I was just thinking about you! No, I'm not at the Palace, I'm still in England, we're on a five day field assignment for my university degree, so I'm camping at the moment. Thankfully it is not raining tonight!

How would you like to camp in the summer? We can choose any part of the Palace grounds to camp upon together, just me and you. How does that sound? With marshmallows for toasting! They won't let me toast marshmallows here, though, it's not fair!
You celebrated? What did you do? With other people, or just you two?
Maman and Papa are just doing their usual tours of France to ensure they get both of us all the nice presents! They're talking to the people in charge of the country, and making lots of agreements together for the future. Nothing you need to worry about, they'll be home for Christmas for us both to go home!

Okay, but if something does happen at school, you can tell me. I promise I will never get mad, or upset with you. Especially if it's something with boys, you make sure to tell me then, because boys can be not very nice if you're not stern with them, but I'm sure you already know that because you're the most clever person I know!
Of course I will come to the Christmas dinner with you. Let me know when it is, and I will be there!
We can ask Maman and Papa about America when we're home for Christmas. I would love to come with you to America, of course, but there are a number of things happening at the moment which may make it a little more difficult. If we can't, though, we will try to get Clara over to come and see you.
What are you up to this evening? Hopefully tucked up nice and tightly in a warm bed?

As long as you make them listen, that's all that matters, mon chouchou.
Lots of political things are going on which means travelling to America is not so easy. But, I'm sure Maman and Papa will find a way for us to go out to America and go to your beach. Just let me sort it, though, we don't want to upset them.
If you haven't eaten, you need to go and get some food. Please don't listen to Constance, you really must eat regularly or you will be poorly. I will text Professor Harrington and ask her to escort you to the kitchens if you'd like -- I know its nearing curfew, I don't want you to get in to trouble.
Christmas break will soon be here, mon chouchou, and we can do everything you want to do, I promise. You just need to be big and brave for me at the moment. Can you do that?
