Sometimes alone is the only way to fight. Picture a four-year-old kid who knows the names of every employee at the hospital because he and his sister have been in and out for their entire lives. He doesn't know what the place is or why he's there, but all he knows is that there's an immense pain in his chest that he can't get rid of. His sister is preoccupied with a worsening pain of her own and his mother is too caught up in teddy bears and lasagnas to sit by his bed side and tell him it'll be okay.
This kid has no idea what there is to live for. He has never known anything other than where he has always been so he wouldn't lose anything if he did nothing.
And yet he fights. And yet he survives. Because he knows that one day the pain in his chest will turn into love and to warmth. Because the only way to find something to fight for is to believe that you just haven't found it yet.
Now, that was a fictional scenario, but I believe that I got my point across. |

Do you truly think love isn't worth fighting for? |

One could say that my mother had a thing for knowing how to exploit the mortality of her children to get sympathy from her friends and coworkers.
My sister died when I was younger; she was only a few years older. Died of "Uknown causes similar to cancer." As I continued to go in and out of the hospital, a doctor noticed a pattern. He brought up his concerns to an authority and I was put into the foster care system.
I love my dads, though. So everything happens for a reason. |

I have a fictional situation of my own.
Suppose there was a boy.
And this boy... He grows up with a loving mother, but a father that only ever loved his family in public. A father who, more often than not, is busy with work - too busy to come home a lot of the time.
It's natural to assume the boy thinks this is what love is. The father is busy to earn money to bring home. That's what love is.
But let's suppose one day the boy visits a friend for a sleepover. And suppose during said sleepover, the boy sees his friend's dad coming home, kisses his wife, and tousled the hair of his son. Suppose the boy realises that this is what a family is. And suppose that the boy goes back, now uncertain about what family is meant to be.
I've said too much already. I shouldn't send this. |

I don't think I have to give the whole "Every family is different" schpeel because I am sure that you've heard it a million times, but I am going to tell you that there a million sides and a million chapters to every story. I do not justify the actions of your father. Or the actions of my mother. I try my best to understand and to learn from where people such as them have gone wrong.
You do not decide love is a waste of time because it has left you or fooled you or broken you. You take the pain and you decide that you will find a love that puts all of those to shame. |

But he was there. He's shitty and dismissive and he's been placed into a role that he doesn't want to be in. But he's there. Maybe he has to be maybe he doesn't, but anyone can escape a situation if they desire so badly enough. |

You know nothing. Don't try and pretend you know me or my family. Just because you had a choice and you had a chance at a good family doesn't mean everyone f-ing does. Sometimes there ARE no choices. If he could have left, he would have. And if you think I'm being pessimistic, I heard him say those exact words to mum.
This is why I've never told anyone my story.
It was my mistake trusting you. |
