Dress sense:. Perhaps a peculiarity for wizards, but a reasonable suspension by muggles Quinn often finds himself wearing slim fitting button down shirts often sporting a thin tie. While working or even in normal outings this is his default with a pair of khaki slacks or if the occasion demands it more fanciful dress pants. His shoes are often black or brown, though he never wears the appropriate long socks, instead sporting ankle athletic socks.
The only time he may break from this tradition is at formal wizarding ceremonies where robes are more desirable. He has often however truly breaking from the norm with short athletic shorts if spotted in the early mornings for a run around the lake.

Likes: (3 minimum)
- Two of his greatest likes often seem at odds with each other. Though, perhaps this relates back to his ability to be distracted. Firstly he loves the serenity of water and nature. Hearing nature and away from the hustle and bustle of others.
- To contrast this, he loves the chaos of the duel. The build up, the trash talk. The passion of two coming to ahead and the noise and banter it brings.
- finally, he loves exerting himself. This expresses itself in different ways. From keeping fit, to practicing for dueling, to pulling on the rod to bring in the next trophy fish. What it comes down to is testing his limits in the throws of competition.
Dislikes: (3 minimum)
- show offs, especially when they don't know the whole story. Those individuals who like to talk faster than the cogs in their brains are turning.
- being called any pet name, especially honey while at a restaurant.
- Lack of will and strength in individuals. Those who lack the ability to stand up for themselves, or allow themselves to be walked over. It resonates somewhere deep inside. Those that try he is willing to fight for, but those without a dog in the fight never deserved to be there in the first place.
Strengths: (3 minimum)
- Of all his hobbies, his greatest love is fishing. Having moved fairly frequently, one consistent is his love of fishing wherever he finds himself. From a young age this has been a stapled past time, and his skill as such as only increased. Learning of magical creatures this has merely upped the ante for his fishing expeditions, and led to bigger trophies.
- Proficient duelist. Having spent some years entering dueling tournaments and making a reasonable living it is easy to say this is his strength, second only to his angling. Quick thinking and creativity has lead him to more than one prize purse. While his spells never enter the realms of extravagance, the use of basics catch many off their feet.
- Talent scout: His ability to analyze, and read people has served him well through his career. Patiently waiting and judging others leads him to be an excellent interviewer, and interviewie. Picking up on what people want, what makes them tick, and what he needs to do.
Weaknesses: (3 minimum)
- He is a sucker for a pretty face. If it's framed by red hair and held up by cowboy boots, we'll consider him a goner. While this seems like a silly weakness, it holds true. Willing to go out of his way, and on occasion be taken advantage of.
- He can be a little to willing to duel, or jump into a competition. Meaning, he can easily fall into meaningless conflict if roused in even sometimes small ways.
- His final weakness is that of Kentucky Bourbon. While fire whiskey is acceptable, it isn't really the same. He has a weakness for spending to much time in the company of his delicious friend, more than one poor decision has been made.
Positive traits: (3 minimum)
- Passion, that is one thing Quinn has in spades. When he finds something to fight for, he won't let it go or give up until the end, even if he gets there in a round about way.
- Problem solving. The ability to quickly solve problems and find solutions under pressure has served Quinn well. In a world he sometimes still has a hard time believing in, this trait has kept him centered.
- Finally of all things Quinn is patient. This goes for waiting professionally or personally. He is willing to bide his time until the opportunity arises. He is also willing to wait on people he believes in. He knows time heals all wounds, and this to shall pass.
Negative traits: (3 minimum)
- At times a sense of arrogance. Not always outwardly displayed, it can interfere with his decision making. Taking on to much, or downplaying the help of others. It is done without much thought, and therefore of all his negative traits it could be considered the worst, by not even realizing he has it.
- Quinn isn't known for his cleanliness. Especially in the professional workforce than be quite the detriment. While his appearance stays clean, his workplace.......well it's a different story
- Distractedness is another core of his personality. This causes him to sometimes appear aloof, or as though he isn't really paying attention. To others this can often be a source of annoyance, to himself this causes more than one case of itchy brain meaning important projects take back seats to call of whims.
Quinn has spent the majority of his life outside the wizarding world of England. Born and raised in America he has only recently moved to Europe.
His magical education was from the magical school of Ilvermony, where he was in the house of Wampus. For him the school sorting ceremony had chosen the thunderbird, but as is all students rights he had the ability to choose, to which he selected the former.
His family while forced to believe magic existed given the hard facts, decided to not speak of it or really acknowledge it's existence. This has at times caused a strain on their relationship and even led to Quinn's muggle profession post graduation.
Moving to the east coast he found himself working on fishing boats and not really giving magic a lot of thought or concern. Sure he kept up on it at times, but overall it didn't impact his life as it might most classically trained wizards. It wasn't until he was 24 that it made a resurgence.
While meeting with old school friends and older bottles of alcohol he was given a dare. An amateur dueling tournament was being held, and his friends badgered him to join. In school he had done moderately well, but he had shined in the schools dueling club. Perhaps not under the best judgment he agreed and threw his hat into the ring.
For him the tournament went well, especially given his long gap in magical training. Finishing third, the old thrill of the duel called him to come back. Quitting his job as a fisherman, he moved in with his friend and began his new career.
It didn't take long for his passion to bleed through into the professional scene and within one year of that tournament he found himself able to make a living off dueling tournaments and matches. Even teaching as a guest at different clubs and organizations.
At 26 he was the American dueling champion, and there seemed only one place to go. His sights became set on an international scene, not willing to only be considered the best in America. Moving to England he began his journey for exactly that.
Unluckily however, in an early match he caught a bad spell to his left side and was grounded. Some hospital time and more magical rehabilitation was required to get himself back on his feet. Coming to the end of his coffers, and still a ways from professional competition and pay, he soon found himself fighting a new fight.
The time following saw a lot of ups and downs for the wizard that would be King. The culmination of a phoenix story was that of a couple odd jobs ( Hogwarts dueling instructor, a bodyguard for some soft handed academic) and finally a large tournament in Italy.
Though he finished second place in that tournament, his return story was in full swing. Vacating his position at Hogwarts perhaps by choice......even if it wasn't his own he returned to the pro dueling circuit in earnest.
Though fate was cruel in many ways. As the top of his form returned, so did a changing world. Where politics invaded freedoms that perhaps had previously been taken for granted. The call for all US citizens hit home, as he couldn't ignore it. He loved the freedom of travel, but his country was something he was unwilling to forfeit. Packing up, most of his things he returned back to the states.
Now Quinn is preparing himself once again for the first big US dueling tournament. A play at a return to normal, the way only sports can bring. Though, a letter by owl has him feeling this will not be the same.

Quinn's family are muggles, and very muggly at that. Not even wanting to acknowledge the magical world. His parents come from respected stock, and aren't bad people, but the shock of another world wasn't something they were willing to deal with. Coming from a comfortable living Quinn hasn't known the great comfort of money except when he was making his own through dueling, nor has he suffered to much starvation. He still maintains contact with them, though as he finds himself engrossed with more magic in his life, he finds it harder to have ties to his parents.
