"I wouldn't have brought us here if I wasn't sure. In fact, I bet my life on it being safe."
The response was one Finley was almost sure would be coming. Even in a panic - which he was, even if he wasn't falling apart openly - Finley could work out the logical thinking behind what Madison had done. It was a good plan, but they only knew that there were people in the castle. They had no idea how many people there were, or where they were. And yet, the Ravenclaw began to nod his assent to the situation, still worrying on his bottom lip.
He trusted Madison though, for reasons that he couldn't explain, he trusted her with his life.
When the Slytherin explained that the attackers were in Hogwarts and not Hogsmeade, Finley wondered how on Earth she could know that. The wonderment, however, was not voiced as Finley slowly nodded. "If... if you're sure." He replied, managing to keep his stutter at bay, even if only momentarily.
Finley, however, did not move towards the exit that Madison had been reaching for. No, instead of the exit, Finley moved closer to Madison, slowly and uncertainly putting his arms around the witch's waist and drawing her close to him. Finley was not big on hugs, he never really had been, but in that moment, it seemed like the right thing to do in that moment, given that his life had undoubtedly been saved by the younger witch stood before him.
"T-thank you." Finley breathed, counting to ten in his head - ten seconds was a good enough time for a hug, right? The Ravenclaw thought so, and as he got to ten, he let go, taking a step away and allowing himself to exhale once more.
The simple action was a big thing to Finley, and now that it was finished, he allowed himself a small smile. However, he realised a moment later he'd been looking at Madison and smiling, not weird at all!
Hurrying to the exit of the tunnel, Finley pushed it open, and stood aside for Madison to go first. She knew where they were heading, so he'd allow her to be in charge of where and what they did next. So long as they were safe, there was absolutely nothing more to worry about.
