Care of Magical Creatures - Lesson One (All Years) Empty
PostSubject: Care of Magical Creatures - Lesson One (All Years)   Care of Magical Creatures - Lesson One (All Years) EmptyWed Jan 04, 2017 12:38 pm

This year was starting with something relatively interesting - Bowtruckles. Now, not everyone liked the creatures, of curse, but it had come to Daniel''s attention that a new batch of the creatures had been found in the Forest. Therefore, he'd gotten the students to meet him down at the Forest for today's lesson.

He was hoping they would enjoy this, because although Bowtruckles were not as exciting as some creatures, they were very interesting in their own way.

Leaning against a tree in the warm end of summer sun, Daniel waited for his students to arrive to the class feeling relatively calm. Teaching had become something of a second nature by now, so he wasn't in the slightest bit worried about his students.

The only thing he was worried about was the number of students he was going to get. Hopefully he would get a full class, to make this a success.

The rumours about Bowtruckles in the forest had been going around for the past few days so Primrose hadn't been surprised when their lesson for the day would be in the Forbidden Forest. She had been eagerly awaiting this lesson as, despite the slightly cold weather, she was looking forward to meeting the small creatures that hid away in their forest.

Making her way out of the castle and towards the forest, Primrose limped along with her classmates who were all eagerly talking about the lesson. Rolling her eyes in amusement she pushed past the gossiping third years and, ignoring their scandalous yells about her being careful where she walked, she quickly made her way towards where Professor Jameson was as she could already see him.

"Hello Professor!" She called with a wide smile upon her lips as she came to a stop not too far from him, her hand automatically moving towards her knee to rub the aching joint.

Max had been excited for the Bowtruckle lesson. He'd found the nest, and after being caught trying to come out of the castle late one night early in the term, Professor Jameson had wanted to know why. Max had explained that he was going down to check on Buckle, the Bowtruckle he'd taken a liking to, and whilst the Headmaster had not been happy with Max's sneaking around, they'd gone down to the nest together.

The rumours of today's lesson had been quite thick, and Max had no option but to head down. He doubted Buckle would come out with everyone around, he was rather timid. But, the others might play ball.

Arriving down at the clearing for the class, Max smiled towards the Headmaster. "Good morning, professor!" He greeted before turning his attention to the other person already there. "Hey Prim! You okay?" He asked, motioning to her leg and hoping it wasn't too bad. He might not know what was wrong, but Max had a good heart.

"Max! Hey!" Prim yelped in startlement, a wide smile upon her lips as she saw her fellow fourth year before she blinked down at her knee, almost surprised by her actions before she shrugged her shoulders, a sheepish smile upon her lips. "I'm fine; the wind today is just a bit too cold for my knee." She explained.

She hadn't yet told Max the reason why she was limping but she figured that maybe it was time to; the boy had proven himself to being loyal and a good friend as well so she didn't fear him bullying or making fun of her anymore. "After lessons finish, do you want to hang out? I don't have much to do today but my homework but that isn't due until next week." She had been awfully glad for the piles of homework that the Professor's had been giving them but she didn't actually like the fact that they had a long time to do them.

Care of Magical Creatures - Lesson One (All Years) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Care of Magical Creatures - Lesson One (All Years)   Care of Magical Creatures - Lesson One (All Years) EmptyMon Jan 09, 2017 8:04 pm

Care of Magical Creatures had grown on Elenore over the years - not that she'd care to admit that she had a soft spot for looking after some rather filthy creatures, of course. It simply would not do, but seeing as Jacques seemed to stay away from this class, Elenore took the respite from her brother whilst she could.

Heading down to the clearing that they would be meeting, Elenore found herself with two of her fellows. She wasn't overly sure on their names, but she gave them both a small smile. They were talking and it would be much too rude for Elenore to interrupt them.

Instead, the Hufflepuff turned her attention to the Headmaster. "Good morning, professor." The witch greeted instead, though her ears were trained to the conversation of her peers, making notes in her head about their relationship. She doubted it would be of much interest, nobody here really seemed to be highly interesting, but Elenore would at least reserve judgement until she was proved right.

If the rumours were at all true, then Carlotta had heaps to be excited about this lesson. Bowtruckles! Kind of like tiny adorable stick insects with bounds of personality. Carlotta just found them to be incredibly interesting- how something so small could protect their trees. She heard they could be quite fierce- of course their size wouldn't do much damage to incredibly large creatures, but that didn't mean they wouldn't defend their homes. And there could be such variety in them! She supposed that that might be the same for most creatures, but she had heard that they just seemed to be far more expressive, and she simply found that really interesting.

She walked briskly to the place that she saw the group congregating, with a wide grin on her face. "Morning Professor," she greeted cheerfully "So, I heard along the grapevine that we'd be covering Bowtruckles today?" she asked hopefully.

For some reason, Carlotta had seemed extraordinarily excited for the lesson, claiming that it might involve like bow truckles or something? He'd never really done anything pertaining to magical creatures- like no research, no reading or anything, so he didn't see what the big fuss was about.

He found that the best thing about this class was that it was outside- Eli loved being outside. He always felt a sense of confinement, of irritation inside stuffy, old classrooms. He liked the sun, the breeze, the general freshness that the outdoors offered. Hey! Maybe he'd actually learn something- maybe not being cooped up would help his concentration or something? He severely doubted it. He'd probably get distracted by like a butterfly or something and miss all the explanations.

Regardless, he made his way over to the group "So Professor, lovely day for some caring 'bout creatures, yeah?" Okay, wasn't his best, he acknowledged that, but it was something at least.

Joshua's previous year at Hogwarts had been a stressful one to say the least. He had spent a-lot of his time focusing on quidditch, and Kaleb, and not knowing where he stood with Kaleb, and not hearing back from Kaleb. Needless to say, his feelings had hit him like a pickup truck crashing gliding over a squirrel on the highway and he had gone about handling them in a less than graceful manner.

The summer had been beneficial to him in the way that it gave him a bit of closure when it came to not hearing from Kaleb. Eventually, he had accepted the fact that he probably would not hear from the boy, but it was a hard fact the come to terms with. And now Josh was alone with the burden of not knowing how he felt towards either gender or if he felt anything at all. He would see a girl and think she was hot, but then his thoughts would double over and the Hufflepuff would wonder if he actually thought that or if he was just telling himself that.

The self-discovery period of his life had not been kind to his school work, either. He'd spent a-lot of his time researching or sulking when he should have been in class or studying, which led to a forced repetition of his seventh year. His parents were less than thrilled by this, but there wasn't anything they could really do. They could tell that their son was really struggling.

Sneakers squishing into the grass, Joshua walked over to the forest where Care of Magical Creatures was being held. He stood near the outskirts of the small student group that had formed, waiting for the lesson to begin.

PostSubject: Re: Care of Magical Creatures - Lesson One (All Years)   Care of Magical Creatures - Lesson One (All Years) EmptyFri Jan 13, 2017 8:29 pm

Care of Magical Creatures had always been that cute lesson - the one Emily never really needed to put a lot of effort into participating in; the lesson the blonde was quite happy to sit back and watch the creatures they were introduced to with minimal interaction. That sat quite nicely with her. And, well -with her tie sitting a little loose around her neck, her robes bunched up in her arms - Emily had to admit that bowtruckles (of course, she'd heard the rumours, such things were what she lived for)  were really quite adorable.

The walk down to the forest followed the route of the run Emily would take most days, anyway - either early in the morning as the sun came up, or in the evenings before dinner to work up her appetite - and she was there in a few minutes. Originally unimpressed by the length of the walk (honestly, was it so hard to do anything up in her tower, just for once?) she had contemplated whether it would be worth it to even show her face, but of course, she'd let her better judgement make that decision.

"Professor," she smiled, Scot accent heartier than when they'd left for the summer, unrolling her robes now a little chilly as she stood in the shade. Slipping them on over her shoulders, patting her inner pocket to make sure her little book was in there, Emily shrugged her bag onto the floor by her feet. No faces stood out as massively familiar. No-one she'd really spoken to much, so she didn't speak up again, feigning disinterest, with full attention.

Severine wasn't one to say that a class such as Care of Magical Creatures had grown on her but she could admit that she was able to tolerate such a silly class. The sub zero boarding school she had spent the last three years of her life at didn't offer classes of that nature. In fact, classes there were boring and only taught the most basic things needed to succeed in life. Magic was barely covered. How silly of her parents to send her to a school where magic was not even a priority.

One of the major reasons the girl hated Care of Magical Creatures was because it was casually held outside. Severine was not a fan of the outdoors. It left her feeling filthy and sweaty and often, she hit the showers making her late for whatever followed.

Severine couldn't help but notice that several other students has already gathered around the professor and were chatting among themselves. She entered swiftly and quickly and announced a greeting to the professor. She didn't know any of the students there except for the Clement girl she had met one year before she was sent away. She doubted the girl would recognize her with the way she'd grown up now.
