Muggle Studies (All Years) Empty
PostSubject: Muggle Studies (All Years)   Muggle Studies (All Years) EmptyTue Nov 03, 2015 8:50 am

Daphne was a little shaken up after the attack. But she had to put on a brave face for her students. They needed reassurance that everything was alright. They were well protected now, and nothing was going to hurt them ever again. She was sure the Ministry and Headmaster Jameson was going to make sure of that. Daphne had helped with the cleaning process and it had taken a lot to get the castle back to normal. But they had done it, and they had done a fantastic job of it.

Now Daphne could breath a little bit as she prepared her next lesson. She knew other professors where going to do lessons on how to defend yourself in a dire situation like the attack. She knew the students would want a break from it, so she decided to do something more fun. Something to get them excited. So she gathered up all her board games and set them a crossed the room. She decided to be nice, and not make them do homework either.

She wrote on the board:

MUGGLE BOARD GAMES

She hoped that this would get their minds off of everything that had happened in the past week. They were just children after all and they didn't need to worry about being attacked in their own back yard.

Muggle Studies had never been a subject Finley needed, but he took the lesson for the break it gave from the others. It was a bit of fun to Finley, learning about his own world from the point of view of his magical friends. It gave him a better understanding of what they did and didn't know of his world, and for that much, he was grateful.

Finley had, of course, done his homework as Professor Moon had asked. His essay was longer than the professor had asked for, because he'd gotten too excited over the variations of animation in the films that he'd written double what she'd asked for. Stepping in to the room, Finley moved to the front, handing the witch his essay.

"I'm s-sorry if it's t-too much." The Ravenclaw explained sheepishly, moving to a seat in the front row, ready for the lesson to start. Looking to the board, Finley smiled to himself at the thought of board games, his favourite was Scrabble.

Hailey skipped into the classroom. The attack had been for Purebloods. She was a pureblood. She could've died. But she had thankfully stayed in her dorm like the headmaster had suggested and everything turned ok. Well, ok for her. Not for the student and the professor that had died. Hailey was just glad that she herself got out.

She hadn't even thought about Benny. What was Benny? Was he ok? Why was she worried? She shrugged it off. Today was not the day. She was already stressed out that she could have died. She didn't need to be worrying about anybody else. She walked into Muggle studies. She wasn't sure why she took the class. Her views on muggles over the years had changed. At first she thought they were harmless. But now she was just annoyed.

She had originally taken the class because she thought it was going to be an easy A, but when the Professor assigned a 1000 word essay on movies, she regretted taking the class. She maybe wrote about 300 words and hoped that would cut it. Probably not. She'd probably get a big fat F. But who cares? It was just muggle studies.

Lux made her way reluctantly to the first floor, disappointed that the attack hadn't lasted longer. If it had, she wouldn't be returning to the routine of classes and studying. She would have seen more action, more blood. She exhaled slowly, trying not to let her temper get the best of her.

It was no easy feat though, seeing as Muggle Studies was one class she found intolerably boring. She supposed that was partially her fault. Being a muggleborn, she knew more - and probably experienced more - of the muggle world than other students. And being an orphan, she'd seen the muggle world at its worst and learnt to navigate the treacherous waters at a young age.

At least the assignment had been a bit of a relief. Lux was glad that the professor allowed them to pick any genre and of course she chose horror. She picked out the most terrifying ones, the ones that would make anybody else pee in their pants and have nightmares for the rest of the month.

She entered the classroom and handed the slightly-over-1000 word essay to the professor before taking her usual seat right at the back of the classroom and reading what was on the board. Board games. What were they going to play - snake and ladders? she thought sarcastically. She hoped not. Lux was not a hater of board games but she did object to the useless kinds. She preferred games that required thinking and strategy.

Muggle Studies (All Years) Empty

Jacques wasn't overly fond of Muggle Studies, he could openly admit that. Why do things the Muggle way when you had magic, and why would it be useful to know the things Muggles did?

Or, that had been what he thought before the attack.

Now, it felt like Jacques had had his eyes opened to the real world. The obvious things he'd been missing. If he had been caught by the Basilisks - if they had asked him anything about Muggle life... he would not have been good enough at a response to convince them they had the wrong person.

They would have known within an instant that he was a Pureblood, and he would have been dead without a second thought.

So, Jacques had pulled himself from his bed that morning, with the intention of at least trying to get a basic understanding of the Muggle world. To save his own skin, if nothing more.

Slipping in to the classroom, Jacques noted a few people handing in an essay, but he didn't have one. So he slipped off towards the back of the room, taking a seat and waiting for the lesson to start.

Board Games

Jacques frowned to himself in that moment, wondering what in Merlin's name would be interesting enough to use a board of wood to make a game...

Chara was, perhaps, a bonus in respect of a future wife. She had motivated Alexander the whole year to really try with his studies and achieve as much as he could. Alexander was still not a model student, not by a long stretch, but he was achieving better grades than before.

Heading towards the first floor, Alexander wondered if he should have waited for his fiance to head to class, but he remembered that they had never agreed on such things. All he could really do was hope that Chara would head towards Muggle Studies too so that he didn't die of boredom in the process.

Entering the classroom, Alexander gave the professor a small smile and moved towards the middle of the classroom, taking up a seat and pulling out his notebook and a quill. Looking to the board, he wasn't sure what they would be studying today - board games to him were the Magical classics, like Wizard's Chess and Exploding Snap - both of which he knew Muggles couldn't play.

So what would they be studying, Alexander simply didn't know.

Muggle Studies was class about what Christina did know quite much since she actually did grow up in muggle world more than in magical one. She is halfblood but her parents never did show her what was like to be witch or so. She have learned everything about magic mostly herself.

She sighed on that thought when she walked towards the classroom. She did hate her parents but she still had to live with them. They were the worst parents ever. Here in school she was happy and cheerful girl lately but she was sure it will change when she needs to go back to home.

She walked into the classroom and did sigh one more time. "Hello everyone!" she said with a small smile on her face and did take a seat middle of classroom. She knew few muggle board games but not that much to be honest. She never really liked to play them, she more likely did read book than play board games.

Ethan needed to know muggles and their ways so he didn't say something completely stupid in front of Layla. He probably already had, however she hadn't said anything. Ethan entered the classroom. He nodded his head in greeting to everyone. He took a seat, and read the board. Huh. Board Games. He didn't have a clue what they were. Could they be things like Wizard's Chess? If so, he was never that good at it. His mind raced as he tried to put the puzzle pieces together.

Nothing at this rate could make Ethan in a bad mood. He would have to go home soon. What would he do? His parents would try and set him up for marriage but he wanted nothing to do with it. He just wasn't that way. He played with the ring from Layla. He had yet to remove it, and he was sure his mother would question it's existence and who exactly gave it to him. That would be the day he would move out. but first he would have to buy an apartment and make sure he had a job, and some money. God he wasn't ready for this.
