A Friendship Blooms {Sterling & Dominique}

Sterling nodded. "Yes, niedlich means cute," he said with a small smile. As she said she was thrilled he chuckled. "Yes, as am I." She said something about her parents owning a network and he tilted his head. "A.. network? What network?" He couldn't quite remember the meaning of the word but knew once Dia told him about this so-called "network" he would be able to work out the answer.

He chuckled when the words went straight to the girl's heart. He didn't care about the little plant as much as he had been trying to get closer and talk to her, though it didn't seem to have worked considering she hadn't seemed to notice. "Well, I'm gonna go ahead and pack up my guitar while you finish watering and gardening and stuff. I have a couple papers I have to write, and as much as I wish they would, they aren't going to write themselves."

Dominique was glad that she got something right. But it was because she was paying attention. “ Yay I got something right.” She was excited that he would be coming to the United States this summer. Now she only had to tell her parents. Which she was sure they would have no problem with it. “ I am sure that you are going to love the United States.” As Dia was proud of her country. She then told him that her parents owned a network. And she could tell that he had no idea what that was.

“ Oh my parents own Fox network.” She didn’t think anything of this, as it was something that she was used to. Dominique knew that she was an heiress but really sure what that meant. It was something that she could ask her parents sometime.

She then listened as Sterling said that he was going to back up his guitar. As he needed to go do some homework. “ Yeah I think I have some homework that I need to do. “ But she wanted to make sure that her iris were doing good. Dominique was glad that she came down because she got to meet Sterling.

He laughed as she seemed so excited to have gotten the word correct. "Yes, you did! Are you interested in learning German? I could always teach you some if you'd like. As long as you can help me out when I don't know a proper English word for something." He sincerely hoped she would want to if only so he would have another excuse to talk to her again.

He frowned for a moment... Fox network... Oh! He grinned and nodded, finally understanding. The TV network, of course. Like Sky or Discovery Networks CEEMEA back at home. Well, good. Maybe, in that case, her family had money, and would even possibly interest his father.

He let her finish her gardening as he packed up his instrument. Before closing the case, however, he pulled out a pen, walking back over to the girl. "Here," he said, offering the pen and opening his palm out flat. "You can write your phone number on my hand. That way I can put it on my phone when I get back to my room, and be able to text you."

Dominique was glad when she actually knew what it meant. That meant that she was paying attention. Then he asked if she was interested in learning German. Which it was something that she hasn’t thought about. But it wouldn’t hurt to know another language. “ I would love to learn German as I am sure that it will help me out.” It seemed like she had to help him with English, which was a fair trade. “ I think that I could do that. Helping you with your English.”

She then told Sterling about her parents owning the fox network. Took him a while, but it seemed like he realized what she was talking about.

Dominique was tending to her plants. Sterling was packing his instrument. She then looked up and noticed that he pulled out a pen. Sterling was telling her that she could write her number on the palm of her hand. As she was saying that she would give him her number. Dominique then wrote her number in his hand. “ Ok there you go.”

He smiled as she agreed to learn German. She even agreed to help him with the little English he still struggled with. Of course, he had his tutor for that, but why learn something from a stuffy old dude when he could learn from and spend time with Dia? "Well perfect. We can write or text over the summer, and some of your lessons can be in the letters!"

He grinned when she finished with the phone number. "Thank you!" He placed the pen back in the case and closed it with his clean hand, not wanting to smudge the still-wet numbers while he clicked the latches of the case closed. He returned to his own plants to empty his watering can and put both it and the hose back where he found them before coming back to the girl's side to wait for her to finish her plant tending.

It seemed like Dominique was going to learn German. As she was going to do her best to help Sterling with his English. She was excited about the part writing letters and also texting over the summer. But some lessons might be in the letters. “ It is going to be excited as I usually only get letters from Mimosa.” Summer break would soon be here and she would finish her first year at Hogwarts.

She then wrote her cell number in his hand. “ Your welcome.” He then was closing the case to his guitar and was putting up the water can. As he was doing that, it would give her a chance to talk to her flowers. Dominique smiled as she was looking at them. “ Oh look how big you have grown! Soon you will be a beautiful flower.” She loved talking to them as she thought that it was helping them. “ Soon I have to go home for the summer. Hopefully you will be alright.” Dominique didn’t like the idea of leaving them. “ Maybe I can find someone to look after you while I am gone.”

Dominique looked at her plants. “ Well I have to go do some homework for Global Citizenship. I will see you soon.” She then walked back over to Sterling after she was done talking to her plants. “ Wanna walk back to the castle together?"

He nodded, "yes, I really don't send many letters other than with my mum and my sister, and my grandparents, but over the summer I obviously don't need to send letters to my mum. She's the only one I write in English with, she is trying to learn as well, though I don't know why, so it'll be nice to be able to still practice my English over the summer, apart from my lessons with Mr. Bäumler. My older sister knows English, she just doesn't speak it where she lives now, so it's easier for us to write in German." He found himself just as excited for the summer, though he was dreading having to spend so much time with his father.

Sterling grinned as he listened to Dominique talk to her flowers. It was adorable how she doted over them and cared for them. Well, not adorable exactly, he warned himself with a small frown. He couldn't be thinking of the younger girl as "adorable" that would only lead to a mess he was sure. She's... caring. And... she's only helping them grow, as studies show talking to them helps. Yet he couldn't get the previous thought out of his head as he glanced at the girl once more, a small smile smoothing the frown from his face. "Perhaps you could take them with you? I don't think at this stage it would be too terribly hard or damage them too much to move them to a large pot or something."

He nodded as the girl asked if he wanted to walk back with her. "Of course! Sounds fantastic." He walked over to the door, opening it and gesturing for her to go through. "Frauen zuerst" he said, "meaning ladies, or women, first."

Dominique smiled as she listened to Sterling. “ Then I would love to write you over the summer.” As she was sure that this was going to help out his English. And it was always nice to get letters. So she was going to make it her goal to write him every day. Even if there was nothing exciting going on. But then again it seemed like there was something always going on. So she was sure that she could find something to talk about. “ I will try and write you every day.” She was hoping that Sterling would be able to visit the United States.

Sterling then suggested that she could take them home with her. As they were still in the bulb stage. “ No I will leave them here. If they die they will always come back. That is the great thing about them.” So she was sure that they would be fine. And she knew that she had other flowers in the flower bed at home.

Dominique then asked if Sterling wanted to walk back with her. And he said yes, so she gave a smile. As she walked out the door and back up to the castle with him.
