, and if the boy hadn't been dull to start with,
he'd now plummeted in to the very depths of dull now. Giving up on the game,
and riling him up, Naomi simply smiled at the boy who was calling her out.
"Well, I would say mirroring is a tactic, but it seems you don't want to play." Naomi replied, knocking over her King to end the game. It might mean Martin won - by technicality, not skill - but she didn't care to continue with the game with him getting his wand in a knot over it.
Listening to the boy say he was ready to leave to was of little interest, but the point of his social awkwardness did give Naomi the opportunity she wanted. "Why are you so terrible at conversations - actually, not conversations, people? From day one you've been stumbling over yourself, making very little sense, and getting riled up very, very easily. I've met some socially awkward people in my life, Martin, but none so... inept as you." Naomi explained, and though the words might not be nice, the malice she usually used in her sentences was gone.
No, Naomi's tone was more inquisitive. Softer. And... well, curious to find out what made the boy tick.
