Start of Term Feast (Open to Students and Hogwarts Staff)

Hailey hid in her robes. She was ABSOLUTLEY terrified. She imagined going to Hogwarts would be like if aliens had invaded earth, and Hogwarts was the mother ship. And the professors where just using the "students" as an excuse to perform human experiments on them. Hailey tried explaining this to her mother, but alas, it was no use, and she was still forced to go. Hogwarts was a scary place. It was SO BIG. What if she got lost? She was terrified at that. But her parents assured her that the older students would help. That was what the prefects where there for.

Hailey took a piece of her hair and put it in her mouth. A habit she got sucked into when she was nervous. She was loaded into some boats and they where going to bring her to the mother ship to be dissected and experimented on. And Hailey was terrified. She tried explaining her fears and concerns to a nice young boy that was next to her, but he just laughed in her face! Nobody seemed to understand that this could be a cause for concern! Hailey was alone. But she figured that if she where to survive this, that being alone was her only chance.

Other people didn't know aliens like she did. So she was the only hope if they took over and despised to destroy the human race. Hailey braissed herself as she was walking into the mothership. She looked around and noticed a lot of other people. People who had been there for generations past. They looked like normal human beings who had servived the alien take over and that had made HAILEY calm down just a bit. Maybe this wouldn't be as bad as she thought. But then a hat was placed on her head. Was this some sort of brai n scanner? WHERE THEY GOING TO TAKE CONTROL OVER HER BODY?! The hat said "Slytherin" ok.. She could deal with that. She checked herself over after she was done. She seemed pretty normal. But maybe this was some sort of plot. Maybe this was just the beginning.

Because of his name, Alberi was often first or last in being called for something. And he preferred to be first, of course. Instead he needed to be annoyed and watch every other kid his age be sorted between the four house until he himself is sorted. Couldn't the founders make at least another hat or two? The boy was sure that all of them had some kind of wizard hat which would grow to be the longest somewhat living thing in the world. Why just this one? As if they wanted the kids to tire themselves off while standing on two legs for who knows how long... Simply awful! The boy was not used to such physical activity.

The boy was almost sure in which house he would be. Or which two, at least. Ravenclaw or Slytherin, though the boy wished for Slytherin more. Yes, he was muggle born but that didn't mean he couldn't be in a snake. From reading about the houses he already knew that Hufflepuffs were, overall, useless. Kind and polite... Probably nature lovers, hug givers and rainbow throw-upers. Than there were the Gryffindors, which Alberi saw as stupid and moronic. Most likely the heroes of the day and the most overrated house. Likely to be ones to make the most foolish of all decisions and most likely messy. Horrible, the boy saw them. The Ravenclaws were the smart ones, the ones with the brain. But they also value knowing one thing more than actually using that knowledge. And he guessed that they also tend to memorise something to the core, rather than thinking over it and making there own thoughts and theories. At last were the Slytherins. Alberi saw himself mostly there. Ambitious he was. Cunning as well. For him the were also the smart house - to be cunning and ambitious you need to be smart. Maybe even a genius. Maybe if it didn't accept purebloods at most, it would be the house of the genii. Who knew?

At last his name was called. Well, he was the last standing so there was no other choice besides him. He walked towards the hat, ignoring the glances he was getting from the rest in the hall, the whispers which tried to guess what house he might be in and so on. He examined the hat. It surely was old, anyone can see. Worn by Godric Gryffindor at first and now by every student at Hogwarts... Unbelievable how much people he must have examined until now. If one thing was sure, it was that the house was a professional at its job, as if it worked something else. Or could. It was amazing how one made from just on hat a living and talking... creature thing which can read minds and spends a life time judging people. Surely fun! Sitting on the stool and the hat covering half of his eyes, the hat was quick to talk:

- I see... A complicated one... Yes, you would fit in Slytherin... But no, I shall not... You won't be accepted, your Muggleborn... Ravenclaw? Perhaps. But you would learn nothing. Again, no help. But Gryffindor... There are parts of yourself that you don't know, that you don't wish to except young boy-

- No! - said Alberi in his head, stopping the hat. - You will not put in with a... with a bunch of morons! And I am not a young boy, excuse me!

- I an afraid that is for me to say. And I say that you shall be a GRYFFINDOR!  - The last part gad been shouted out for the whole Great Hall to hear. While the lions began to clap, the boy felt the colour leave from his already pale face. How could it... What did the idiot of a hat think he did? This was horrible! Embarrassing! Awful! Not meeting face to face with anyone, he sat on the edge and began to plan. He won't just sit back and let the hat place him in this house... Even if he had to brake some rules, he will not stay Gryffindor, at least for now...
