PostSubject: Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries)   Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries) EmptyTue Oct 10, 2017 7:29 pm

Sasha had gone home for her Christmas holiday and literally after she had gone to park to spend some time she soon came back to her home. There she saw her mother in the living room talking with her nanny was was surprising for the girl. She had no idea what was going on there so she slowly walked closer to them. She understood only a few words there: Books, New York, Sasha. She didn't get what was going on now.

"What is going on?" she asked there. She didn't really bother to say hello since her mother didn't really deserve it. "Oh, hey sweetie," her mother said on what Sasha rolled her eyes. She really wasn't sure how she felt about being called sweetie by her mother. "So what is going on?" she asked again and crossed her arms there in front of her.

Her mother looked at her nanny and Sasha noticed of her nanny left her and her mother alone now. Which made the 15-years old girl sigh. "So what is it?" she asked again, she was getting annoyed already and this wasn't really something that did happen with Sasha often.

"So Sasha I'm going to go this book launch in New York and I need you to come with me there. So are you willing?" she heard her mother ask. This was a big surprise to her that her mother even asked her some favour or something like this. She looked at her mother there her mouth open and wasn't sure what to say.

"What you say sweetie?" her mother asked again. Sasha closed her mouth and just stared at her mother there still. The girl had no idea what she was supposed to say there now. She was so lost for sure.

"So this means we will do something together?" Sasha finally asked something. "Yes, Sweetie," her mother answered. Sasha was still sceptical of this.  "Oh well, I will come, just this one time. Never again," the fifteen years old girl answered. "Great but you need to wear one of those dresses there and we live in 20minutes. So go back our stuff and we come back the day before you go back to Hogwarts," her mother said and left her room. "Oh and wear some make-up too," she added.

Sasha's mouth was open again. So the girl went to her own room to back all necessary things and after 10mins she was ready with packing and she looked at dresses on her bed. She decided to take both with her. She will decide once they're in New York.

So yeah a couple of hours later Sasha and her mother Caroline were in New York. So soon after this, they went to the hotel to get changed. So Sasha dressed into one of the greenish dresses her mother had picked and she put even some makeup to look more mature, according to her mother she needed to look more mature than she is. She never told why.

So soon after both were done dressing the went to this book launch and Sasha wasn't even sure why she was here. She didn't know much about book writing even. Her mother was gone as soon as they walked in. So this meant she needed to find her own way here. She wasn't sure what she is supposed to do there even. Her mother didn't talk much the whole trip here with her. Just said like how she was supposed to act and so on.

Sasha slowly regretted she had agreed to come here with her mother. She looked around her and wondered where she should go even or what to do. Soon her mother was back with people who she introduced to her and said she should talk with them. "Hello," Sasha said with a smile. She tried to be nice but she wasn't sure about what to talk. Those people soon talked about their books, Sasha just listened and tried to be like she is interested. At times she even said something back to them what seemed like a good and tried to keep the conversation up.

To be honest Sasha had no idea about what her own mother book even talked about. She had never read it.

All the girl wanted was to get away from here and do something else instead. She felt like she doesn't belong here at all.

PostSubject: Re: Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries)   Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries) EmptyTue Oct 10, 2017 8:51 pm

Winter in New York was a bitch.

Not that Jackson Blake liked the overcrowded, overcast, torch welding, Time Square bearing tourist trap teeming with immigrants on any other season, but there really was something about the winter that brought out the pungent smell of urine on the streets and the homeless meth addicts begging for change out into the parks. Of course, the people who traveled in fancy cars and frequented the big shiny buildings wouldn't know any of this, but Jackson had never been one of those people. He was hardly one of those people now despite his political career.

The raven haired young man had found it was never a good sign to go into New York with a republican entourage, someone always found something to protest regardless of how little sense it made. And, being a relative newcomer, the former Mayor of Green Lake figured he might sneak into the heart of Democratic country on a solo mission first. If he survived, he would send word back to Wisconsin. In the meantime, Jackson hailed a cab. As much as he would have liked to walk to The Plaza, he doubted the three thousand dollar suit under his old home brought coat would bear the journey. He'd have to check that ratty old thing in before being spotted by anyone of note.

The journey was slow, punctuated by the usual shouts, honks and fingers the good people of New York utilized on the road and Jackson found himself drifting off. He had had never expected to actually like Kit Harrington's written works (the man's art certainly didn't make a lick of sense, according to Merida) when he'd bought a second hand copy of an old volume full of poetry many years ago as a tribute to the man's only daughter. But the more he read, the more the words - cliche as it may be - spoke to him. He could never really pinpoint the emotion the poet injected in all his verses, it made Jackson feel both glad and experience a profound sense of loss.

But the launch was not the only reason Jackson was headed to The Plaza today. Kit Harrington just so happened to be one of the only remaining independent donors when it came to political party affiliations. True his last few generous Superpacs had gone left, but the man insisted he was an independent. If he hadn't been as wealthy or influential as he was, no one would have given a fuck.

Sadly life didn't work that way. As the cab driver pulled into the main entrance, Jackson paid the fair, waiting patiently for the change the driver was unwilling to return. Small town habits died hard, even in big cities. After dutifully checking his coat at the ante chamber, the young wizard headed towards the ballroom, the luxurious carpet underneath him masking any sound his most expensive pair of shoes might have made otherwise.

Larger than life covers of the new book look place of pride all around the room, the picture of a woman in nude dominated this edition of Kit Harrington's poetry. Jackson could appreciate the tastefulness of the cover though, rather than the designer focusing on the usual B&B combination, the model appeared to have been captured mid turn, as if she was caught doing something wrong and was in the act of running away. The cover only showed the woman until her slim bare shoulders, her face left to the imagination of the beholder. On the curve of her waist, the title of the book sat unobtrusively - Perfection - Volume 2.

Well Blake, time to pretend you know poetry, the young man thought to himself as he moved to one of the many standing stations where waiters loomed with drinks and finger food. He could already see a group of pretty women draped over the bar and made his way there. Time to start a conversation with a can of Sprite.

Sasha kept listening to those people who had gathered now around her. Seems like her mother just kept sending people towards her. To be honest most of the time she had no idea what they talked about there now. So she was kind of lost there.

She smiled and tried to keep up with things but at some point, it got really hard and she just excused herself. She just went to the bathroom for minutes. She really needed used it. She was so nervous suddenly. Just she isn't used to be around people with whom she has nothing really talk about. So she did her business there away and when she came out there she walked over some bar instead.

She didn't plan to go back to those people there. Since doing that wasn't really good idea. She will just mess things up and she also needed some drink. So she just ordered her some Sprite there. She wasn't allowed to drink even if she looked today probably older than she is but she herself knew she was young.

Then again she didn't wanna get drunk here and make fool of herself. So she decided to keep drinking soft drinks. She took a seat on one of the bar stools. She just tried to stay out of her mother radar right now. So she wouldn't have to be social with all those people with whom she didn't know.

She had no idea what she was doing and why she was here. To be honest she was so lost here.  All she wished was to spend time with her mother but she had understood all this so wrong. Now she knows why her mother brought her here. It was because she needed someone who can represent her better than herself.

All this was just so messed up for Sasha. She took a sip from her Sprite and just sighed. She wished to just go away from here but she didn't know New York at all. If she leaves this building then she will just get lost and this she didn't want either. This girl actually had no idea what she even wanted.

She just sat there and thought what she should even do next now. To go back to those people or find someone else to talk with, who is more interesting for her.

PostSubject: Re: Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries)   Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries) EmptyWed Oct 11, 2017 6:53 pm

As it turned out,the New York Posh As Fuck scene wasn't nearly as forgiving as the local watering hole down in Green lake. Heck his can of Sprite raised perfectly manicured eyebrows from the fairer sex even at bars in Milwaukee yet here he sat, on his second can and conversing idly with a blonde who couldn't spell poetry let along appreciate it. So far they had spoken of her father who had turned out to be her date, her preferences for brand shopping in their native countries and places she hoped to visit someday.

Jackson listened politely, all the while trying to think of an excuse to slip out of the conversation. His chance came when her "date" came to escort her to the main area where the author was about to give a speech.

For a moment, the raven haired young man considered getting up, going to stand with the appreciative audience, maybe even wave a bit. Kit might remember him after all. But then a particularly flustered looking redhead slunk towards the bar and his morals wavered. Though what piqued his curiosity even more was that she too nursed the same drink as he at an open bar. A man didn't ignore fate like this.

So it was that Jackson Blake did his gentlemanly duty and swiveled on the bar stool, looking at the young girl two seats way. She looked young, barely out of her teens perhaps. A college girl with another fifty something millionaire was too cliche for him to even consider as he made eye contact and grinned."You know where I'm from, it's a crime to let pretty girls drink alone."

Raising his can to her, he made the universal gesture of "cheers" before taking a sip. Should the girl smile or make any indication that she did not mind her alone-ness being compromised, Jackson would casually close the distance, moving to the seat beside her.

"I see we've chosen the same poison tonight. Though why are you drinking this swill if I may ask?" He would wait for her answer before asking her another questions.

"So, are you here for the poetry or the poet? From what I gather, it's really fifty fifty." He wasn't even trying to make a joke. If Jackson felt so inclined, he liked to think he could categories everyone at the venue into the two above categories. The thought alone made him curious.

Sasha was there slowly drinking her drink and avoiding literally everyone. She wasn't really mood to be very social one right now. All she wanted just to get away from here and be somewhere else. She now knew why her mother wanted her here. She just had higher hopes there that she really wanted to spend time with her. The girl was so wrong.

She was so in her own world there that she didn't notice that someone had sneaked near here until the person did speak there. She looked up from her drink towards the person and tried to flash her smile which wasn't really real today. It barely was. She was good at hiding her sadness behind smiles. It was habit what she has done already for years, so has become a master in it already you could even say that.

"Oh well, thanks, I guess for giving me some company," she said with a small smile on her face. She was glad it wasn't someone who is talking there about some books or then poetry about what she doesn't know anything. She didn't really fit in here at all. She did read but not these kinds of books. She wasn't yet too old enough to read some of these books.

Well, Sasha then did the same gesture back too before taking a sip from her can what she was holding in her right hand. She was just trying to be nice there towards the boy, who he didn't even know. She knew he was probably way older than she was. She could tell and you would never think she is only fifteen right now. She looked bit older today.

"Well getting drunk didn't seem a good idea. So light drink it is," she said and she didn't exactly lie but she was still underage and she didn't want to get drunk first time ever at some lounch thing for sure. The girl has never been drunk before or even drink any alcohol, not even out of curiosity. She is very innocent still in so many things.

"Erm...," she started and wondered what she should say. Truth or lie. "Actually neither. I basically ended here because my mother wanted me to be here. Well mostly because so I could social with these poets and so on. Maybe even get her more known. This is what I learned here. I thought she wanted me here to spend time together but no. So I'm here at this bar because I needed an escape from those people," she said there honestly. There was no point of lying really. Maybe he could help her get out of this place or at least make her feel better.

PostSubject: Re: Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries)   Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries) EmptyWed Oct 11, 2017 9:14 pm

When the beautiful redhead didn't seem averse to company, Jackson found his smile becoming easier. After all, he wasn't here to make forced conversation, not to good looking girls at a bar of some fashion anyway. A man had his pride, and Jackson was rather used to being the one the opposite gender bought drinks for. When she thanked him for keeping her company, the boy's coal dark eyes twinkled.

"My honor Ma'am," he mock drawled in his best southern accent, hoping to make her smile. Her answer as to why she was drinking soda sans liquor made him pause though.

"Hmm, good looking and smart," he mused out loud for her benefit, bringing forth a charming smile. "If it turns out you can sing too, you'd be the perfect triple threat." As for her assumption that this wasn't a good place to get drunk, Jackson had his doubts. Many of the people here would be drunk in an hour or so, there was a reason these type of events had an open bar.

Putting down his can, he extended a hand towards her, his grip firm should she take it. "I'm Jackson Blake, and you are Mysterious Clever Girl at the Bar until you tell me your name." Should she mention her name, it would be amended in his mind and if she choose to run with his imagination, well Jackson had definitely been through worse than not getting a woman's name on the first night. Her accent was unique, he noted. But it wasn't enough to conclude she was a foreigner. They were real touchy about that here in Democratic country.

It was her short recounting of why she was here that made the smile ebb away from his face. Was she for real? And here Jackson thought only men used dates as trophies. Here, the poor girl was being paraded around by her own mother - if her story was to be believed.

"Hey um..." he tried, taken aback now that he had to console someone instead of flirt with them. The girl looked genuinely miserable for a moment though, lending to the credibility of her story. "Your mom sounds like a piece of work," he finally managed, reaching for his can of drink once more and taking a deep swig to give himself time to think.

"Which one is she?" he asked, making a wide gesture with the hand still holding the drink. "Or if you want, we can play a fun game where I point out all the ugly chicks until I find her. it might cheer you up?" Perhaps not the most tasteful joke but it might make her smile. Plus if this woman was responsible for his current companion's bad mood, then they could afford some fun at the offender's expense.

PostSubject: Re: Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries)   Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries) EmptyWed Oct 11, 2017 9:41 pm

The girl was glad that there was someone who could lift her spirit to be better at least a little bit. She really didn't know him but she didn't worry about it right now. She just decided to enjoy this until it lasts.

She just smiled there. Well, she was considered smart yes most of the time. The only thing in what she wasn't smart was her parents. She always believed what they said and always got hurt. She never learned from it at all. She always made same mistakes over and over again.

"I guess thanks again," she said when the male said she was smart and beautiful. "Actually I have never tried to sing in front of anyone. I do sing at times under shower but I have no idea if I'm good," she said with a smile. This male really managed to lift her spirits. She wasn't sure why but he did.

Sasha put her can on bar table too and looked at his hand for a second. At the end, she decided to shake it still. "I'm Sasha Denver," she said her name there now. "It's nice to meet you, Jackson," she added there with a small smile. It really was nice to meet him for her at least.

"Well, my mother is that yeah maybe. Never understood her," she said and sighed. She can't even remember what her mother was like, personality wise. All she knows that her mother isn't so social as she is. This is the reason why she is her and she hates it really. When she heard that she should point out which is her mother then she looked around the room a bit.

She even heard his joke and which for some reasons made her giggle a bit. She wasn't sure why she did even. She was like a few minutes ago sad but now is giggling. She wasn't sure what was going on with her. "No need. She is there, the woman in the red dress, trying to talk those males there. And fails miserably probably. She isn't really good at socialising with others," she said and pointed towards where her mother was. She didn't really care if her mother saw her or not anymore. At least she was doing some socialising even if it wasn't for her mother.

PostSubject: Re: Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries)   Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries) EmptyWed Oct 11, 2017 10:27 pm

As Sasha pointed out her mother - an awkward if not really ugly presence in the red dress - Jackson got the sense that his companion didn't really want to disparage the questionable Mrs. Denver. Despite what the woman had done to her daughter, Sasha seemed determined to be kind enough to not make a fool of her mother, even if privately.

Her giggle was infection, making his grin break out once again. Before he could say anything though, a hush fell over the ballroom as the lights dimmed and the posters depicting the book cover grew brighter. Kit Harrington was taking center stage to talk about his latest accomplishment. Jackson quietly gestured for Sasha's can to be replaced with a fresh one as he turned slightly to face the stage area, being polite into the first few words of the man's speech.

To Kit's credit, he wasn't nearly as pompous as he could have been. The man thanked them for coming, apologized for taking up their Christmas Eve, said he had a granddaughter waiting at home to yell at him so he could empathize, then continued on about the book.

Jackson tuned him out, turning to Sasha once more. "You know, as much as I don't approve of your charming mother's antics, I'm just a little glad she brought you here tonight," he whispered, leaning closer to be better heard. There was a speech underway, he didn't want to be rude.

"And I bet if you read any of Kit's work, you might actually like it. I know the man seems shallower than a doggy bowl but his writing is... personal somehow. You get the feeling he's writing in a journal instead of something for other people to read." For a moment, true bewilderment touched his features before they smoothed over once more into a relaxed smile.

"I know, how about I buy you a copy? then you can read it and it can be our excuse for staying in touch." It was a bit presumptuous perhaps for him to think she would want to, but hey, he was usually right on the call. And despite the fact that they were in a clearly cliche chat up position, he really did feel bad for what she had to go through. If she agreed, he would reach out for one of the leaflets scattered all around the place, ticking the type of copy he wished to purchase.

"Well Sasha, its a shame you're here on Christmas Eve in New York. There are so many better places to see in this city. What are you doing after the launch?"

PostSubject: Re: Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries)   Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries) EmptyWed Oct 11, 2017 11:05 pm

Sasha didn't say anything more about her mother. She didn't really wanna talk about her. This will make her sadness just come back. She had no idea how old the Jackson even was and how old he thought she was. And she wasn't old enough actually to be here as she has learned now by some things.

She was bit surprised when this place went dim. Well, she just wasn't used to with places like this. She has never ever before been at any launch. So this all was new for her. She still tried to get used to so many things here for sure. She didn't even notice that Jackson got fresher drinks her focus was towards the man who was talking about his book maybe. She really had no idea, she barely did even listen after Jackson began to whisper things to her near her.

"Erm, okay. Well yeah, no will approve what she did. What she did was wrong but I'm glad I found someone who is enjoyable and doesn't talk only about waitress and poets I have no idea who they are," she whispered there back. She didn't really wanna be rude there too towards the man who was giving the speech.

"Oh well. I have never read his books and maybe yeah I could give it try. Depends on what it is really about. I haven't even had time to check it out," the girl said there. And it was true. All she did earlier was socialise with people and then she was here at the bar.

"Well if you want you can buy me copy and then we can see if I enjoy the book or not," she said with a small smile. To be honest the girl had no idea that Jackson was trying to flirt there with her. She was so clueless about this really. Flirting was something she has never done herself. She has never needed.

When there was asked what she does after this then she looked towards her mother and then to Jackson. "To be honest I have no plans. Unless my mother wants me to go some other event. Which I would really really like to skip right now," she said there and sighed at the end. She wasn't even supposed to be here.

PostSubject: Re: Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries)   Why I am really here ?(For Aza charries) EmptyThu Oct 12, 2017 9:51 pm

When Sasha admitted to never having read one of Kit Harrington's books, Jackson took it as an invitation to convince her to give them a try. It was a little indulgent but they were at a book launch, and he hoped she would forgive him the slight amount of fan boy-ing. Pkicking up the leaflet which boasted the same cover of the disrobed woman caught in the act of turning away from the camera, he pointed to the picture.

"This is his second volume. the first had a similar cover, but showing only the legs, as if the model was getting up of the floor or a chair. His covers always show something mid motion... And there's never a face. I think it's important because he shoots the covers himself." If nothing else, Sasha would leave tonight with a better knowledge of a good poet.

"I was never a fan of poetry growing up myself, it always seemed too pretentious and wordy to me. But his work doesn't feel that way. Some pieces are really short, just three or four lines, and they speak to you." Looking at her, the young man took a chance, his gaze directed to her sparkling eyes

"Though my soul may set in darkness,
It will rise in perfect light.
I have loved the stars too fondly,
To be fearful of the night."

There, if that didn't convince her, nothing would. The raven haired man lapsed into silence once more, listening to the speech in the background but mostly examining the redhead sitting beside him. She looked lonely, she had been sad a while ago but he was changing that, she clearly wasn't averse to his advances and she had no plans later tonight.

It had also been a few weeks since he'd had any fun. Maybe she was up for the same kind of fun he was?

"Well, it would be a shame if you got bored in New York of all places," he began, a soft hint in his voice. "What say you tell your mom you're going out sightseeing after this event and I'll show you some of the less crazy places here? It's Christmas Eve so the whole city is lit up. You shouldn't have to miss that for some stuffy event."

There, the question was phrased as just enough of a suggestion to keep his ego from getting hurt should she say no. And if she said yes, well, New York really did have some nice places. With a bit of luck, they would actually end up having a good time.
