| As they say folks, the best laid plans of mice and men...
The fourth match of the League between GRYFFINDOR (A) and HUFFLEPUFF (B) was strategist with a beautiful spring day in mind. Sadly even though the calendar says it's spring, no one has informed the weather for the tenth of March, Sunday, Hogwarts awoke to a fresh powdery layer of snow covering the pitch.
After a quick meeting of Professors led by resident Quidditch Expert, Jake Newbury, it was decided that the snow was only severe enough to annoy the players but not enough to cancel the game. So by 2 p.m. both the teams and the crowds bundled up and headed to the stands in support of the players risking hypothermia up in the skies. It should be noted that this group of spectators was the smallest to attend a match this year, a mere two hundred students braved the snow to cheer on the Lions and the Badgers.
And the results, well well well...

| Well folks, it may have been snowing earlier but there's no doubt the Lions lit the pitch on fire with their outstanding performance. All chasers were in perfect sync, passing the Quaffle at lightning speed between them with Mercy Williams scoring six of the total fourteen goals. Not a bad show for the youngest member of the team!
The Hufflepuffs - burdened by both the weather and perhaps their abysmal scores in the Cup so far - seem to barely even try. Their one strategy was to get the Snitch before the Lions did but even that hope was dashed when veteran Gryffindor Seeker performed an excellent feint and distracted the Badgers from the fact that the Snitch was hovering near their goal posts.
Altogether, the game ended with 290 to 70, cementing perhaps Hufflepuff's place as last in this year's Quidditch Cup. Will the Badgers' luck turn? No one seems to be betting on it. ________________________________________________

| Fifth May, the first Sunday of the last month brings with it a match between two teams who seem to have suffered more bad luck this season than carriers of the Elder Wand. The match between HUFFLEPUFF (A) the team trailing behind everyone else this League and SLYTHERIN (B) who despite their clever strategies never quite seemed to gain the upper hand.
The Sunday morning dawned clear and pleasant, drawing more people away from the library and into the pitch. Both teams have little to lose at this point but for Slytheirn, a sufficient enough win could put them back in the running. The Hufflepuff team has unveiled their secret weapon, a new Seeker named Sterling Goldwasser who has yet to prove his worth in an official game.
The snakes are also adding veteran chaser Alexei Blackthorn to their line up. Blackthorn has been spotted during practice but like Goldwasser, has not played in an official match yet. We wish them both a fun, virginal match.

| What a roller coaster ride folks. the match began with the humble Hufflepuffs taking the skies to no one's expectations. Which goes to show that you always exceed expectations others don't have of you. We don't know for a fact that the Hufflepuff Chasers were juicing but it certainly looked like Felix Felicis was in the air. Where was this performance the whole year, badgers?
The Slytherin team on the other hand was poorly coordinated with the worse performance of the afternoon coming from Captain and Keeper, Ronald Brovlovsky. The snakes were only able to score nine goals total, six of which were taken by Alexei Blackthorn. The team will certainly be worse off without its Italian heartthrob next year.
And despite the lackluster performance during the two and a half hour match, the Snakes still managed to win as their Seeker caught the Snitch due to sheer dumb luck and clever bat work on the part of Ozskar Cserepes who lobbed a bludger Goldwasser's way to keep him from chasing after the snitch.
The match concluded with 180 to 240 in favor of the Serpents, the closest match we've had all year, folks. Now to see if the grand finale will provide any more surprises in two weeks time. ________________________________________________

| Well folks, exams might be over but the tension and race for the Quidditch Cup is certainly not. Today's final will prove once and for all who takes home the cup though the fight is most against the Hufflepuffs who are already out of the running. Slytherins' in current lead but can be easily ousted by Ravenclaw in today's performance while Gryffindor can still take the lead with a wide enough victory margin.
The Pitch smells ready and ripe for blood today, ladies and gentleman, Sunday, the 26th of May will live on infamy for this GRYFFINDOR (A) vs RAVENCLAW (B) match!
A lot is expected of Mercy Williams, the Lions' emerging young star player while the Ravenclaws are expected to perform as well as they've been doing all season. But will the exam pressure have gotten to our favorite bookworms? Only time will tell.
