Elleon kepts his eyes on the professor unsure of his way of indicating that class was starting. If it was something verbal or audible, Elleon would definitely miss it if he wasn't looking for it. His fingers itched to take out his sketchbook and doodle down some ideas that were cropping into his mind but for fear of missing Professor Holmes' words, he refrained.
He was glad he did so when the professor began the class. He'd completed his OWLs the previous year but that didn't mean he was going to slack this year. In fact, he'd put in more effort to graduate with better grades than he had in his OWLs. Determination to do one thing and actually managing to do it however, proved to be two very different things.
He knew the answers to Professor Holmes' questions but writing it down took time, time he did not have. He had just written his first word when a movement caught his eye. Instinctively, he knew that someone had raised their hands to answer. A Hearing person wouldn't have to look to know what was being said - they could just hear.
Keeping the pen in his fingers, he trained his eyes on Delia's lips and worked out what she was saying. It would've been a lot more difficult had he no known her before, but since he'd interacted with her, he kind of knew the way she formed her lips around certain words. He was impressed with her answer, since it wasn't regurgitated from the textbook.
He wasn't given a chance to write his own answer when Elenore raised her hand after Delia was finished. Again, the question was answered before Elleon could pen it down when a Slytherin continued on from the two girls. They'd covered just about everything that could be said regarding Professor Holmes' question, leaving Elleon with nothing else to write down. He was frustrated but there wasn't anything he could do about it.
