Eye colour: Dark brown ringed by light amber. They used to sparkle with understanding, laughter and interest once upon a time. Now, though easthetically unchanged, they no longer sparkle with emotion.

Body type: Slender built, very little muscle, a size double zero. Despite this, Azalea is tall and therefore may be described as “slight” but never “small”.
Dress sense: Impeccable as seen to by her grooming staff. Usually dressed lavishly for every occasion, her style speaks to the status of the Murray name so nothing less than perfect is acceptable.

- Instructions: Preferably clear cut and concise as Azalea is not up to filling in the details of an order on her own. She has to be guided through every mundane procedure multiple times until she understands the shorthand for it enough to carry out the process on her own.
- Routine: It aids in further disengaging from the world as she has been doing for the last decade.
- Sunlight: No one understands why but when left to her own devices, Azalea is found near windows or out in the expansive Murray gardens, most often near a grove of mimosa flowers.
Dislikes:
- Azalea is no condition to express a dislike to anything. She will do as instructed mechanically and without opinion. That being said, her body still responds to biological stimuli such as pressure, temperature and pain but while she shivers or bleeds like an ordinary human being, she never expresses the wish to steer clear of such interactions in future or fears repeating them. In a lot of ways, Azalea is merely a humanoid husk, carrying out instructions to the best of her physical ability and breaking down beyond that.

- Not self-sufficient: Azalea is completely unable to take care of herself and needs round the clock supervision to ensure she eats, bathes, dresses, sleeps and exercises.
- Insomniac: Azalea is unable to naturally fall asleep. A decade worth of healers and tests have been unable to determine the cause so the witch is now kept on a nightly diet of dreamless sleep potions which some healers argue is counterproductive to her recovery but there is no known unmedicated way to sleep for her.
- Dependent: Without instructions and supervision, Azalea is nothing. The few scripted interactions she has learned are the only thing with which she can communicate, making it imperative that someone is with her at all times to ensure her safety.

Just as time is divided in BC and AD, Azalea’s life too can be summed up by the great divide of 2013.
Before 2013, Azalea was a budding young Herbologist of American national but residing in Canada. After an exemplary education from Salem Academy of Magic, the young woman continued her work with students by taking on the role of a protege instructor. Vastly capable in her field, she taught and guest lectured on her own special brand of cultivations around the world. Though she never sought an advanced degree, her work spoke for itself. Despite this however, few people knew she was the brilliant mind behind many patented cures and surgical procedures released to select hospitals and herbological institutes.
All in all, she lived as quiet a life as someone in her position could, choosing to direct all the limelight on her then boyfriend who helped take the attention off her thanks to his prominent and equally impressive Quidditch career. Azalea Harrington was a recognizable name in a very niche circle, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
And then - in February 2013 - her life came to an abrupt end.
At least that was what it felt like. Darkness, pain, emptiness, screaming and crying and waiting.
So much waiting. He will always find me…
Azalea was found almost a year and a half later in a crumbling house deep in the woods, a part of Canada known for its frigid winters and unforgiving loneliness. When the house collapsed on top of her, she had but one thought.
They had taken Mimosa away, she was safe. Her daughter would grow up seeing the sun.
Azalea had closed her eyes, waiting for death. And in a way, it had come. It had come in the form of a warm fireplace and the face of a man she knew she should know, but it wasn’t important anymore. Years passed and death continued to come each day, but it never stayed until, one day she was placed on her feet and told to walk.
Her feet complied mechanically, moving one after the other to the joy of the group of healers surrounding her. And from there began the test of her obedience. She walked, she talked, she could be taught things in sequence, she could hold a conversation if supplied with enough sentences and key words, she could, in theory, function as a human being should.
But that’s where the similarities between Azalea and a human being ended. Incapable of doing anything without instructions, Azalea can best be described as the non-sentient plants she once loved. When ordered to sit, she will remain seated until told otherwise, she will stand, walk, jump, dance, twirl and stop, all on command. When left to her own devices, her feet simply seek to land her somewhere in a pool of sunlight. This has often led her to dangerous places like near her bedroom window high up in a tower or walking straight into a body of water, eyes trained on the sunrays sparkling off the shimmering surface.
When it became apparent that Azalea could not be trusted to look after herself no matter how much progress the healers insisted she was making, she was instructed to constantly have Darr – a massive northern wolf raised from birth with the sole aim of protecting her – by her side. Now, the wolf guards her almost as fiercely as his owner, ensuring the walking, talking, doll remains alive, if only in the loosest definition of the word.
Though there is no means for Azalea to measure time, ten years have passed. And in those ten years, she has ceased to be.
Becoming simply “Joshua’s”.

The Harringtons originally started out as Harrington-Royces who trace their origin back to the fourteenth century English empire. The Harringtons and Royces were joined in an abundance of intermarriage that sealed the two clans together both in terms of family and wealth. Their primary source of incomes were their lands which - in addition to yielding good crops through the serfs that worked them - were also rich in minerals.
By the sixteenth century however, the family became more notorious for investment banking and forging international relationships. It is rumored that a large part of their business was funded initially by Pathan nobility from Hindustan, one of which was married into the clan to seal the deal. One of the first pureblooded families to venture into such a business, the Harrington-Royces turned gold into documents and amassed untold wealth through this practice.
However, the goblin rebellion resulted in severe repercussions for the family, dividing them in half. The half that chose to move to America and build a new world and the half that chose to remain in England and take care of their properties there. The ones who moved to the New World dropped the name “Royce” and now traditionally stick with just “Harrington” while the ones in England go by only “Royce”.
