| Once they were truly focused on work, it got easier. As Jake pointed out each aspect of the theme that could be redone or taken out, Azalea made notes, her fingers dancing gracefully over the paper, leaving stylized notes in dark green ink in their wake. As the idea of a winter wonderland emerged, the brunette could picture it more clearly in her head.
Odysseas might be able to arrange for some winter themed creatures, or conjure some up if the originals were too difficult to find. The redheaded witch who taught charms would come up with something that would decorate the occasion suitably while Jake oversaw the safety and stability of the lake.
"I could brew some proper warm cider," she offered as they continued to throw ideas around. "All beverages served would have to be hot given the setting, I don't see why they can't benefit from a bit of potions intervention." After all, even tea was a potion when properly brewed.
"We'll need to ensure the invitations suggest warmer choices of attire. Like... I don't know if you've seen Frozen?
The witch shook her head, unsure what he meant. She didn't have to wait long though as Jake explained it was something that involved warm clothing. The words "look up Frozen" were added to her list in one of the margins. Over the next half an hour, the first piece of paper was filled on both sides and a second retrieved, and then promptly filled. At the end of the session, they at least had a tangible list of ideas and plans going, and a somewhat equal division of tasks they could pursue on their own before meeting again to reconcile what each had done for the event.
And for the first time on over a year... it felt natural. Being with Jake felt... like it would eventually stop hurting one day.
But Azalea also knew that day would not come anytime soon. ________________________________________________ | |
