"Airi, are you done packing yet?" The soft tones of an older woman filtered through into the spacious room that Airi called her bedroom. As an unmarried woman, Airi still lived with her parents in their grand mansion but neither of the Hirabayashi members minded. It wasn't like they were actually stepping on each other's toes after all and seeing as Airi spent more time in her office at the Ministry then at home, no-one was bothered by the young woman living there.
"I am hahaue." The tall brunette replied with a soft smile on her lips as she turned to face her mother, enveloping the older woman into a tight hug as soon as the short blond was inside the room. Having always been a Mama's Daughter, Airi had never grown tired of hugging and chatting with her mother. She had been the one who mostly supported her in her campaign at bringing the Japanese Magical World into the 21st century after all.
"Good, good." Reira patted Airi's back, squeezing her daughter just as tightly as the tall woman seemed to squeeze her. She was awfully proud of the woman that Airi became and she was just as equally proud of how much Airi cared about their world and how they lived in it. There was not one thing that she wasn't proud of that was for sure. But that might be biased of her because Airi was her daughter.
Though she did worry, the young woman was leaving for such a faraway place, after all, one where Reira had no idea of what was going to be happening. Silently, she hoped that everything would go well and she did pray for a good outcome as well.
"Stop worrying hahaue." Airi scowled as she stepped away and placed her hands on her hips, huffily glaring down at the fifty-year-old woman who had the decency to smile sheepishly, almost like a teenager. "Everything will be fine, I will be fine. I'll make sure to call you the moment I arrive there so you know I'm fine." The reassurance was more for her mother's sake than her own. Despite her age, Reira had poor health and sometimes she worried so much that she ended up in hospital. "Promise me hahaue that you won't stay up all night wondering what I'm doing and take care of yourself... Or I'll order Hiko to take care of you, forcefully if you aren't."
"I promise Airi." Reira laughed as she cupped her daughter's cheeks and pulled her face down to press two kisses to those pink cheeks. "No need to order your personal house-elf to take care of me." But with how much Airi worried about her, Reira had no illusions that her daughter wouldn't do what she had promised. Then again, she worried just as much about Airi, so it was a fair deal really. "Now, your portkey goes off in ten minutes, so here." She placed the red-ribbon in her daughter's hand. "You've got everything with you, right? You haven't forgotten anything?"
"I've got everything in my clutch hahaue," Airi replied. "I tripled checked to make sure everything was there so no worries. I'll be fine." She leant down to kiss her mother's forehead before fully stepping back from the woman to grip onto the small suitcase she had packed, though it was much bigger on the inside, thanks to some nifty charms. "I'll see you in a few days hahaue."
Her mother didn't even have time to say goodbye before Airi was being whisked off by the portkey to the Cayman Islands the meeting place for the Summit.
