Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] Empty
PostSubject: Varför, älskling? [Dimitri]   Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] EmptySun Oct 25, 2020 12:23 pm

The Christmas Holidays were over, and Nerisei was forced to return to her normal, boring life. Lessons, Quidditch, and and work. Well, perhaps her life was not boring, since there were a million and one things to do, but Nerisei needed some sort of... excitement, something that had been lost after Dimitri had decided to play her the way he did. But how could a teenager return to her normal life, after the amazing moments she had the chance to experience over the Holidays?

Nerisei had been asked to leave Hogwarts, one week before the Holidays, in order to attend a party and a couple of photoshoots, on behalf of Kit Harrington's company. The witch had no expected things to go that well, but Neri had actually managed two successful photoshoots, that made Kit's company proud, but also, she had managed to find someone to help her forget all about her broken heart and sad life. Or well, he seemed to have found her, after he had saved her from a crazy young man, who seemed to believe that all models were there to please his... needs.

Jacques Clement was the man every woman dreamed of. He was incredibly handsome, knew how to speak and how to treat a lady, and had made Nerisei feel like the most beautiful woman on earth. At first, the young witch had been wary, unsure as to why he would want to help her out of the dreadful situation she had found herself in, but as more time passed, Nerisei found herself enjoying his company more and more. Until... they were eventually alone, out in the beautiful balcony, staring down at the people who were walking the streets of Venice. Nerisei had not intended to fall for his charms. She had never even believed a man like him would want to have anything to do with her, but the moment their lips met, it was game over for the young woman.

The night had been eventful, with the young Ravenclaw witch feeling happy that she had made the decision to follow him back to his hotel. But the next day had been just as magical. Jacques had shown her around the city, always making sure she was safe and happy and attended to her every need. For once in her life, Nerisei was feeling appreciated. A princess, someone would say. But sadly, her trip to Italy had to come to an end. The Frenchman had escorted her back to her agent, bidding her goodbye with a kiss, and leaving her alone to deal with her mixed feelings and worries.

New Year's Eve was spent with her Grandparents, in Sweden. Her mother was, once again, attending an event on behalf of her Gallery, whilst her father was on a business trip, in God knows where. Her grandparents had been more than enough, but Nerisei knew there was something going, something that everyone was trying to hide, but the witch was not a kid anymore. She could see the distance between her parents, and she couldn't help but wonder, what the hell was going on. Were they... divorced? And they had no mentioned a thing? No, they couldn't be. Her parents loved each other. They were High School sweethearts!

Thankfully, her mind had been taken off of those tormenting thoughts, by the sound of her phone buzzing, signaling she had a new text. Her breath had almost caught in her throat as she sprinted to her phone, expecting to see a message from Dimitri, wishing her a Happy New Year, and perhaps apologising for everything. Had he sent her a gift?
Unlocking the device, Nerisei froze. It was not Dimitri, but it was none other than Jacques Clement. The only man she had not expected to text her.

"Happy New Year, Miss Volkova, I wish you all the best for the year! J x"

The sadness that had threaten to take over her, at the absence of Dimitri's name, had soon disappeared, and a big smile had now taken place on her face. Truthfully, Nerisei had not believed that Jacques would remember her at all, after the couple of days they spent together, but he had proven her wrong once again, and Neri couldn't be more glad. It seemed that fate was playing a very dangerous game with her, yet Nerisei was way up in the clouds to see that.

Days passed, holidays came to an end, and lessons were officially back, therefore, the witch was forced to study, in order to keep up with the good grades. She had promised herself that, once again, she was going to succeed. Studying at the University and becoming a Potions Mistress had been her dream since she was eleven, and she was not going to give that up for a couple of boys.

In one of the Library's many quiet corners, Nerisei could be seen lost in her book, reading about advanced Potion Making, whilst keeping notes. It was obvious that the witch did not want to be disturbed, but that did not stop the Moreau heir from disrupting her peace. At the sound of her name being called, Neri sighed, and slowly lowered her book on the table, her eyes landing on the one person that had caused her the most pain. The one person she had decided to trust. The man that had broken her heart.

"Can I help you with something?" The Ravenclaw witch asked indifferently, not wanting to give Dimitri the chance to see her sad. He did not deserve her tears. No man did.

Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Varför, älskling? [Dimitri]   Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] EmptySun Oct 25, 2020 12:24 pm

Dimitri knew that the meeting in the prefect's bathroom had not gone according to plan. Nerisei's reaction had not been what he had expected to happen, he'd thought they could walk back to the Common Room together, and... move forward from the moment. The Moreau heir had been wrong, and Nerisei Volkova had fled the bathroom before he could stop her.

From there, Anne had tried to intercede, and Dimitri had tried to talk to Nerisei. The younger witch had shut him down, told him to get out, and Dimitri had done exactly that. She was being vastly unreasonable in the whole situation, if you asked Dimitri, and thus he had decided to leave her to it. After all, it wasn't his fault, not really.

By the end of the school term, the duo had not reconciled their differences.

Dimitri kept checking the phone Nerisei had given him in case she messaged him, he kept trying to talk to her in the halls, or at meals, but Nerisei had given him the cold shoulder. The term shuddered to an end with the Christmas break, and Dimitri left the castle to go home for the holidays.

The holidays were lacklustre for Dimitri, with his eighteenth birthday coming up soon, the Moreau household was being littered with proposals from other well off Pureblood families seeking audience for their daughters to meet with Dimitri. His parents had accepted one such invite in the Christmas holidays. Baruska had been a plain looking witch from Slovakia who's English was well formed, but not natural when it left her lips. She had many talents, for which both her parents and herself clung to as the selling point to her betrothal seeing as her looks hampered her.

Baruska had been interested in knowing Dimitri as they sat just out of earshot from their parents, but Dimitri had no interest in the woman. Having the idea of marriage presented to him had made the Moreau heir wish for Nerisei's company once more, something that he knew he had to put right...

The Moreau's had seen the family off with a promise of being in touch, but Dimitri's answer to his parents question once the Slovakian family had left had been a firm 'no'. Baruska was not marriage material.

Dimitri had returned to his rooms that evening and pulled out his phone, opening his messages he sat looking at the empty screen, trying to work out what to say to Nerisei.

I'm sorry, Neri… I've been a jerk. We need to talk.

Dimitri had erased it, though, and started again.

Neri, how are you? When are you free?

But again, he erased it.

The pattern continued for a handful of different texts, before Dimitri gave up. He didn't know what to say to the witch, and if she wasn't texting him, didn't that say... didn't that say enough? Dimitri had closed the Messages window, and instead opened the news, scrolling idly through news of America's turbulence, and the Queen's Christmas speech, or the Clement's Christmas party. There was nothing of interest in the news...

Until he had scrolled so far he'd gotten to what he fondly called 'Trash News'. News of celebrities, worthy of the title or not, filled this part, and normally Dimitri would have turned the app off at this point. Except... There in a beautiful green dress -- Armani, the newspaper denoted -- stood Nerisei with the most vile of creatures in the world, Jacques Clement.

The Moreau heir's jaw set in that moment, his scowl deepening the more he looked at Nerisei in the man's arms. Smiling. Much too familiar. Taking a screenshot of the article, Dimitri had turned the phone off, settling back in the covers with a look that could kill upon his features.

***

January had come in to being, a New Year, but not a happy one. Getting back to school -- Ellie would not leave him alone on the train because he'd become 'more broody' than normal -- was a chore, but Dimitri knew he had to be there. They had made it back to the school, unpacked and settled for the night in a blur, but the next day, Dimitri knew what he had to do.

Nerisei had headed to the library on her own, a much needed miracle in that moment. Dimitri had strode with purpose in to the cacophony of aisles of books, looking for Nerisei. The days since he'd found out had not lightened his mood on the subject, and he was now postive Nerisei was sleeping with the Clement heir. He found the witch in a corner on her own, and before he could stop himself, Dimitri had spoken her name, harsher than he had ever done so before.

"Can I help you with something?"

Reaching in to his pocket, Dimitri pulled out his phone and found the picture, unceremoniously dropping it upon the desk before Nerisei so that she could see it. He didn't care about breaking the damn phone, the Ravenclaw male was simply not happy with anything that related to Nerisei any more.

"What is this?" He demanded of her, looking from the phone that showed a smiling Nerisei with the Frenchman, and then to her. It was quite clear Nerisei had upset Dimitri, but Dimitri could not, for a moment, see reason.

Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Varför, älskling? [Dimitri]   Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] EmptySun Oct 25, 2020 12:24 pm

Not once, since the day they had returned to the castle, did Nerisei think that Dimitri would eventually find out about Jacques Clement. Truthfully, she was just a model, who happened to be at the same party as the prestigious Clement heir, but they were not truly together. When they had left the party and moved towards the Balcony, where they could be undisturbed, Nerisei had not believed that in the middle of the damn night, a paparazzi would be capturing photos of the duo, looking... looking way too intimate. Oh, but you were intimate with him, weren't you?, the voice in her head reminded her, making the young witch groan inwardly. She hadn't meant to hurt Dimitri. She hadn't meant to place herself on the newspaper. She was just... having fun.

But as Dimitri called out her name, harsher than ever, the brunette witch felt her heart sink. No, Dimitri had not come here to apologise, he had not come here to ask her to be hid girlfriend, or tell her he misses her, just as much as she was missing him. Dimitri had come here to fight, to hurt her more than he already had, and Neri was not prepared for it. She didn't want to fight. The witch was simply done trying to fix something that he was constantly breaking, as if it was his to break, in the first place.

As his mobile was tossed --some could say slammed-- on the table before her, Nerisei closed her book and looked around, making sure no one was staring back at them. A few heads had turned, for a mere second, but they went back to their homework. Taking a deep breath, Nerisei put her book aside, after marking the page with a silk ribbon, and turned to Dimitri. Her eyes trailed from him, down to the phone that showed her, in Jacques arms, looking happy. She had been happy. And she deserved to be, after what Dimitri had put her through. And now he was here to what? Judge her for not crying over him like a baby?

"What is this?"

Nerisei wanted to snap at him, tell him that it's none of his business, and turn back to her book. Pretend that nothing was going on, just like he had been pretending to like her all this time. Dimitri was not getting a taste of his own medicine, and he was fuming. It didn't feel nice being left, did it?
"That is a phone, and let me remind you, it can break. So, refrain from throwing it around like a boomerang." Nerisei answered, being smart ass as usual. If Dimitri had come here expecting to make her admit she was in a relationship with Jacques, he was vastly mistaken.

Nerisei's answer was not in the slightest bit helpful to Dimitri in that moment, the man's jaw set firmer -- if ever that was possible -- than it had previously, and his eyes had a darkness in them that showed he was not enjoying being toyed with in such a manner.

"Don't play with me, Nerisei." Dimitri warned the witch, pointing to the picture still visible on the screen between them. His eyes remained on the witch, watching for a visible sign, a notion, an inkling of what had happened between the witch before him and the Frenchman pictured.

"Why were you pictured with Jacques Clement?" He demanded of her, because he deserved that much, didn't he? If she hadn't wanted him, why did she not just say so, rather than creating such a public display of... well, infidelity, that was all Dimitri could see it as.

"Did you sleep with him?" The Moreau continued, bristling slightly at the thought of Nerisei and the Clement male entwined in a hotel room, taking what had been his because Nerisei had been irrational back in December. Was this revenge? Did she think he would accept this behaviour? Let it go?

Because if Nerisei thought he was going to do either, she was sorely, sorely mistaken.

PostSubject: Re: Varför, älskling? [Dimitri]   Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] EmptySun Oct 25, 2020 12:24 pm

The more Nerisei was staring at Dimitri, the easier it was for her to see the signs of his anger. Dimitri's eyes had darkened with a hate she had never seen before, and his jaw had set, making him look, for the first time in all the years she had been watching him from afar, extremely dangerous. It had never occurred to the young witch, that the calm, sweet man she had once met, could turn into a monster. Though, after he had played her like that, Nerisei should have been prepared for pretty much anything.

"Don't play with me, Nerisei."

The witch clicked her tongue, breaking their eyes contact. He was beyond fuming, and Nerisei could hear the warning, lacing his every word. What was he going to do, exactly? Harm her? Hadn't he already done that? Dimitri Moreau had no right to be angry, or jealous, and he definitely had no right to come asking for explanations, when it was him, who had decided to walk away from her, and not the other way around. Just because he was a Pureblood, it didn't mean he could always get his way.

"Why were you pictured with Jacques Clement?"

"It is none of your business!" Nerisei snapped through clenched teeth, glaring back at the wizard who was standing there, staring at her as if she had commited the worst possible crime. Neri belonged to no one, even though she once wanted to be his. If he wanted to claim her, he could have done that long ago, but he had thrown away every single chance she had given him. And now? Now he was accusing her of what? Cheating on him? How could she cheat, when there was no relationship to begin with?

"Did you sleep with him?"

"And what if I did?! I am not your girlfriend, remember?" The Ravenclaw witch countered, glaring daggers at Dimitri. How could she have been so blind?! The Dimitri she had met was a kind man, a true gentleman... but as they grew closer Nerisei discovered he was none of those. Dimitri had no idea what he wanted, and refused to acknowledge them as an item. No matter what Nerisei did, he still refused to... to express what he felt for her. And now, now she knew exactly why he had been avoiding to tell her.

"I do not belong to you, Dimitri. You had your chance, and you threw me away. Now, someone else is enjoying what you deemed not good enough!" The witch whisper-yelled, grabbing her book and standing up, in an attempt to leave. She was not going to have this conversation with him. Especially in the middle of the damn Library!

PostSubject: Re: Varför, älskling? [Dimitri]   Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] EmptySun Oct 25, 2020 12:25 pm

"It is none of your business!"

"Of course it's my business!" Dimitri countered almost instantly, but he didn't state why he believed that to be the case. He didn't have to explain himself to the witch now, did he? No. Dimitri was more than allowed that much, in his own mind, at least.

But Nerisei only made it worse as she didn't tell him whether she had, or had not slept with Jacques Clement. Dimitri took that to be a yes, yes she had slept with the Frenchman, which only made this whole situation worse. After all, if she hadn't slept with him, wouldn't she just have told him as much?

"I never said you weren't my girlfriend! You're being unreasonable!" Dimitri threw back at the witch. It was all she had been throughout the whole time they'd been together in the sense of the word they hadn't actually defined.

As the witch tried to move out of the cubby hole in the library, though, Dimitri blocked her exit. "Threw you away?" Dimitri scoffed, shaking his head at that idea. "You were the one who ran away. You were the one who told me to get out when I came to talk things through. You were the one who refused all contact with me.

"And now, now you're the one off with other guys!" Dimitri continued, the emotion clear in his face that he was not at all understanding how Nerisei had drawn all of this together as being his doing.

"Are you trying to punish me? Is that what this is? Something goes wrong in the Prefect's Bathroom between us, and you decide that that isn't enough, so you have to take it a step further and try to humiliate me?" The Ravenclaw male was not used to talking so frankly in such situations, he hadn't wanted to talk to Nerisei like this, but she was making a fool of him, and nobody in the world was allowed to do that.

"Because, if you'd rather be his whore than be with me, you only had to say, Nerisei. You only had to say."

Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Varför, älskling? [Dimitri]   Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] EmptySun Oct 25, 2020 12:25 pm

As Dimitri insisted it was indeed his business, Nerisei couldn't help but scoff. He was being stupid, so, so stupid, and Nerisei did not have the patience to deal with him, at that moment. Dimitri had grown to become more and more angry, something that made the brunette witch feel uneasy. Would he dare to raise his hand on her? It was impossible to know his limits, at this point, and there was definitely some fear taking over the young woman.

"I never said you weren't my girlfriend! You're being unreasonable!"

"You never said I was, either!" Nerisei snapped back at him, her own anger rising threateningly. Dimitri was pushing all the wrong buttons, even though he knew very well how explosive the Ravenclaw witch could get. "And how dare you call me unreasonable! Have you taken a look in the mirror lately?!" But, of course, the male would not actually listen to her words. He was too far gone, believing a story that was not true, but the young girl was not going to tell him otherwise. He did not deserve to know anything.

Exiting the room, before something worse happened, would be the wisest choice. Nerisei had tried to move past the broody wizard, and towards her freedom, when Dimitri's figure stopped her. Nerisei took a step back, glaring up at him, ready to push him away, when he decided to speak again. Though, the more he spoke the worse he was making the situation for himself, and Nerisei was really close to hexing his head off.

Listening to him blame her for every single thing, caused Nerisei to close her eyes in frustration and turn away from him. She did not want to hear him out, she did not want to accept his lies, yet he was forcing her to stay here and listen to all the vile words that were coming out of his mouth. He was supposed to be the man of her dreams, the man that would love her, the man-

"Are you trying to punish me? Is that what this is? Something goes wrong in the Prefect's Bathroom between us, and you decide that that isn't enough, so you have to take it a step further and try to humiliate me?"

"Punish you?!" Neri asked, whirling around to face him. Tears were already threatening to fall down her cheeks, but she was so determined to stay strong, she wouldn't allow them to fall. "I am not punishing anyone, Dimitri! Yes, I told you to go away, when you came to find me, and what did you do? You ran. You fled. You did the only thing you actually know how to do! People that are in love, fight for what they have, Moreau. They don't just sit around and wait for a miracle to happen. If you wanted me to be your girlfriend, then you could have grown a pair of balls and ask me!

"But no. You come here --what a nerve you have!--, and accuse me of infidelity, of lying, of trying to hurt you. Unlike you, Moreau, I have feelings! I don't play with people, and I definitely don't punish them."
Taking a deep breath, Nerisei shook her head, not able to believe how much of an asshole he was being right now. "I am not cold and empty, like you." The witch whispered, feeling defeated. How could he drain all the energy from her?

"Because, if you'd rather be his whore than be with me, you only had to say, Nerisei. You only had to say."

Nerisei froze. Her eyes lifted from the floor to stare into Dimitri's, and her jaw set, much like his had done a moment ago. She didn't really know for how long she had been looking at him, but only at the sound of slapping, did she snap out of the trance she was in. Her hand was stinging, after it had made contact with Dimitri's cheek, and her heart was aching, even more than before, if possible. How could he be so...

"I'd rather be his whore, a billion times, than be your girlfriend."

By that moment, the whole Library had fallen silent, and was currently watching the exchange between the duo. Nerisei wiped away the tears that had not yet fallen, before pushing past Dimitri, and the Librarian, Grayson Hughes, who was currently walking towards them, and making her way out of the Library. She was done with Dimitri Moreau.

He was dead.

PostSubject: Re: Varför, älskling? [Dimitri]   Varför, älskling? [Dimitri] EmptySun Oct 25, 2020 12:25 pm

Anger. That was the source of all the misguided words of the Moreau heir in that moment. He did not for a moment think that Nerisei was a whore, he didn't really think she was trying to hurt him either, but the picture of the woman he was... of Nerisei and Jacques Clement had made him see red, because she had picked the one person in the world that would have made the whole situation ten times worse than it was.

Yes, he was angry with Nerisei, because she wasn't playing in to his hand like he had expected. She wasn't sat apologising, she wasn't telling him that what he'd assumed was wrong, that she hadn't done the unthinkable with Jacques Clement. Nerisei was not moving to try to calm him down, to talk to him and tell him everything was going to be okay. No, Nerisei was adding fuel to the roaring fire, and it meant whatever words came to mind were being said.

Irrational though it was, because Nerisei was hurting him, so he was trying to play the card right back.

The irrational side of Dimitri hadn't, of course, seen the slap coming. He was expecting Nerisei to cave in to him, but all his words had done was ignite a burning fire in her too. The collision of her hand to his face had thrown Dimitri completely off, and he took a couple of steps back in shock, his hand moving to his face as she moved past him, livid in that moment as she insisted she would rather be Jacques Clement's whore than his girlfriend.

The library was quieter than ever, the silence deafening as everyone sat staring at the duo. Dimitri's eyes followed Nerisei out of the library, spotting the Transfiguration professor heading his way, Dimitri hurried out of the library, not daring to look the man in the eye as his cheek stung as it glowed a bright red.

Nerisei might have had the last word in that moment, but Dimitri was far, far, far from finished. He would make her see reason if it was the last damn thing he did.
