Jake could feel Marilyn stop moving as he spoke. Shit, he thought to himself, holding his breath at that moment. Too much, too much, go back! He had messed up, he'd messed up. As she turned towards him, Jake looked in to Marilyn's eyes uncertainly, but... there wasn't hurt, there wasn't anger, there wasn't horror on her features.

She looked... happy...

"Two kids, two's a good number."

Jake couldn't help but grin as Marilyn got ahead of herself, talking about the number of kids she wanted and how his little sister would make a good wedding planner. The kisses swallowed the soft laugh that left his lips at her joy of hearing those words, his hands moving around her back and holding her close to him until she told him that she would very much like to do that, one day.

"Anyone would think I just asked you to marry me with that reaction." Jake joked softly against her lips, relaxing against the side of the bath once more. "But I'm glad, that you want all that too. But when the time is right, not now." He explained, wanting to be clear that these things would take time to come in to action, but seeing as they were both comfortable with the idea, he couldn't see a reason why it couldn't be a possibility in the future.

"Anyone would think I just asked you to marry me with that reaction."

"Not, yet," she teased, "We have time for that later," the witch agreed, kissing him again softly, very much appeased that there would be a later, a future together. The heiress kissed his neck softly, relaxing against him, relishing the feeling of his hands on her back and the comfortable atmosphere. Mari was so in love with the man before her she couldn't have been happier, and there couldn't have been a better welcoming home.

Nipping his earlobe playfully Mari added with a giggle, "You never know, I might propose to you first," The witch joked, pressing a quick kiss to his lips before letting him react. She was really just joking, she knew Jake well enough to know he would want to do it, and it wasn't like she minded, in fact, she thought it a bit romantic.

Jake's reply came with a soft 'mmm', not wanting to give away how long, just that it would be the future. Merlin knew he had way too much to think about, organise, before he could even think of making their lives move on. Jake simply held her close, enjoying the token gestures of affection that she was giving him as he closed his eyes. Not asleep but highly relaxed now that Marilyn was home.

But his eyes shot open the moment she teased him about asking first. Shaking his head, and not overly amused with the idea, Jake leant down and kissed her lips. "Please don't do that, Mari." Jake told her softly. He didn't explain why, because he was quite sure that he didn't need to.

When they finished up in the bathroom, the duo got in to bed and cuddled up - in honesty, Jake hadn't slept very well without her, so he was out like a light after they'd said goodnight to one another, happy to have her safe in his arms and their life back to normal.
