Potions - Lesson One (Fifth - Seventh Years) Empty
PostSubject: Potions - Lesson One (Fifth - Seventh Years)   Potions - Lesson One (Fifth - Seventh Years) EmptyTue Sep 01, 2015 7:35 pm

With the first lesson out of the way, James had almost settled back in to the ways of the teaching once more. He still wasn't overly happy about being back at the castle, but his mood was settling. That wasn't to say he was going to be nice to anyone though, so the students had better think again if they thought he was going to be a push over the first lesson back.

A small flick of his wand brought two words to the board for the observant students that he may or may not have in his class. Volubilis Potion was the clue of the lesson that day. He hoped most sincerely that those who didn't know what this was looked it up before the lesson, because he was not going to allow for slackers.

Checking the clock above the door, James could see that there was not long before his students arrived. This didn't do much for his mood, needless to say.

After Ancient Runes, Adaline had made her way back into the castle and straight towards the Potions' room where her next lesson was. She wasn't exactly sure how long she could take Potions for seeing as she was pregnant but she wanted to continue it for as long as she could until the medi-witch told her to drop the subject.

Stepping into the room, Adaline made her way towards the front where her seat usually was. Placing her bag on the floor, Adaline nodded her head in greeting to the Professor before turning to the board.

Volubilis Potion

Furrowing her brows, Adaline tried to remember what that potion did. She had read about it over the summer and she was quite sure that she would be able to make it.

It wasn't an easy potion but it also wasn't that hard to make. Biting her lower lip, she nodded her head. She would be able to make it and she would be able to answer questions about it.

Auorra had grabbed her bag and went to Potoins. Potoins luckily was a speciality of the Le Fays. So she had made sure to review the entire Potoins book over the summer. She was intelligent and tried to use it for those who she thought was important. Auorra quickly took a seat next to Adaline.

Scanning the word she saw the words Volubilis Potion. Thanking the fates she smiled triumphantly because she had looked it up and memorized what she can for the lesson. After all she couldn't fail Potoins her accing subject. She hated the Proffessor because he was a mudblood but even she got to admit he can teach like a Pureblood professor. After this thought Auorra schooled her face into a non emotional face and greeted the Proffessor.

She looked at the Proffessor and said coldly," Hello Proffessor Balan." Auorra normally spoke coldy to teachers unless she was trying to suck up next to someone.

With Potions as his second lesson of the day, Aiden didn't really have far to walk to get his bag and then go into the classroom. Stepping inside, he gave a slight sneer Auorra when he heard her tone of voice. Oh how he hated that obnoxious sound. Sure he may not know the girl but she was a fellow Slytherin and while she might be the year above him, she still managed to grate on his nerves more times then he could count.

Slipping through the desks, he moved to sit next to the only Ravenclaw in the room for the moment. Adaline was her name he believed but he couldn't be exactly sure. Sitting down, he gave her a soft smile before nodding his head in greeting to the Professor. "Hello Professor." He murmrued, his eyes flicking to the board before a soft smirk appeared on his lips.

Volubilis Potion

The voice changing potion. He had been tutored on all the sixth and seventh year potions by his siblings so he pretty much knew what this potion was and he couldn't wait to start the lesson.

Potions was by far Kai's least favourite subject and he wondered what on earth would he ever use the damn subject for anyway.Sulking, he entered the classroom and greeted the professor before sitting near, guess who, Adaline. He was sort of thankful that no one had asked him about the child yet at the same time, he almost couldn't wait for someone to ask him.

It was only his second class of the day, and because of that, Kai was still pretty tired from being up late. He had been reading and rearranging him area in the dormitory when he remembered that he should probably have gone to bed a bit earlier.

The boy had so much on his mind lately that he was shocked he was still standing. He had t worry about Adaline and the baby and his grades. He had to worry about a job so he could pay for a house to support them, but most of all, he had to worry that he wasn't treating her like a princess. She never had any complaints, but for some reason, Kai felt like he wasn't good enough for her.

Sebastian was, truth be told, not overly good at Potions, he was a little clumsy. Which, in a room where slight mistakes could mean disaster was not the best mix in the world. But, he kept trying in the hope he would get better at the subject. After all, practice made perfect, or something like that, the Brits said.

Slipping in to the Potions classroom, Sebastian assessed his options in seats. Seeing his friend was sat with a girl from his house, Sebastian frowned a little bit, before moving to the desk behind the two of them. Well, Sebastian told himself grumpily, you shouldn't be surprised. Almost everyone in this castle is straight, you weren't likely to get with him anyway.

Now, in something of a sour mood, Sebastian pulled his books from his bag and opened it to a random page, pretending to read up on the subject as he stewed inwardly with jealousy.

After DADA, Ethan had headed down towards the dungeons for Potions. He was pretty sure that Professor Balan didn't like him and to say the least, Ethan wasn't fond of the subject, but he thought the professor was okay. He dragged his feet on the way down and once again, wasn't the first person in the room.

Looking around for a seat he considered sitting next to the Ravenclaw boy, but he changed his mind and sat next to this Slytherin girl he didn't know. He didn't glance at her, but smiled in the professor's direction. Ethan glanced over and frowned. He had heard of her but couldn't remember her name. She was said to be a bit rude at times, but everyone needed a friend, right? He pulled out his book and scanned over the potion praying silently that it wouldn't be to hard for him.

The class slowly filled up, and James didn't bother to acknowledge any of the greetings he was given. Instead, the professor sat quietly until the clock got to the hour mark. The moment it did, James stood from his desk and moved to the door, closing it and then moving back to the front of the class. "Morning." He greeted the class, though his tone was not overly welcome.

James liked to be harder on the older years, mostly so they pushed themselves harder, but also to get them more used to real life where nothing was going to be given to them easily.

"For those who have been observant, you will see the topic of today's lesson. Can anyone tell me what the potion does?" James asked, looking at the many faces in the room expectantly. "Or, if you cannot remember that, does anyone know what goes in to the potion?" He prompted, looking for more than one person to have an answer on this if possible.
