| The patronizing tone that the witch put on in that moment was not one James liked, but, he decided to wait this out a little more. Daphne was hot, and thus she got a little more slack than most women. Giving only a single nod as she told him to sit, and patted his leg, James leant against the bar, watching her move towards the music box.
As the music changed, James appreciated the fast beat, already knowing where this was going as Daphne moved back towards him. He couldn't complain, of course, even if it had been predictable, and as the witch started to dance on him, James' hands moved to her waist, enjoying the moment, and not caring for any of the repercussions that were likely to come his way.
"You're allowed to go as far as you wanna."
That, brought a smile to James' lips as he thought about how he wanted to move on from this. Whilst the dance was nice... he was not an overly patient man. So, leaning in once more, James pressed a deeper kiss to the witch's lips, making it known that he meant business. "How about I take you back to my place, and you can continue that dance... in a much more satisfying manner?" James asked against her lips, his eyes sparkling with mischief in that moment. She only had to agree, and he could whisk her away in a second. |

| Daphne's head rang. She was sure she was dreaming at that very moment. That her dream was one of those surreal dreams that made her feel so hazy and lost and confused. She didn't like it at all. She felt lost and so unsure of everything that had happened in the past 24 hours, that her entire life seemed like a lie. She pictured herself dancing in the bar. But was it part of her dream? Or had it actually happened? There was a different part of herself that she hadn't met yet. The one who was dancing in front of random men that she had only met five minutes previously, and the one that was so self conscience about everything that she couldn't even sing in the shower.
Daphne missed that shy innocent girl that she had once been. The shy innocent girl from before wouldn't have even talked to anybody in the bar, let alone a strange man. That was when she realized that Daphne hated who she was at that very moment. The girl starring in the strange man's bathroom mirror wasn't who Daphne wanted to be. Daphne didn't sleep around. She was sure if her mother knew about what she had done, she would be ashamed.
Daphne leaned against the sink and looked at her battered reflection once more. She hoped that this was the last time she would see that girl. The hungover slut, as she would call it. At this time, Daphne knew that she would be above who she was right then. She pulled her hair into a pony tail and grabbed the dress she had worn the night before. Once she pulled it on, she was ashamed even more. Was this how she went out? This wasn't her.
The Daphne she knew wore long pretty frilly dresses with scarves and cardigans, not slutty short dresses that showed so much boob. Daphne wanted to cover up, but if she had any dignity, she knew she would have to walk out of the strange man's apartment with her head held high. And that was exactly what she did, leaving that Daphne behind her, and coming out a better person. |

| Last night's game had been, well, very little effort on James' part. For that much, he was glad because he really didn't like the girls who put up a fight when they both knew where the night was going to end. Daphne hadn't pretended that this wasn't going anywhere, and for that much, James had been highly grateful.
After another drink at the bar, James had taken her back to his apartment. Another drink had been enjoyed there, and from there, the night had grown on to much, much more enjoyable activities than a dance in the bar.
A good night, one James had enjoyed very much, but then he rarely didn't enjoy himself when he took someone home.
When he woke the next morning, groggy and with a heavy head from the alcohol the night before, James rolled over, finding the other side of the bed vacant. Listening, he could not hear any movement in the flat. Gone, James decided, smirking to himself as he got up, stretched out and moved to the shower.
That, was always the best part of a good night, when the person he brought home was gone before he woke up. He wasn't much in to the pillow talk in the morning, or the awkwardness of the other party leaving. No, this was, he didn't have to pretend that he cared for another woman who was just lucky enough to catch his eye for a fleeting moment. |
