Quidditch World Cup Betting Thread!

It wouldn't be a World Cup without a good betting thread going on now, would it? As the teams have now been announced, the pools are now open, which means you can now pick your favourite team to bet upon in the Quidditch World Cup.

The rules are simple, pick a country and place a bet that your character (IG) would be able to afford to place upon the team. The admins will keep a stock of who has bet, and the entirety of the pot that accumulates from the betting, will be paid to the winner(s) at the end of the World Cup.

Of course, as with all bets, you can pick more than one country and place multiple bets! You can place subsequent bets after your team has been knocked out, up until the final sixteen countries have been announced, so make sure you join in quickly!

Thank you to all those who participated in the betting on the Quidditch World Cup! The Booker has gone over the bets and the payouts are as follows:

Mr Nikolai Kessler: 999,336.35 Galleons are payable (as the person betting is under eighteen, the money will be paid to the guardian)

Miss Clara Goldstein: 675.68 Galleons are payable + ownership of one pink speedboat.

Miss Mimosa Harrington: 5,000 Galleons are payable (as the person betting is under eighteen, the money will be paid to the guardian).


The Booker keeps the 5,000 Galleons bet by Miss Harrington on Republic of Ireland winning their group, and the Car bet on Italy moving through to the final sixteen.

Winnings to be claimed before the camp of the Quidditch World Cup closes down, or else monies will be surrendered to the Booker.
