“Well then, Miss Volkova, would you do me the honour of spending Valentine’s Day with me, in Hogsmeade, or any other place of your choosing, as friends. I promise that I’ll pay for everything we do, and anything you want on the day, so long as it makes you happy.”
Nerisei had to try really hard to keep herself from squealing. Thankfully, no sound escaped her lips as Dimitri officially asked her to be his Valentine for this year. She had accepted that they were going as friends, but truthfully, Nerisei didn’t care. She was so happy that she would be spending the day with the boy she wanted all along. So it didn’t matter what title they were going to give to it. Dimitri was still going to be there for her.
But as he mentioned that he promised to pay for anything she really wanted on that day, as long as it brought a smile on her lips, Neri shook her head. She didn’t want him to pay for something, all she wanted was to spend the day with him. It was enough. No fancy dinners or presents of any sort. He was enough to make her happy. More than enough.
“And, please don’t cry, I’m trying to make you happy.”
And you do.., the girl thought as she bit her lip.
“Dimitri, I would love to spend the day with you. But, you will most certainly not pay for anything. And I insist on that.”
Smiling at him, she continued. “And you make me happy. Really. Now, if you allow me, I would like to escort you back to your chambers, Master Moreau.”
A giggle escaped her lips as she picked up her bag. “Just making sure you get back in one piece.”
After Dimitri picked up his things, they both left the Study Area and walked back to Ravenclaw Tower in peace. Life was good. For now.
