PostSubject: Store bought (Sebastian)   Store bought (Sebastian) EmptyThu Sep 14, 2017 7:06 am

"Is he here yet?" Mimosa asked impatiently as Clara busied herself with the remainder of the packing. Teaching the child to pack for herself was turning into a bit of an adventure, one Clara had never had to face with her first goddaughter. Mimosa was a different story though, the child couldn't seem to differentiate between "essential" and "things she would like to bring with her". As it was, the suitcases were haphazardly filled with bulky toys, gadgets and not enough clothes. Kit's carefree attitude of "Eh, she'll buy whatever she needs when she gets there" did not help in the slightest.

"Do you see him on the security camera" Clara asked matter of factly, removing a box set of Dolce & Gabanna cosmetics from the case. Mimosa may model for the brand but she was not nearly old enough for make up. Most of the items were assorted free gifts from her modelling event and none of those items were essential. Her words sent the little witch running to the small display monitor beside the hotel room door for the fifth time.

"Noooo," the child whined, making the psychic smile fondly. It was always like this when Mimosa was getting ready to meet her Uncle Sebastian. And today was an extra special day because the little girl and the Quidditch coach would be going to pick her out a dress for some ball happening at Hogwarts in a few weeks. Sebastian Aquila, Clara knew through experience, was the good sort that would take a hyperactive nine year old off her hands for the day so she could finish packing and then maybe check out the hotel spa. Mimosa had had her treat, now it was her godmother's turn.

"Well I'm sure he's on his way, why don't you double check your bag in the meantime, do you have everything?"

"I do," Mimosa called out from her station by the door, watching the monitor like a hawk.

"Really, do you have you phone?"

There was a sound of scuffling feet as the little witch ran to pluck her phone from its charging station and stuff it in her bag. "Yes," Mimosa replied, a slight note of guilt in her voice. The child never could lie confidently.

"And your cards?"

Another small pause as the girl opened her bag to check followed by a more confident "Yes Clara."

"And what do you say if you get separated from Uncle Seb at any time?" Though Clara couldn't see the child, she could picture the cogs turning in little Mimosa's head before the answer was issued with an air of satisfaction.

"That's a trick question, I'm not supposed to be separated from him."

"Good girl," Clara praised, finally looking up from the almost empty suitcase. "Now go stand by the door, your uncle's here."  An excited yelp emitted from the child just as the doorbell rang. It was good to be psychic sometimes. It gave life a much needed dramatic flair.

PostSubject: Re: Store bought (Sebastian)   Store bought (Sebastian) EmptyThu Sep 14, 2017 8:05 pm

The Harvey-Aquila household had been busy with wedding preparations for months now. Sebastian and Aiden had picked a theme, eventually. Aiden was going to be wearing a navy suit, and Sebastian... well, Sebastian was keeping his own attire to himself. The affair was going to be quite small, after all, neither one of them were hugely sociable people, but it was still going to be busy enough.

It had been early in October that Sebastian had heard that his favourite little 'niece' was going to be in his home town. This news had made the Italian wizard so, so happy, and, of course, he'd agreed. Clara had asked him to chaperone Mimosa for dress shopping -- which suited him just fine -- for the day so that she could have some time out.

Sebastian had taken the opportunity to ask for Clara's blessing to ask the young witch to be his flower girl at the wedding -- something that would require the young witch to pick out a second dress for the big day.

It had been three years, now, that Sebastian had known the young witch, and though they didn't see each other as often as they both might like, they always had a ball when they were together. He had his old boss to thank for that one, that was for sure, the man had pushed him towards the bunch of six year olds those years ago, insisting he play commentator for the private game and keep them amused. It had been the man's mistake when Sebastian had not only entertained the kids and been paid for it, but he'd also made friends with a fantastic little girl that he was sure was going places.

After leaving his Mama's house that morning for the hotel in which Mimosa would be staying, Sebastian had gone through in his head again and again how to bring the announcement to life. Same sex marriages were still a little taboo, though not as much as they had been, which meant he was a little bit unsure whether to include the young witch to begin with.

Aiden had agreed, though, so Sebastian didn't think there was any other reason to postpone asking any longer.

Being shown up to the room in which Mimosa was staying, Sebastian rang the bell, and waited, knowing he was probably going to get hit with a cuddle of some description, the man braced himself for impact.

"Uncle Seb!!!" the girl squealed as the door opened to reveal the tall Quidditch coach. The man would perhaps have a moment to gather his bearings because a bundle of long limbs and brown hair were flying in his direction, the child only stopping last moment about an inch from him before throwing her arms around his middle. Mimosa had learned the hard way that barreling into people hurt. Really badly. It had taken a lot of practice for her to tame the instinctive pull of running into people at full speed for a hug but she was finally starting to get the hang of it.

"Uncle Seb, Uncle Seb, Uncle Seb!" she squealed, pulling on his arms to lift her up so she could be tall too. She was not young enough anymore to be carried around by adults but she still liked being hoisted up by them now and then. "Who's your favorite American child!" he questioned seriously. It was good to check now and then in case he found another child model from America to shower affection on.

"And how's Uncle Aiden? And how's your Mom? Have you been to England recently? I was there before my birthday! Oh my birthday! I was in Disneyland! And then i was-"

"Mimosa, let the poor kid breathe," Clara announced with a laugh from where she stood over the suitcase. "Hi Sebastian," she added with a warm smile towards the Italian. "I predict victory in your next two games," she winked. No one knew of course if she was telling the truth or not, Clara often believed in the spirit of the whole thing instead of the logic of it all.

"Don't listen to her," the little witch interjected. "She predicted I would cry all the way on my flight, and I didn't even cry once."

"Yes, you certainly proved me wrong," Clara admitted, looking not a bit upset which confused her goddaughter even more. Being a psychic was comparatively easier than raising a child, Clara had learned. Once the pleasantries were exchanged and the two adults had made sure their charge had everything she needed, Clara waved the two farewell, closing the door when she heard them enter the elevator to the lobby.

PostSubject: Re: Store bought (Sebastian)   Store bought (Sebastian) EmptyTue Sep 19, 2017 8:01 am

The small bundle of a child that Sebastian had been anticipated had grown a fair bit since the last time he'd seen her, how much, Sebastian couldn't be sure. As the young witch's arms wrapped around him, though, Sebastian let out a soft chuckle, his arms wrapping around her in return. "Hello, Mimosa." Sebastian replied fondly.

Only a moment later, the young witch was tugging on his arms, and Seb obliged by lifting her up to his height, and holding her close to him. Her question of who his favourite American was made Sebastian pause -- making it look (in an overly showy manner) that he was trying to work the answer out, before he brought one finger up to touch the tip of Mimosa's nose. "This one." He said, before letting out a soft laugh. Though, of course, Sebastian didn't point out that she was the only American child he knew.

"Aiden is fine, well, he's a little stressed out with work, and some other things, but he's fine. He sends you his love." Sebastian replied to Mimosa's first question, before continuing. "Mama is doing great, too. She says that we must go and see her for lunch, but I told her we're really busy today, so we'll arrange another time. I'm always in England, Mimosa, that's where I live, I'm just home to see Mama and you."

The mention of Mimosa's birthday brought a small smile to Sebastian's lips -- he had her present with him, but he was going to wait for them to be away. But before the young man could question Mimosa on her time spent, Clara had interrupted them, and for the first time, Sebastian acknowledged the older woman. "Good morning Ms. Kent! Mimosa's fine, honestly." He tried to assure the woman as she tried to get Mimosa to calm down, but the next words brought a smile to Sebastian's lips. "I hope so, I definitely hope so." He mused, because they had a couple of big games coming up.

Mimosa had butted back in, though, insisting he not listen. "You didn't cry? Wow! Well done, Mimosa! I think that definitely means we can get ice cream on our travels today, don't you?" He praised, though he would likely have brought Mimosa an ice cream anyway.

Once everything was settled with Clara, Sebastian took Mimosa's hand as they headed off from the room to the lift. Letting Mimosa press the buttons, Sebastian turned his attention back to the subject of Mimosa's birthday. "So, Disneyland, huh? How was it? I've never been! Which makes you a very lucky little lady!" He insisted, waiting for Mimosa to dive in to the subject as the lift stopped and they stepped out towards the street.

PostSubject: Re: Store bought (Sebastian)   Store bought (Sebastian) EmptyFri Sep 22, 2017 6:57 pm

The confirmation of favoritism, the praise on being brave, the promise of ice cream and conveyance of love from Uncle Aiden was enough to keep the child bouncing all the way as Sebastian led her out the hotel room, to the elevate and then out of the hotel building. The child chattered on about her birthday and what she had done at Disneyland, who she'd invited and what she'd eaten throughout the day. As they crossed the streets to head towards downtown Venice, the little brunette finally stopped, taking a deep breath from talking nonstop.

Only to start again once they were moving, this time detailing her trip to France and then London before that. Mimosa didn't hang out with her Uncle Seb as much as she would have liked so in her mind, rapid talking was the only solution to catch him up to everything in her life. She told him about Mercy, about what Charles was up to these days, about Dia and Aunt Tessa and she told him about her new friend Michelle until the child ran out of breath once more.

Finally, it was as they were entering one of the more exclusive boutiques in the area did the brunette finally wrap up her stories. "And then I finished the dueling event and waited for you. You should come to the Halloween Ball too Uncle Seb, and you should bring Uncle Aiden too." she suggested as they entered, alerting one of the attendants to her feet.

"Good morning, how may I help you?" the sales assistant was clearly Italian but spoke in English fort he benefit o the clientele happily conversing in English. Mimosa left her uncle to deal with the woman, waiting for his attention once more as he finished. From the corner of her eyes, Mimosa could see the woman staring at Uncle Seb. She wondered why that was.

"Are you sure you don't want a suit too?" she asked politely as they were led to several racks of children's couture. "Or maybe something for Uncle Aiden, I'm sure he'd love a present. Everyone loves presents!"

The rapid explanations from Mimosa was enough to keep her busy as they walked. Sebastian put in his own responses where there was a gap, though nothing of substance really got added -- except to ask, with a teasing smile, where his invite to Disneyland had been. Before adding he'd never been to the place. He'd quickly made sure not to let Mimosa think that she had messed up, though, by saying that they would simply have to go another time to make up for this fact.

"Halloween Ball?" Sebastian asked, a small frown playing on his features. He hadn't heard of it, but he could mention it to his fiance to see whether he might like to go. Though, Aiden was quite busy with work, so he wouldn't push it.

As the sales assistant came over, Sebastian explained -- in Italian because Merlin knew it was easier to put things in his native language, and seeing as they were in Italy, it made much more sense -- what Mimosa needed. And, adding that they would need a second dress, too, but for now just one for the Ball that Mimosa was attending.

As they moved along, Sebastian followed the attendant, keeping an eye on Mimosa before presenting her with the options. "Now, then, which colour were we thinking?" Sebastian asked, returning to English without a second thought as he knelt beside Mimosa to see everything from her perspective, and so they could sift through the rail together.

"Actually..." The man said, pausing with a thoughtful look on his features. Bringing his left hand up so that Mimosa could see the ring that sat there now. "Uncle Aiden asked me to marry him." Sebastian explained, hoping the child would understand the basic principles of marriage, but not be too inclined to heterosexual marriages that she couldn't understand. "So, I will need a suit for that. But... I have an important question for my favourite little girl."

Sebastian allowed a small, dramatic pause to take over the space around them, barely containing his own excitement before he asked the question he'd come to ask. "Would you do us the honour of being our chief flower girl at our wedding?" Sebastian asked, breaking out in to a large, warm smile that showed he wanted nothing more than this in the moment.

PostSubject: Re: Store bought (Sebastian)   Store bought (Sebastian) EmptyMon Oct 02, 2017 4:42 am

Uncle Seb was, in Mimosa's completely rational and unbiased opinions, the best adult in the world. He never interrupted her when she launched into a story, always "hmm-ed" and "aaaah-ed" at the right times and never ever looked bored no matter how much she talked. Even grandpa couldn't pretend to concentrate for so long, and all Clara ever did was interrupt her to point out random, unimportant things like flight plans and safety measures. Not Uncle Seb though, he listened and listened and listened, which was probably why Uncle Aiden loved him so much.

As they entered and the Quidditch explained what they were after in his naive Italian, Mimosa was already one step ahead, walikng to a rack of clothing made for much older women. It was the colors that drew her more than the designs or cuts, her natural curiosity taking in the different shades and how they glimmered in the store lighting. Soon enough they two were being shown to a more appropriate rack of clothing suited to her size and when Uncle Seb asked what color they were going for, the child immediate replied "Pink!".

The salesgirl beside them nodded quietly, moving to pull out and separate a few pink gowns to the side for Mimosa to try while her Uncle turned to her once more, this time with a more serious look on his face. The tiny brunette returned the favor from earlier, giving him all her attention as he spoke.

The child almost didn't hear the rest of his words after he revealed that Uncle Aiden had asked him to marry him. Mimosa wasn't entirely sure how marriage worked but she knew there was a big party and usually a huge cake involved, and nothing that had a giant cake in it could ever be wrong. The child squealed happily, bouncing on her feet at the news.

"Oh, that's so great! How did Uncle Aiden ask? I saw this movie once where this woman asked a man by hiding a note in his shoes. He didn't do that right? The note would get smelly." The child asked, before reminding herself that there was more her uncle had said. Something about getting a suit. That was easy, they could do that here. She could help him pick one out. Sure she'd never shoppe for a man before but she got Charles weird T shirts from around the world all the time so it couldn't be that different to shop for a wedding suit.

"Chief flower girl?" the young model's mouth dropped open as fresh excitement shone through her eyes. Mimosa was okay with being "chief" anything and here she liked chiefs, flowers and girls all put together. The child bobbed her head up and down in agreement before struck by an errant thought.

"Wait, what do Chief Flower Girls do? I want to help, Uncle Seb. When is the wedding? And if you tell me what I have to do, i can learn it really really fast, I promise!"

PostSubject: Re: Store bought (Sebastian)   Store bought (Sebastian) EmptyMon Oct 02, 2017 9:18 pm

The squeal that came from the young witch brought a big smile to the Italian's features. The excitement was definitely contagious, and in the respect of getting married to the man he loved, well, there was nobody that could take away his happiness for the situation.

"Are you suggesting I have smelly feet?" Sebastian asked Mimosa as she said the note would smell, putting on a faux hurt face for only a couple of seconds before he broke out in to a soft laugh to show Mimosa that he didn't take it seriously. "But, no, Uncle Aiden didn't go near my shoes, thankfully." The Italian continued, before thinking back to the night of the proposal.

"We were celebrating our anniversary. You know Uncle Aiden isn't too big on big social events, really, so we decided to have a quiet evening together." Sebastian explained, the smile on his lips growing in to fondness as he recounted the evening. "Uncle Aiden had spoken to my Mama about a good meal to cook, Italian of course, and she'd provided him with one of my favourite dishes. He did it all by himself for when I arrived home from work.

"He'd done a super job of it, too!" Sebastian continued, though he knew this wasn't the main point Mimosa would probably want, it was important details to Sebastian because his, then, boyfriend had really thought about the moment. "We were eating dinner when Uncle Seb proposed, leaving his food for a few moments, and getting down on one knee. It's not as romantic as the movies you have seen, by the sounds of it, but... it was perfect."

Sebastian did not, of course, expect Mimosa to understand. He did not expect her to think it was perfect, because she was a child, she would not understand that, sometimes, it was the small things in life that mattered. The small details that many other people would overlook, but not his fiance, no, Aiden had done amazingly that evening, and Sebastian would not have changed the proposal for the world.

"The chief flower girl has a very important job." Sebastian confided as they looked through the dresses put on show for them. "First of all, she has to look like the prettiest, cutest girl in the entire wedding party -- which, I already know is the truth, so we don't have to learn that bit." He listed, trying not to smile too much at just how excited Mimosa was getting.

"Secondly, the chief flower girl has to pick a pretty dress for the day. We're going with blues, so I hope you like that colour." He continued -- of course, Mimosa's favourite colour was pink, but blue wasn't so bad. "Thirdly, when it's the day of the wedding, she has to walk down the aisle in front of me, distributing flowers along the floor to make the room look pretty.

"But, most importantly, the chief flower girl has to get in the pictures with her Uncles, and their guests to make sure the day is remembered properly." Sebastian finished his list.

"Oh, and you're the chief, because you'll be in charge of the wedding rings, too." Sebastian finished as an after thought. Neither he, nor Aiden, had friends with little boys, so, Sebastian had suggested Mimosa do this for them. After all, they weren't having a conventional wedding, so why did the ring bearer have to be a little boy?

PostSubject: Re: Store bought (Sebastian)   Store bought (Sebastian) EmptyMon Oct 09, 2017 10:23 am

The sales girl showing them dresses was promptly forgotten as Mimosa and her Uncle Seb continued the conversation. The child giggled at the notion of him having smelly feet but then fell silent in rapt attention as he described how Uncle Aiden had asked him. No one in her own house cooked anything so the little witch stared in wonder at the herculean fest of preparing a meal from scratch. Wow, uncle Aiden had deon much better than the movie she had seen.

Unbeknownst to the duo, the sales assistant listened on, her polite smile turning slightly sour as she heard the happiness in the hansom man's voice. Why were all the good ones gay? Just her luck. The polite smile was back in place the next second, she was a professional after all.

"It sounds better than the movie I saw," the little brunette replied earnestly once he was done with his tale. "The couple didn't look comfortable at all and..." she lowered her voice, so only Uncle Seb would hear. "I think... the man tried to take her shirt off." She wrinkled her nose, clearly jarred by the idea of someone trying tor remove an article of clothing from another person. The scene had cut out at that point but not before the child had decided it was probably something she would never watch again.

The girl listened once again at all the requirements to be the Chief Flower Girl. She could do the Prettiest part easily, she knew that. Even Uncle Seb knew that. Picking out a dress was also easy, hey could do it here. In fact, the shop assistant seem to be listening as has began taking notes, assuming they'd be purchasing two dresses now. The third requirement made her grin.

"I'm really good at being in pictures," she beamed proudly, it was her job after all. They asked her to travel all over the world to take her pictures so she would do her very best for her Uncle's wedding.

Being in charge of the rings she wasn't so sure about. "I can keep the rings but Uncle Seb, I've never done that before... i don't know if I'll be any good at it but I will do my best! I can keep the rings in my pocket so no one can take them from me until I give them to you!" The idea made sense to her, what could be a safer place?

"Have you two gotten the rings yet? Or are you using old rings? Grandmere and Grandpere wear rings that are hundreds of years old. But they keep them really clean so i guess its okay." The child had little notion of the value of antiques, the primary quality she looked for in jewelry was how much it shone. Conspicuously, a rack of blue flower girl dresses appeared beside the first rack of pink ballgowns, the assistant was quick on her feet.

"Which one should I try first?" Mimosa asked, looking up at the Coach. "And are you getting married in Italy or UK? If you get married in France, I'll have to wear my France clothes, and they aren't as much fun as regular clothes."

PostSubject: Re: Store bought (Sebastian)   Store bought (Sebastian) EmptyTue Oct 10, 2017 6:53 pm

Sebastian was blissfully unaware of the sales assistant that was having trouble digesting his relationship status, his focus solely on little Mimosa as he explained the way the proposal had gone with Aiden, and enjoying the reactions he was being given. Kids were the biggest blessing in the world, what with their pure reactions to everything that went on before them. The way Mimosa didn't bat an eyelid at the idea of two men getting married was a testament to the young witch.

She was going to be amazing, when she grew up, of that much he was sure.

"He didn't?" Sebastian replied in mock shock to Mimosa's comment about the film she had seen. Whatever film it was, he might have to mention it to Clara, but it didn't seem like it had gone further than that. "That simply isn't okay, now, is it?" Sebastian added, shaking his head at the idea -- all the while just about managing to keep himself from laughing. Mimosa definitely had a lot to learn in that department, but Sebastian was not going to be the one responsible for it.

"You're very good at being in pictures!" Sebastain agreed with the young witch -- he didn't follow the young witch's career as closely as many others might, but he knew that she was doing very well in that field. Which, of course, meant she couldn't not be good at taking pictures.

"That sounds like a good idea, but we'll make sure that we keep them safe, because they are very important." Sebastian replied to Mimosa's idea of putting them in her pocket. He wasn't quite sure that this was the best option, but they had plenty of time to work out a full proof idea for this.

Sebastian shook his head at the question of the rings. "Uncle Aiden and I have to go shopping to pick some out. Should be a fun day out." He said, though he wasn't entirely sure how they were going to afford the rings, Sebastian was sure that they would come up with something in the end. "And, your grandparents have really old ones because they're from a really old family. It's a tradition." Sebastian explained as nicely as he could. Truthfully, he didn't like the old style jewels. Too big, too cumbersome, but he couldn't tell the child that. "Aiden and I don't have to worry about those kind of things."

"I think you should try the Ballgowns first. The have to be in the French fashion, yes?" Sebastian asked as the young witch mentioned such things. Whilst he didn't truly understand why Mimosa headed off to France every so often to meet with the Clements -- people he knew of from school -- he couldn't say, but he didn't question it either.

"We will be getting married in Italy. Aiden insisted that we be home when we do it." Sebastian said, a very loving look crossing his face at the thought of his fiance's insisting that this was okay. That, they would get married in Seb's home country, and not his own, because it was important to Seb to do it around his Mama.

"Pick your first one, the lady won't want to wait for us all day," Sebastian insisted, remembering the shop assistant now as he flashed her an apologetic smile. Whilst Mimosa busiest herself with which dress she wanted, and eventually went to try it on, Sebastian moved to sit down opposite the changing rooms, and waited. For a few moments, the young man sat quietly, before remembering the thing he'd forgotten.

"Oh, Mimosa..." Sebastian called out to the changing room, knowing he would be heard because it was only really them in the shop. "I almost forgot -- I have your birthday present! Tickets to see Wigtown Wanderers versus Hollyhead Harpies!" He exclaimed, knowing that Mimosa would love it for the simple fact they were her favourite teams. "In the VIP box, of course!" Sebastian added, knowing this was the icing on top of the cake.
