| The odds worked perfectly in Jackson's favor as the eve of the wedding dawned with Sasha nowhere in sight. She really did have an extra class or a trip or whatever it was his team was going to spin, leaving him and Victoria all alone in the big house to get ready. As always, the tiny lawyer had made her way over to his residence to begin the odious process of getting ready for an event. Jackson would never understand why it took him less than half an hour to put his ensemble together while it took Victoria close to four hours. Women and their clothes, he supposed.
His query about the guest list had yielded good omens. Unknowingly, his legal counsel had confirmed that Tessa Greene was indeed going to be attending the wedding of the year and Jackson couldn't be happier at the prospect of seeing her again. Their secret text messages were still an ongoing thing but lately Tessa had found herself more busy with work. Jackson figured she probably needed a reminder of what she was missing, the idea making him look smugly at the man in the mirror. Even in the silly peach tie, he definitely still had it.
Having completed the finishing touches of perfume and a final ruffle through his hair, giving it just the imperfect touch, the politician reached for his shoes. The shiny wingtips glistered almost to the point of reflective as he put them on before a final glance in the mirror to ensure the image would translate well to paper and web based news stories. He had a reputation to protect, after all.
Walking out of his room, the man made his way down the stairs, knowing full well not to interrupt the women folk when they were getting ready. As always, Victoria would be late but not late enough to give him time for a round of Fortnite on he old console. So instead, the senator made his way to the kitchen.
Only to find a glass of wine in the sink.
Having had no reason to visit the kitchen all day, Jackson could only assume this was his fiance's doing. The glass was empty and it was in the sink. But having been left unwashed, the remaining droplets of alcohol had created a very significant scent in that corner of the kitchen.
A scent Jackson knew was going to make him heady if he stayed around long enough.
And yet, his eyes remained glued to the crystal glass, contemplating it where it sat, his feet unable to move away.... Jackson's Suit ________________________________________________

| The day of Wyatt Jameson's wedding had come around much, much too quickly for Victoria's liking. The thought of willingly choosing to spend the day in the company of the man was enough to make the young witch's stomach become unsettled as the prospect became more and more imminent. But, with each pang of fear that threatened to cripple her body, Victoria had reminded herself again and again that there was a point to doing this. That she was doing this for Jackson, and that was enough of a focus to keep Victoria going with the idea.
Besides, if she was going, it would keep Sasha from having to deal with the older politician whom she had, thankfully, not ran in to yet.
Another solace for the day, Victoria had reflected as it drew closer. An innocent young witch was not going to be subjected to the crude behaviour of politicians. There was no other solace, though, Victoria had found upon obtaining the guest list as Jackson had asked. The list was full of people whom Victoria would never care to spend time with, in truth, apart form, perhaps, Tessa Greene. Though, Victoria had never met the witch, she trusted Jackson's choice in friends. After all, the owner of Fox Network couldn't be that bad if Jackson had agreed to be the Godfather of their only daughter, right? Jackson hadn't explained his need to see the list, and Victoria had not seen fit to question it.
The weeks they had turned in to days, which quickly turned in to hours. As Victoria sat trying to make herself look as beautiful as Jackson's fiance -- because Merlin knew Sasha was beautiful -- to please the media, she could hear the man moving around in his own rooms getting ready. It was difficult to know how Jackson truly felt about this, because they hadn't spoken of it, but Victoria knew it couldn't be easy, watching your ex-girlfriend getting married to another man. The thought of seeing Zander getting married off left a little bit of an unpleasant feeling in Victoria's stomach, even though she hadn't thought of her university boyfriend in some time. But Jackson Blake was a strong man, Victoria had faith in him completely.
As the witch finished curling her hair in to soft spirals, and applied the dainty, silver earrings that Azalea had sent over for her to borrow -- which looked much too pricey, but Victoria couldn't refuse -- she pulled her perfume bottle over and sprayed a generous amount to her neck and then her wrists, ensuring that even though they would be out for hours, the effect would be lasting. Then, leaning over carefully, Victoria pulled on the four and a half inch heels that she'd bought to match her dress, and carefully strapped them in place, adding a careful cushioning spell in an effort to save her feet from feeling as crippled as they had the last time Jackson had taken her as his plus one to a social event.
Standing from her seat before the mirror -- thank Merlin she'd been allowed to decorate Jackson's pretend castle -- Victoria took herself in with only a sweeping glance before collecting the matching clutch bag and present for their guests. Descending the stairs carefully, the witch had just been about to call out to Jackson when she'd found him frozen in the kitchen doorway, looking at something almost... longingly?
For a moment, the witch wasn't sure if she'd come in to something of a tender moment between Jackson and his fiance, but when he didn't move for some time longer, she carefully placed down her bag and the present for the Jamesons, and moved to the man's side, her hand gently resting upon his forearm as she looked to see what he was seeing. It would have taken others longer, Victoria was sure, but her eyes landed straight on the object that was severely out of place in Jackson's kitchen, her hand moving instantly to the concealed pocket in her dress to extract her wand. With a silent flick towards the sink, the water turned on, and the glass was being washed of any remaining alcohol that remained within in. The wand was slipped discretely away as Victoria's hand moved up from the man's arm to his cheek, gently prizing his eyes away from the offending item, to her.
"Hey," Victoria greeted softly, her hand leaving his face the moment she was sure he was focused on her, instead moving to take his hand and gently, but not forcefully, moving Jackson out of the kitchen and away from the temptation of the alcohol that had been left. "How do I look?" Victoria asked, because they did not need to focus on the wine glass, nor did they need to discuss who's it was. To emphasise the question, Victoria gave a careful twirl, before looking up to him for his opinion.
"Your tie... May I?" She asked, moving forwards to smooth out the top of Jackson's tie that was trying to undo his suave look. "I think I got the measurements down perfectly! Are you ready?" Victoria asked, leaving it open for them to talk about the glass if the male so wished, or they could leave it here the moment they left the house. As always, the solid support of the politician was there, and never pushed beyond the comfort of what he was, or was not, comfortable talking about. ________________________________________________

| He didn't hear or feel her as much as he smelled it. Not her subtle, sweet perfume, not even the natural scent of her hair. No the thing that brought Jackson back was the sharp scent of dish soap as it made quick work of the wine glass in the sink. Within seconds, the sweet, dizzying aroma of wine had vanished, replaced with a sharp lemony tang that entered his lungs like fresh, merciful oxygen before Victoria's hand touched his cheek, redirecting his gaze to her.
Yes, he could look at Victoria, she was safe. He could inhale her, he could let her steer him away and sit him down on the couch. The witch was doing her best to distract him, asking him how she looked. Jackson tried hard to focus on the question, give it real consideration. The energy needed to think drawing him out of his state as he gazed up and down her body before finally replying with "Tall".
The Goblin did look tall, probably employing the usual dark magic she kept just for these events. It was weird to be looking up at her, so weird it almost disoriented him, making him fall back on the couch as he motioned for her to come closer for a second. He felt her wight shift on the cushion beside him, his eyes closed to the world. But once he felt her close, he reached out, pulling her into a mixture of a hug and a cuddle, trying to match his breathing to her own calm, fluttery ones.
It took a few minutes, but finally the world returned to normal, Jackson letting go of the witch to allow her to straighten up and then getting to his own feet, letting her tease the creases away from his own jacket. "Sorry about that,' he mumbled as she worked, straightening his lapel and tie again. 'Sasha... she's always busy so she forgets sometimes. An accident."
He would speak no more on the subject. There was no point in telling Victoria that his fucking fiance couldn't remember that he was a recovering alcoholic and shouldn't have drinks lying around. Well, didn't remember or didn't care. And Jackson wasn't about to admit either of those things.
"Shall we get going? Can't keep the bride and groom waiting now," he attempted as a joke, leaving Victoria to gather her purse and the shiny wrapped present she had picked out and he hadn't even bothered looking at. For all the Senator knew, they were giving the happy couple their fifty seventh blender.
As planned, they were taking Jackson's SUV, a convenient excuse to not drink since he would have to drive home. The man moved ahead to open her door for her, fully appreciating that the princess's hands were occupied managing her purse and the gift. Once he had the witch settled in, the wizard climbed aboard himself, reaching at once to roll down the windows. "Do you mind," he asked absently as he started the engine, feeling the night breeze entering the vehicle and clearing his head further.
They drove with the windows down the whole way, Jackson taking in deep lungfuls of the fresh Milwaukee air and slowly, breath by breath, returning to his usual, jovial self. ________________________________________________

| Jackson's comment of her being tall brought a soft laugh from Victoria's lips. "I have to be, next to you!" The witch quipped back lightly, allowing him to make of that whatever he would in that moment. It wasn't a dig, though, wearing heels was not the worst thing she'd ever had to do for the man.
The hug that Jackson had initiated had not been expected by Victoria in truth. She knew, of course, that this was difficult for the man, but she hadn't expected this reaction. In truth, she'd never seen Jackson so focused on alcohol as he had been in that moment, so the increased reaction this time was not really a surprise when you took it all in, but in the moment, it had been. Victoria had allowed the man that much, too, allowing him to hold her close in that moment, as he short arms did the best to wrap around him as much as they could in the position beside him.
Neither one of them spoke in that moment, and they didn't need to, Victoria simply allowed the moment to pass to the point where Jackson was ready to speak, or leave. The only explanation that came, though, was that it had been Sasha's glass, and she'd forgotten. It went without saying that Victoria knew that it wasn't Jackson's doing. If it had been Jackson... well, it wouldn't have been one glass, and he wouldn't be in the condition he was right now. Instead, Victoria just assured him that it was okay, and that she would mention it to Sasha when she saw the younger witch next. Perhaps Sasha didn't quite understand what these small things did to her fiance, but it could be rectified with explanations to help Jackson in the future.
And, if it was a mistake on the red head's part, then she would hopefully work harder to not do such things again.
They moved swiftly out towards the SUV, Jackson being the gentleman he always was with her, and helping her in to her side of the car, before hurrying around to his own side. "The food better be good," Victoria commented as she pulled on her seatbelt. "I'm beyond hungry, and midnight pizza is not going to come quickly enough!" The witch joked lightly as they pulled off, Jackson putting down the windows to let in the cool night's air. The wind ruffled between the light curls Victoria had opted for, but she'd had the foresight to magic them to stay in place for the evening so she didn't have to worry.
As they rolled on to the highway, Jackson's mood growing brighter now he was away from the tension of his home, Victoria reached forward to the radio, noting the scrolling words denoting a good old classic song from Journey. "Come on, you know the words, Senator Blake!" Victoria encouraged him lightly, and for the rest of the trip, the duo kept up a string of duets as they drove along. Only as they pulled in to the Country Club did Victoria turn the music back down, feeling more relaxed than she should have as she wound up the windows and went over one more time what they were using as their excuse for Sasha not being here, and that she was joining him in the not drinking because it wasn't fair that she could drink whilst he had to drive them both home.
With everything set for the evening, the duo arrived at the front of the country club that had been done over with so many unnecessarily expensive items Victoria wasn't sure where to look as a valet moved forth to open her door instead of Jackson coming round to open it. Thanking the man regardless, Victoria climbed down carefully from the SUV, collecting her clutch bag and the soon to be couple's present before Jackson was at her side. Thankful for his arm, the duo moved forth in to a dazzling array of camera lights only a moment after Victoria had secured the smile on her lips. People called for them to look this way and that, and the couple complied for longer than could ever be necessary, before moving up the steps to be met by more overly done decorations that looked like they cost more than Jackson's current donations were in this very room.
The present was passed to the staff, no doubt getting lost in a sea of presents that would mostly be overlooked, before they were shown through to the foyer where guests were waiting before the wedding would take place, being met with champagne flutes topped with edible gold glitter. As one waiter moved closer, Victoria stepped forwards to intercept the man, not wanting Jackson to be too exposed to the smells of the alcohol for another day.
"Do you have anything non-alcoholic, please? Senator Blake and I have opted not to drink tonight, we have to drive home this evening." She asked nicely, the waiter looked momentarily confused with the request -- apparently not many of the guests were so thoughtful? -- before he hurried off and returned with an elderflower cordial for them both to enjoy. The enjoyment would be short lived, though, on Victoria's part. She wasn't overly fond of the taste as she brought the two glasses back, but it was better than nothing.
Casting her eyes around the room, everything was almost the same. A number of older men with wives at least fifteen years their junior on their arms, looking like they would kill any woman who looked at their husband for much too longer. Expensive jewellery was everywhere, which made Victoria's own jewellery feel... well, even if it was Azalea's, it felt like another level in this moment, but that might have perhaps been Victoria's own worries of not fitting in.
"Spotted anyone we might have an interesting conversation with, yet?" Victoria asked with a soft laugh hidden behind her glass. The money on offer in this room was astronomical, and it was enough to make Victoria feel more uncomfortable than she could ever have believed possible in that moment. ________________________________________________

| Tessa had finished packing as she knew that she would soon be heading to Milwaukee. Even though she didn’t really know the bride and groom. She wasn’t going to stop that from letting her have a good time. Now she did know that they ran in the same circle of people. And since Tessa was now the owner of Fox Network, she had to take on that responsibility. Dominique was back at Hogwarts and that meant that she was focusing more on work. As she was now all by herself. Jackson would send text messages. But Tessa knew that he was still marrying Sasha. As she read about it in the paper. So she really wasn’t sure how she was supposed to feel. She was glad that her assistant took care of all of her travel arrangements. All she was told that she would love where she was staying. That is when her assistant reminded her to just relax and have a good time. As she has been working a lot. So this was going to be like a mini vacation for her. Tessa smiled as she was looking around her empty home. She knew that everything was going to be fine. And didn’t have to worry about anything. Her daughter was in school and her ex-husband was in prison. Which Tessa was finally glad that Damien got what he deserved. The flight to Milwaukee wasn’t all that bad. As Tessa was flying first class. And she did her best to sleep on the way. Because she wasn’t sure how much she would actually get. As she knew she would run into Jackson. Once she landed her then had a driver take her to where she would be staying. And her assistant was right as she had fallen in love with the place. It was Maderley bed and breakfast inn. This was a place that Tessa would have to come back and stay at. She was glad that she flew in a couple of days before the wedding. That way she could have a little rest and relaxation. And so she wouldn’t look as tired. But this was time to herself that she was going to enjoy. Because she really didn’t really leave her room. When the day came she made sure that she looked her best. She had found a dress that she just had to have. It was something that she would never have done. As she liked to always just go to her closet. But this wedding was something special as she was a single lady. Tessa made sure that everything was perfect from her beach waves that she put in her hair. To her flawless makeup and even her sparkle Marc Defang shoes. As she looks at herself in the mirror she knew that tonight was going to be good. Tessa knew that this was something that was important so she had to go all out. She then told her driver where she needs to go. As she was going to the Milwaukee country club. Tonight she was going to forget about everything. Maybe she would even drink but that was something she would have to think about. It wasn’t like she was driving so it would be ok. Once they were there she then got out and told her driver that she would make arrangements for him to come back for her. And she hoped that he would enjoy himself. As Tessa was going to enjoy this wedding and be happy. Even if her marriage didn’t work out she wasn’t going to wish bad luck on others. After she walked in she then scanned around the room looking for someone to talk to. As she knew soon she would be corned by someone who wanted something from her. Then she would have to talk about work. Which wasn’t really a bad thing but for tonight she wasn’t the president of Fox Network. Right now she was just Tessa Greene who happened to be a single lady. And she did promise herself that she was going to have a good time. https://www.promgirl.com/shop/dresses/viewitem-PD2108929 | |

| Thanks to the Journey duets and the fresh air, Jackson arrived at the Country Club almost in as good a spirit as he would have otherwise. He wholly joined his lawyer in casting judging looks at the over the top decorations and services starting from the valet parking to the edible glitter on their crystal drinking chutes. Judith may have been a bitch but she would soon be a far more wealthy one. And Wyatt clearly had left no stone unturned in pleasing his soon to be wife.
No sooner had Victoria inquired if he saw someone worth speaking to then a handsome man waved towards them, his wife an oddity among the crowd of much younger and far too bejeweled partners. There weren't many people with grace left in politics but Mitt and Anne Romney still held the institution strong. "Jackson, how nice to see you," the distinguished man greeted them both, leaning politely towards Victoria to give her a quick peck on the cheek. "And this must be your English fiance, well I must say you've stolen a royal crown jewel my boy."
As his wife extended a hand to shake Victoria's, Jackson took his turn kissing Mrs. Romney on the cheek before correcting the couple. "Mitt, Anne, it's my pleasure to introduce Victoria Newbury, head of my legal team. I'm afraid Sasha couldn't make it so Victoria was kind enough to ensure I didn't look like a dateless loser." A polite round of laughter circled the quartet before more light conversation ensued.
After a few minutes of chit chat, the Romneys moved on, and Jackson barely had time to grin at the Princess. the fact that republican royalty had approached him of their own accord must mean something good. Victoria had probably picked up on that too, and would look into their current projects to see where his campaign could align with them. As wealthy as Wyatt Jameson was, he positively paled compared to old money like that.
The next person to greet them was senator Orcazo-Cortez who -according to the latest news - was branding herself an independent these days. She hadn't had the courage to openly leave the democrats completely but in a few election cycles, they would be gaining a new set of legs in the GOP, Jackson had no doubt. The woman talked with Victoria about something to do with female health - an issue the man had little interest in - and then made superficial plans to have various assistants keep in touch. It was ironic really how much more at home Jackson had become at these events over the past five years. And ironically still he had Judith to thank for that.
The reception area they were in was clearly for mingling purposes, with drinks flowing freely everywhere and little siting room. So mingle they did, Jackson slowly realizing and getting impressed by how much Victoria must have studied up on the guest list to know the names of even the children of the people they ran into. More than once the witch mentioned a name he had never heard of, or congratulated a parent on their child's birthday, bar mitzvah or university admission. How on earth she could retain so much information was beyond him.
Forty minutes into their mingling, the soft announcement requesting the crowd's attention sounded from invisible speakers and the groom entered the room. Clearly Wyatt Jameson had no reservations about mingling with his guests before the ceremony. A polite round of applause greeted both the groom and his party and for the first time that evening, a genuine smile graced Jackson's lips.
For in the groom's party was non of the than his mentor and the bride's father, Michael Bloomberg.
"You now, now I'm really glad to be here," he spoke quietly, still surprised at how little he had to lean down to be close to Victoria's ear. "I've been meaning to speak to Michael for ages but he's been too busy. Let's hope he can spare us a few minutes tonight."
Their wish soon came true as the groom and his best friend and soon to be father in law approached them, Michael giving Jackson a hearty thump on the back while Wyatt went straight for Victoria. Instead of the polite kiss on her cheek, the bridegroom simply went for a full body hug, pinning the lawyer to him warmly with a slurred "Oh how I hoped to see you here today."
"Why Wyatt, wait to make a guy feel left out," Jackson objected, his mood still soaring at Michael's presence. Jameson could still ruin his buzz though the older man would have to work harder today for that to happen. Unabashed, the bridegroom moved to give Jackson a similar (albeit shorter) hug, but it was long enough for Jackson to smell the alcohol on the older politician's breath.
"Jackson, I was wondering if I could have a word," Michael began only for the raven haired wizard to grin.
"I thought you'd never ask. Victoria, could you please give Mr. Jameson a bit of company while he excuse ourselves for a few minutes." Without waiting for the witch's response, the two men walked off, heading towards one of the tiny standing tables at the very corner of the room. ________________________________________________

| The question she'd posed to Jackson politely had been answered within a matter of moments. Not by Jackson, though, but by the arrival of some very highly regarded politicians within the Republican party. Victoria might not have been fully in to politics at the time Mitt Romney was in office, but a good look through recent history within Jackson's party had given the witch enough knowledge of the man to recognise him and his wife in a heartbeat.
However, the American witch was caught off guard after the pleasantries of kissing each of the Romney's on the cheek was superseded with the notion she was the English fiance everyone was looking out for that evening. Victoria couldn't have said which part of Mr Romney's statement had brought the light hue of colour to her cheeks in that moment, nor would she think on it, either, as she opened her mouth to correct them politely, though, Jackson did that for her, leaving Victoria to smile politely as Mitt apologised for making an assumption of her in such a way. The conversation followed on politely, though, and by the time Mitt and Anne were leaving them, Victoria was quite sure they'd converted them in to something of a contact for future reference.
Jackson's smile was reflected upon her lips as they had a brief moment alone. It was a big thing, after all, getting to talk with the Romneys. Of course, they weren't done with the evening, as another person moved towards them gracefully. A most beautiful woman, Victoria had already noted that of Ocasio-Cortez from another spell of research, and a very, very talented too. Alexandria had been someone who had really touched home with a number of her ideals with Victoria and had made it up on to Victoria's 'must meet' politicians list. To say she was more than a little excited to be graced by the Senator, in truth, and couldn't help but be captivated by the conversation that ensued on female health after they had introduced themselves to one another.
Victoria had been gushing with her own ideas on the subject, and after they had opted to keep in touch, insisting they would get their assistants (or, Alexandria's at least) to get in contact, Alexandria left her with Jackson to go and mingle with other guests. Watching the woman leave for a little longer than necessary, Victoria rounded on her companion for the evening with a soft but clear instruction. "Pretend to look interested, even when you're not, it's polite."
The mingling continued on for what felt like a very long time to Victoria, recalling facts that were beyond useless was tedious work, but it worked in Jackson's favour. The smile that graced her lips charmed the other politicians gathered, and brokered friendships with people they might not otherwise have been exposed to. Playing to the weaknesses of any mother was slightly underhanded, Victoria knew, but just because this was a 'social' event in most people's eyes, it didn't mean she couldn't be working to further Jackson's cause and career by making connections through silly snippets of the other party's day to day life.
Jackson, of course, provided the party with the light humour he was known for, his dashing attire made the ladies eyes stay with him when he spoke, and of course, he was a good man to be around, and he knew how to charm the crowd. If they'd had a single moment to themselves, Victoria would have quietly told him that he was doing really well, but the witch made do with giving him small smiles of encouragement in between conversations.
The announcement through the speakers cut all conversations off, though, and Victoria politely offered to catch the lady she'd been speaking to after the ceremony to talk further, returning to Jackson's side and feeling rather thankful for a respite in all of the talking as she sipped at her elderflower cordial that was going a little warm now she'd been holding on to it for so long.
The sight of Wyatt Jameson made Victoria's skin crawl, though, taking half a step closer to Jackson to feed subconsciously off the safety that she felt around him. It did little to push the feeling away, but so long as Jackson was here, Victoria knew she was safe. Jackson had never allowed anything bad to happen to her, and she knew it wouldn't start tonight, either. The witch almost jumped out of her skin when Jackson's lips came too close to her ear, but she caught herself in time, taking in what her friend was telling her, and nodding gently to show she'd heard him.
Of course, the world could not grant them a moment's peace, though, as no sooner had Wyatt Jameson entered the room, he'd made a beeline for the pair of them with Jackson's old mentor in tow. Victoria barely had enough time to ready herself for their arrival before they were upon them and in the same moment, her slender frame had been pulled flush with that of the older man, crushing her in a hug that she most certainly hadn't consented to and had been more than thankful to pull away from as the stench of alcohol touched her nose.
"Mr Jameson," Victoria managed softly and politely as the man let her go, only to answer Jackson's quip with a similar hug of his own. Victoria's right hand moved across to hold her left arm as the men made small talk, quite aware of Mr Jameson's eyes upon her more than the other two who were talking, despite Victoria's eyes not being anywhere near his. It didn't take a genius to know what he was doing, but it was something she no longer had a say in if she wanted to keep Jackson's career heading in the right direction.
The worst of all questions came only a moment later, though, as her comfort blanket was torn from under her feet. "No... No, of course not, I'm sure I can manage Mr Jameson," Victoria replied, though she could not think of anything worse, she knew the conversation with Michael Bloomberg was important. Watching the men retreat away in that moment, Victoria had felt rather than seen her new assignment move closer in that moment.
"So, are you ready for your big day, Mr Jameson?" Victoria asked politely. "I'm sure Judith is going to look beautiful."
The room was full of people.
People much too intent on seeing Wyatt Jameson for him to get away with everything he would wish to.
But, in that moment, Victoria felt like the room was empty.
Save for him, and her. ________________________________________________

Tessa was mingling with the wedding guest. But she was only really wanted to find one person. And that would be Jackson as she had so many questions for him. As was wondering where that was going to leave them. But for now she was going to enjoy the party. It was on her list to try and find him. As she was walking around she then looked and finally spotted him. Finding him was something that was tough. But she knew that it was going to work out in the end. So many emotions was going through her now. But she knew that she would have to keep them in check. At least while they were in public. Once they were out of sight Tessa knew that she could share her real feelings. It seemed like he had dispersed but she wasn’t going to let that get her down. As she then noticed that the women that he came with was still here. Which she was sure that this was Sasha.
She then slowly made her way over to where the women was. But she noticed that she was with Wyatt Jameson who was the groom. And she was hoping that she wasn’t interrupting anything. Tessa wasn’t sure what she was going to say. But she knew that Jackson had to come back sometime. Tessa really wasn’t sure what she was going to say. She knew that she could find a way to be part of the conversation. She knew that she would have to put on the charm. As she now was where who she thought was Sasha and Wyatt. “ I hope that I am not interrupting anything important.”
Right now she was going to stay here till Jackson would get back. And then later they could have a talk about everything else. That was something that she didn’t think was to be said at a wedding. And she didn’t want it to ruin the mood.

| The world shrunk in to just the two of them, a loud thundering ringing in the background as Wyatt Jameson's voice battled to be heard by the witch. Victoria's eyes tried to keep to the man's, but repulsion brought them away, down to the ground, pretending as if she was not extremely close to having a panic attack as the groom lingered much too close to her person. There was nothing here, today, that Victoria could latch on to to ensure she did not slide away from the control she believed herself to have, and with each passing second, with each word that pushed the smell of alcohol upon her senses, the young witch could feel her grasp on the present trickling dangerously away from her.
Mr Jameson was speaking, but the words had long since escaped the witch, knowing only that he was looking forward to his next visit to her office. That, perhaps, he should come at a later hour, when she might have finished up her work, because she was busy, and he always felt like he was using up her precious time. How he wished to be more considerate to her, by not interrupting her work...
How long ago had Jackson left her side?
When would he back?
Victoria tried to focus, but her body would not allow it, her mind had shut off.
“I hope that I am not interrupting anything important.”
Light flooded back in to the room, the constriction around Victoria's chest burst allowing her to breathe more freely in that moment as her eyes focused not on Wyatt Jameson, but the person who had just joined them. It took only a moment for Victoria to recognise Tessa, the witch had not changed too much from how Victoria remembered her from school, and in this moment, she was the most welcome sight in the world.
"Tessa," Victoria breathed, so very glad to have someone here with her in that moment. "How wonderful to see you, I didn't know you knew Wyatt! Of course you're not interrupting us, Mr Jameson was just telling me about how excited he is for today's events, and marrying the beautiful Miss Bloomberg." Victoria explained, even though both she and Wyatt Jameson knew that to be the complete opposite of the truth, Victoria would not out the man for his true colours before his guests.
"Well, I should go and speak to some of the other guests. Miss Newbury, Ms. Greene." The older man acknowledged, before moving off to see the other guests with the slightest of adjustments to his trousers as he went.
Victoria's shoulders relaxed in that moment, before she turned back to the other witch, a soft smile on her lips. "You look beautiful, Tessa, I'm so glad you could make it, too! How's Dominique doing?" She asked, happy to make small talk with the woman that had just saved her from the clutches of Wyatt Jameson. "Jackson will be back soon, he's just talking politics with an old friend." ________________________________________________

Tessa was disappointed that Jackson wasn’t there. But it was nice that she was able to see Victoria. And she was glad that she wasn’t interrupting anything. “ Victoria and it is wonderful to see you.” Victoria mentioned something about how she didn’t know that she knew Wyatt. “ Yes Wyatt has been on Fox Network many times.” She smiled as Mr Jameson said that he should see some of the other guest. As they were all here for him and his bride.
Tessa seen that Victoria was much more relaxed. She was smiling when Victoria gave her a compliment. “ Thank you Victoria but you look beautiful too.” Tessa was glad that she was able to come. As this was like her own vacation and taking time from work. “ Yes I know I have been so busy. “ She loved it when Victoria was asking about Dominique. “ She is doing good. I know I have been worried how the divorce has been on her. And I am not ready for her to be a third year. As I know that she would have to grow up.” Tessa nodded when Victoria said that Jackson would be back soon. As he was talking about politics as she knew that the general were soon.
“ I hope that Jackson won’t be too long.” Tessa knew the wedding would start soon. But she knew that she could always see him afterwards. As she wasn’t going back as she was making this into a small vacation.
