| It had been ten days since the witch had last seen Kevin. Kit... Kenneth... Ten days in which the witch's head had just span with question after question.
Had the man meant anything he'd ever said to her?
Should she trust him at all with what he'd said?
Did this change anything?
Or did it change nothing?
The fact the man was Mimosa's grandfather... The witch didn't know how to feel about that.
But she knew that she had loved Kevin. She had wanted to be with Kevin. She had been with Kevin, however informally, for months now. And yet, the uncertainty was getting to the point of chewing her up entirely.
Which hadn't helped Madison or Kate who had wanted to know how well their plan had worked out. Their texts had gone unanswered because Elenore hadn't wanted to admit to the fact that she had fell vastly short of their expectations. Also, she could hardly tell them that the man they knew as Kevin was... not really Kevin at all. Magic here was not something Elenore could talk about freely, and not knowing whether either Madison or Kate had any such abilities, Elenore had found herself alone in the library at Julliard, reading over her written assignment from her Advanced Counterpoint class that was due later in the week. It was definitely not her best work... it wasn't her best work by a long shot, but the witch couldn't find herself able to concentrate this week.
Everything just kept pulling her mind back to man who had left her in tears on Valentine's Day.
The witch's fingers had toyed with her pen on the page beside her, the notes of the piece she'd been composing without realising continued down the page. The muted piece which when put to the piano would be so soft, slow, and broken it reflected the witch's mind quite clearly. This always happened when Elenore found herself feeling something deeply, and the sad pieces already outweighed the perky, lively pieces she'd written in her life.
Another would not hurt, she was almost sure of that. ________________________________________________
