| The answer from Mercy didn't seem to come a long time. Sasha was glad that Mercy had said yes to her. So she didn't have to go look for someone else. She realised she didn't really know anyone in this at the moment, who didn't have a partner already.
The Hufflepuff smiled at younger Gryffindor and also nodded her head. "Sure we can head over there now," she said with a small smile and followed her to where she had pointed earlier.
"You know much about duelling?" she asked there now something so before they start, she knows at least with what she is dealing with there now. Herself knowledge of it was very minimal. She will have to remember all the different spells they can use there now. She knows she can't use anything that might really hurt the other person.
After a bit of walking the reached the space near the Jake desk, the place where Mercy had shown. "Ready?" she asked to be sure that Mercy was ready to do it. |

| Mercy really didn't know that much about dueling. Outside of this class and the one she had taken last year, she knew nothing at all. But, she didn't think there was that much to it. It was like dodgeball, or boxing. You tried to hit your opponent, and avoid getting hit in return. She was fairly agile, and had practise with muggle fighting. Plus, she knew one or two offensive spells, so she figured she was pretty much set.
"I know a little," she answered confidently, pulling out her wand. "You?"
As they reached the area that Mercy had indicated, she turned to face Sasha as Jake had shown them to do. "Ready," she confirmed. She bowed, and waited for Sasha to bow back to start the duel.
Once they were both up and facing each other, Mercy decided to cast the first spell. She was most comfortsble taking the offensive position, and figured that was probably her best strategy. She took half a second to think of a good one, the stepped forward.
"Expelliarmus!" she shouted, flourishing her wand at her older opponent. |

| Sasha wasn't sure really how much she remembered about duel spells but she knew a fair share of them. The girl has never really liked the violence much and so she has never really bothered to learn them really.
"Yeah I know a little bit too," she said there back with a small smile. She just figured that since they both don't know much then it would kind of fair duel now.
Sasha did bow back and then she heard that Mercy sent the spell her way. She knew the spell quite well. Since she didn't really wanna lose her wand what she was holding now so she jumped fast to left, so the spell will miss her. It did miss too.
"Nice Try," she said with a small smile there now. She wasn't really sure what spell to send back to Mercy now. She wasn't sure what would be a good idea.
"Stupify," she said there at the end and did the hand moved with the wand too. She had no idea if Mercy will protect it or not. |

| Mercy was ready. Dueling was an adrenaline rush, and she was loving it. It got her in the zone--the same sort of hyper-focused state she entered when she was playing quidditch. As soon as she sent her first spell, she was up on the balls of her feet, trying to anticipate Sasha's next move. What spell would the Hufflepuff throw at her? Nothing too dangerous, since that was against the rules. Maybe a tickling charm? Or a petrification spell? Most things could be countered with "protego," so the spell was already on her lips by the time Sasha started casting.
Her shield wasn't the strongest, but it did the job, and sent Sasha's stunner careening off to the side before breaking. She didn't just want to send the spell straight back at Sasha. That was boring, and a waste of her offensive strengths.
"Flipendo!" she sent back. It was the first spell that came to mind, and she forgot what it did for a second, acting on instinct. Oh, right, she remembered, miliseconds after casting it. Phew, at least that's not too bad. |
