As the explanation of the class was given, Naomi turned to Corbin almost the moment Jake was finished, raising an eyebrow at him in silent question. Slipping her wand from her belt, Naomi moved slightly away from her fellow Slytherin, before turning back to him with an amused smile.

"Come on then, Henderson. This should, at least, be fun for one of us." Naomi insisted, readying herself for the attack. She might be a third year in the school's eyes, but she'd been working much harder this year to get back to her rightful year. She was not someone that Corbin should underestimate in the slightest.

And, though Jake had said only the older years were to duel, Naomi was not going to have herself belittled by the professor, either. She was going to have Corbin Henderson rigid, and falling on his ass, even if it was the last thing she did this lesson.

With Prim turning to him almost immediately when Jake told them to pair up, Max let out a small laugh at her enthusiasm. He expected the Prim would likely be better than him at his, but he was more than willing to give it a go. After all, it was a useful spell, should the Nightshades turn up again.

"Umm..." Max gave a shrug when she asked who should start, standing at the ready with his wand poised. "You can, if you want?" Max suggested, though he was quite sure he was supposed to try and block it, like a mini duel.

Before they could start, though, two jets of light flashed across the room, and Max moved absentmindedly towards Prim - as if he could do anything that she couldn't do herself - and turned to see who had done it. Prim had seen, though, and Max's hand went instantly to hers to stop her from doing anything stupid. Lux Bailey was a force to be reckoned with, and Prim... well, she was a Gryffindor for a reason.

"Jake will sort it." Max told her softly, not wanting a fight to start in the middle of Defence Against the Dark Arts.
