| Elleon's face split into a grin when Kayleigh commented on how amazing it was. He hadn't been expecting such an enthusiastic response. A positive one sure - since he doubted she was the kind to bully anyone - but he hadn't quite foreseen her outburst and it amused him to no end. He shrugged and waved his hand in a 'no big deal' movement at her comment on it being cool, unused to the compliments she was freely giving.
He did raise an eyebrow when she expressed her desire to learn how to sign. Was she being serious? Learning sign wasn't exactly easy, as was learning any other language really, because it had its own grammar structure and came with loads of facial expressions that when added to certain signs could change the meaning. For him, it was the reverse; sign language was his first language and he struggled with English. Really struggled.
"I could teach you if you really want to learn," he offered. If she did manage to pick it up, he'd have another person he could easily communicate with besides Jelena. That would be a great relief and he'd definitely enjoy his time at Hogwarts more. Not being able to communicate fluidly with the other students could sometimes be lonely.
He stalled a little at her question, unsure if he was capable of doing the spell and not wanting to embarrass himself in front of his classmate. He bit the corner of his lip then nodded. "Sure," he signed as he got out his wand.
Taking a deep breath, he mouthed the words again, getting a feel of the movement his lips and tongue around the foreign words. When he felt he was ready, he moved his wand in the required pattern and said the incantation out loud. Nothing happened. He must have pronounced it wrong or not clearly enough. He felt a blush rising in his cheeks but forced his thoughts towards the spell. I can do this.
Once again, he mouthed the words, whispering it this time to get more used to it. Taking another breath, he waved his wand and repeated the incantation more firmly. It worked this time but wasn't strong enough to make Kayleigh fall down. At least it was something. Deciding to try it one more time (third time's the charm, right?), he cast the spell again and watched in victory as it worked fully. Yes! I did it! I actually did it!
But then he remembered that Kayleigh now had the curse on her. Not knowing what to do, he waved the professor over to get the thing off Kayleigh. |

| As more people moved in to the room, Jacques couldn't help but feel a little relieved. He wasn't much interested in working with a Hufflepuff - they weren't known for the prowess in dueling, and Jacques was not the kind of person you wanted to mess up with when doing these things.
However, even with the extra students coming in to the room, Jacques' choices were limited.
Pausing for a moment when the professor had finished talking about what they had to do, Jacques moved towards his fellow Slytherin. Tristan, or something like that. "You, work with me." Jacques told the boy - he wasn't about to ask, no, Jacques knew what he wanted, and no one was going to tell him no.
"I'll go first." Jacques added, slipping his wand from his belt and readying himself for the lesson. He waited, though, for the boy to get his own wand out. They might not be dueling, but Jacques was never going to have it said that he would attack someone who was unarmed. Even in a classroom situation. ________________________________________________ | |

| Anya let out a sigh. She was not that big a fan of working in partners. Despite her classification as a Hufflepuff, she had a rather shy personality. She found her self backing up into the corner, away from all of the students who were partnering up. It was not likely that someone would ask her if she would like top work with them, but she could not work up the strength to ask someone to be her partner.
"You need to be a people person," She remembered her mother saying to her before she left their family. "Every person who gets somewhere in life is a people person. No powerful ruler works alone" Anya had laughed at this. She was not likely to become a powerful ruler...maybe a sidekick...but never a ruler.
Setting the memory and it's ridiculousness aside Anya felt her back softly hit the wall as she planted her feet into the ground; a fly on the wall, watching the world around her from afar. |

| To be truthfully honest Defense Against the Dark Arts was definitely her favourite class because the blonde was certain it would be one of the only classes to prepare her for her position as an heiress. The pale blonde strolled into the class and took a position along the wall, being sure to hold her body up as straight as possible. Her parents had drilled it into her mind to always walk with confidence and to always bring greatness to her name, which she could never fail to do. The girl was power hungry, there was no denying that and she would never fail to make her family or Monaco look bad.
She knew what the spell did the moment she looked to the board. If there was one thing a Charlot was not, it was stupid. In fact, the girl was far too intelligent for her own good. owever, she would almost never bring attention to herself in class by doing something as silly as answering a question because for some reason, she enjoyed the dumb blonde stereotype which was twice as applied to her since she was also rich.
When told to pair up, her ocean bllue eyes scanned the room, her arms protectively crossing over her chest. She wouldn't dare ask anyone to be her partner, though she did have an eye on a few people such as the older Hufflepuff in the corner. She seemed like she could be a good follower or maybe even a better enemy, either would make the Charlot girl happy. Locking eyes with her, Severine gave her the best smile she could manage, her hair tightly bound to the back of her head in a semi-fancy updo. She gave off a flashy appearance, clean and nice or at least that was what most people thought when they first met her. |

| Anya's blue eyes grew wide as she noticed that someone had laid their gaze upon her. A pale, blonde girl who seemed to be a bit younger than herself, was smiling towards the Hufflepuff. She couldn't decipher the temperature of the smile, but she figured it was most likely someone between warm and frozen;between friendly and loathing. The blonde was probably slightly desperate for someone to work with, as Anya just so happened to be.
Anya made her way over to the girl, twisting a clump of hair between her lengthy fingers. Her hair felt smooth, but almost more greasy-smooth than actually smooth. Her least favourite thing about her hair was the fact that she could not go a day without washing it, despite how bad everyday washing was for one's hair.
Anya raised one hand in an attempt to wave at the girl. "You look like you need a partner and it just so happens that I do too," She laughed rather awkwardly. "I'm Anastasiya, but a majority of the population knows me as Anya." |

| For the most part, the girl's plan worked. The Hufflepuff was now headed in her direction, likely to be her partner which was perfect. Severine wasn't all into this whole partner work thing but in order to pass this class, graduate and fufill her destiny, she needed to make an acquaintance and find a partner. She would have honestly preferred to start at the top, but everyone needed to start somewhere and if the bottom was where it was, then that was where she'd start as long as the girl didn't turn up as a Muggleborn.
The Hufflepuff wasn't the most appealing girl, not in appearance anyways but slowly, Severine would change her and she would become more like her and less like the person she was now, or at least that was the plan.
"I don't need anyone," Severine said sharply, cutting her off, "what I need is to graduate and to do that, I suppose a partner is needed because that is what the directions are." Severine was glad that the girl needed a partner however and did try not to scare her away so in attempts to not make her feel like a complete idiot, she gave another semi-warm smile. I'm Severine Louisa Catherine Frances Charlot, Heiress to the Palace of Monaco," the girl gave a slight curtsy, "and it's a pleasure to meet you Anastasiya," Severine concluded in her heavy French accent. She noticed the girl too had an accent that was not familiar around this side of the world. |

| Anya's eyes moved back and forth as the Gryffindor introduced herself. She wished that there had been a sign over her that read, "WARNING: My name is longer than you attention span." The Hufflepuff had always been a fan of nicknames. She saw a name as something that everyone was given at birth. She had no choice in what she was named, but she did get a say in what her nickname could be. She liked Anya, because it was not the first choice. The more popular short of Anastasiya was Ana, so Anya had gone with the second option, which pretty much summed up how most people saw her; the second option. "I'm going to address you as Sev, дa?" Anya asked mostly rhetorically. A bit frazzled, she corrected herself, "I mean, yes?" The brunette was a bit disappointed in herself. She was rather good at English and she was able to speak in perfect English most of the time, but there were some incidents where she slipped.
"Alright we should get started on this spell," She decided. "Would you like to have the first attempt?" Sev seemed like a "me first" type of person. |

| Severine didn't accept nicknames. Had her name supposed to have be Sev then her parents would have named her Sev. However her name was Severine for a reason. Names were neat and proper, much like the Charlot family and all of Severine's names were special in the own way as they'd been passed down from generation to generation. "Severine is fine," the blonde said, accepting nonetheless. Her family had occasionally caled her something other than her name and that was Blanche which meant pale blonde in French, but no one else was allowed to address her as anything less than Severine Charlot.
At the girl's slip up, Severine instantly placed her accent, Russian. It had been a familiar accent when her family vacationed in Moscow three summers ago. "We should," the Gryffindor drawled on. "Of course I would," Severine added with a smile and a cursty drawing her wand. "Petrificus Totalus," the third year chanted confidently sending the spell flying at the Hufflepuff.

| "Severine is fine." The Hufflepuff whispered a quiet "oh." This girl seemed to be used to doing things her way. Anya wondered if she was destined to be a leader...or maybe a tyrant. She pondered this for a minute, but her thought was soon interrupted by Severine's spell.
Anya felt her arms clump against her sides, as if they had been attached with super glue. Before she knew it, her entire body was plummeting towards the thankfully cushioned ground. Timber! Anya thought. She lay on the floor, unable to gain control of her limbs. She was taken a back by the fact that the spell only affected her limbs and motion. She was surprised that she still see in front of her. She was also able to hear those around her.
It was honestly a very confusing experience for the young girl, as she had never had this spell used on her before. She decided that she preferred full use of her body. Laying still tended to get boring particularly fast. |
