But I don't want another job, I love my job!
And isn't this what you do when you feel strongly for someone else? You put their needs before your own even though you know it could be detrimental to do so? I know it's going to hurt me, a lot, to see Jackson doing all these things, but before any of these feelings blossomed, he was -- and still is -- my friend. I'm not going to abandon him because I've fallen... because of this.

I understand how strongly you must feel for him, Victoria. And I can also appreciate your conviction to stand by him. You've always been the nicest person I know but that often means you do things that are good for others and not yourself. I know you want to stand by him but at what cost?

Standing by him and being close to him might work for a while but you're ultimately setting yourself up for pain and misery. And I can't think of a person who deserves less pain and misery than you. Don't you think you deserve someone who would make you their top priority?

And, I know you're going to laugh, probably scoff, but Jackson... Jackson keeps me safe, makes sure I'm okay, and does make me one of his priorities, in his own way. You really don't know how much he's done for me since I came back to America, and bailing on him now would be a terrible way to repay everything he's done. So, no, I don't think anyone else would make me more of a priority right now.
I just can't explain why.

Of course I won't scoff at you for feeling safe around Jackson. I know - perhaps better than most - how important that is. It was why Josh and I... well, why we decided to give this thing a go. Because I've never felt safer around anyone than him. He... it's so hard to explain he doesn't just save me from physical dangers, its like he protects me from even myself. Every time I have a self deprecating thought, he's right there. As if he knows the dark road I'm about to go down and is here to steer me away from it...

I guess the question you have to ask yourself is one of reciprocity. Yes, I would probably keep a secret for him, but not because of my overwhelming feelings alone. I would do it because I'm certain he would do the same for me. Though we've never discussed this, I know without a doubt that he would keep all my secrets, and even find ways to view them in my favor because that's just the kind of person he is.
