Dress sense: Not very picky. He'll wear something as long as he likes it or someone convinces him to wear an item of clothing. It also depends on his mood or what phase he's going through. When not in school uniform at the moment he prefers denims, chucks, and t-shirts with a hoodie tossed over the top.
Likes: He has
many likes, more so than dislikes which is strange for some people. They fluctuate as he grows. There would be too many to name so here are some of the ones that are at his core.
- Anime/manga - he got into this when his best friend had become a huge fan and talked nonstop about it. Jurian decided to give it a go and actually liked some of them. (A huge chunk of his pocket money is spent on this!!!)
- Magic - Even before he learned that magic was real, he'd always been interested in sleight of hand, optical illusions, and mundane magic tricks. Learning he was a real magician was like a dream come true! He practiced odd things he could do and fell in love with magic all over again when he went to Diagon Alley for the first time and received his text books.
- Orange - It's a happy color and he just likes the fact that it goes well with so many colors aside from black.
- Fruit - just about any fruit except mangoes he doesn't like those.
- Autumn - Still have a bit of summer but not too much and it's not quite winter yet. Everything is pretty with the various shades of orange, yellow, and red.
- Doctor Who - Does it really need to be explained?
- Video games - Loves games like final fantasy that have a story as well as quests, fighting, etc
- Being a twin - He and Jasper would swap classes on a lark as well as to see how well the teachers knew the
Dislikes: These are those that have stayed with him since childhood and make up who he is. They like his likes fluctuate as he grows and experiences new things.
- RAISINS! - How could someone do that to something that had once been so yummy! Seriously, they murdered the grapes to make those gross things! And they looked like rat turds.
- Bismuth - It's nasty! Enough said.
- Cherry flavouring - after having cherry flavoured bismuth he can't stand anything cherry flavoured anymore!
- Winter - He thinks it's overrated. And cold.
- Bullies - doesn't like people picking on others just because of something they don't like about a person or 'because they can'.
- Playing sports - He's not very skilled and doesn't really see the point of most sports.
- Video games - Lack of save points or when you get boss fight after boss fight without the chance to heal his characters.
- Have a sibling - When Jasper likes to use his weaknesses against him.
Strengths: These are the three most obvious to him.
- Ambitious - Has a driving need to succeed in whatever he does even if it is only up to his standards and not others.
- Self confident - He doesn't let something that seems daunting stop him from at least trying.
- Indomitable Spirit - Despite his failures, he still doesn't let most things get him down.
- Responsible - While he may get into all kinds of trouble he'll own up to it and take whatever responsibility he needs to.
Weaknesses: The ones he'll admit to and are very obvious.
- Shinies - Very much like a magpie that he gets distracted and has to see what the shiny is.
- Naive - A bit gullible as he likes to believe the best in people. Has next to non-existent 'stranger danger'.
- Obsessive - He can get to be very obsessive when he's interested in something way past the acceptable point to where he'll go on and talk about it. Or in case of his homework, he has to get things, 'just right'.
- Ambitious - He sometimes goes overboard when he gets ideas then gets frustrated because he can't get them to come out right.
- Guilt - He doesn't like having a guilty conscious.
Positive traits: He might have others, but this is what he knows of himself.
- Friendly (usually) - Why be mean when you can be nice? Who knows how you can make someone's day just by smiling and being friendly? Unless it's a crazy person then you must avoid eye contact!
- Optimistic - Likes to believe things will work out and see the silver lining and the glass as half full rather than empty.
- Respectful - He tries to be respectful to everyone. Everyone should be treated politely even when they don't think they deserve it sometimes.
- Integrity - He doesn't allow others to sway his morals or what he believes to be right.
- Forgiving - He doesn't really hold a grudge and is open to forgiving someone.
Negative traits: He admits he has them and is
trying to work on them.
- Theft - has a habit of stealing things that don't belong to him. He claims them as keepsakes for memories.
- Fixation - He can become obsessed with something be it a project or a thought and it gets gnawed and over chewed like a dog with a bone when it should have been set aside or thrown away.
- Gloating - He can get a bit carried away sometimes and doesn't realize he should stop.
Jurian was born in North Manchester General Hospital two minutes after his twin brother Jasper. Both twins tried to walk before crawl which caused their parents some grey hairs. As they grew Jurian became interested in magic at an early age while Jasper was more into sports. They had fun confusing people about which twin was which especially during holidays when the family got together. Jurian likes that his best friend could tell him and Jasper apart but likes pretending to be him when either twin decides they want to fool their teachers.
The twins knew they were different aside from their differences when it came to their opinions and interests. Jasper kept it quiet for his twin's sake even though both kind of like that Jurian was different. It wasn't anything big at first, just that when he didn't want to eat his asparagus; it disappeared. Jasper was the only one who grasped that his brother wasn't actually eating the nasty vegetable. He tried to get him to vanish his too, but Juriain didn't know how to control it. That might have been what sparked his obsession with magic tricks. Jurian had been ecstatic to learn he was a
real wizard.
When his family found out when the letter came and the representative of Hogwarts it was tense in the house at first. They hadn't wanted to believe some of the things they were told and in the end decided that ignorance was bliss on some topics. In the end it had been Jurian assuring his parents that he wasn't going to change, he'd write many letters, and that he'd share what he was learning. There had been much pleading as well.

John grew up in a lower middle class family of five. He was never at the top of the class ranking but had passable grades. Unlike most kids his age he didn't really have any special plans or ambitions for when he grew up. As a teenager he got a job at a shop then when he was older as a bartender in order to have money until he decided to join his family plumbing business. He never bothered trying to go to university knowing he'd not be able to hack it. He met his wife when she had a flat tire on the side of the road. He waited with her until the tow truck arrived.
Margarete grew up on an estate and had always wanted something more. She made sure that she studied and got passing grades and even went to university for a bit .A friend told her about a job at the BBC that were hiring in her field. It was when she had finished her interview she'd ended up with a flat on the side of the road. She didn't have a spare or even a donut to get her to a petrol station. It was on the side of the road a man had stopped and offered to let her use his mobile to call a tow service as her phone battery was dead.
They had exchanged numbers and as corny as it sounds, it was history from there. They went on dates and found a lot of things they had in common and some they didn't. They moved in together and compromised as they learned to live together. From there they ended up getting married and then having the twins. During all their talks and plans for their children's futures, neither had ever believed they would have to consider magic into the mix. It had been a shock to all of them to find out that Jurian was a wizard. It caused some friction between the small family for a bit until they had their fears assuaged and learned to just adapt to this new spanner in their family. They have actually grown to appreciate that they would not only have a wizard but an athlete (Jasper was quite skilled when it came to diving and swimming.)
