Tessa.....

It had taken a surprisingly little amount of time for things to stabilize after Jackson's hard fought victory. Within the hour, the offices of Judith Jameson had issued a polite, hollow statement congratulation Senator Blake on his win, in another two, a generic press release had been emailed to every relevant print and electronic news source and within the next week, the lease on his offices continued in large parts due to the fact that Victoria had filed the paperwork for it well before she knew if they were going to win.

It was only in the aftermath of what had happened, when Jackson himself had accepted his victory, that he realized the Princess had just always known.

They hand't talk about it, and how could there. With his second term now technically under way, it wasn't like they had a lot of time. Jackson was straying dangerously close to the territory of doing something to justify running a third time. Gimmicks and such worked the first couple of times for the American people but the second and third ideally needed substance. Unless you were the former president of course. What Jackson would give to have that man's genius.

The only real break they had gotten was for Christmas, and then Victoria had announced her plans to go back to the UK for two whole weeks. Two weeks without the Goblin seemed like two weeks without oxygen but somehow, the office would have to do. Mac and Sloan were splitting their week to cover each one where the legal adviser would be absent and Jackson... He had wasted no time inviting Tessa over to Green Lake this year. She had been welcome to bring Dominique along but Jackson had understood when the Fox executive had explained how maybe Domnique was not quite ready to join in the fun. They would both probably have to talk to the young Gryffindor together and explain his changing role in her life.

Though his motives for calling Tessa over was to avoid loneliness, Jackson was glad he did in the end. She really was kind of prefect, he noted as they walked hand in hand on the beach of Green Lake's large lake. As always, the witch had been polite, charming and composed, impressing all she met. Half the town couldn't believe she was a member of the esteemed Fox core and the other part simply wanted to know how she did it. In the end, Jackson's own value had been raised by proxy because Green lake people believed you'd made it when you were dating someone form that high up.

On the whole, Jackson had been more than happy to show off his beautiful girlfriend to everyone, and had barely noticed when Merida had asked him how Victoria was doing and to remember to take back some Christmas pies for the kid.

Yes, right here right now, walking hand in hand with Tessa Green on the beach, was pretty damn perfect.

Tessa was excited because now she went public with Jackson. That meant that she didn’t have to hide it anymore. Even though this has been going on for a year. Now she was truly happy. Jackson had invited her and Dominique to Green Lake to spend Christmas with him. But she didn’t want to push her. As she was going to have to talk to with her with Jackson. So Dominique was going to spend Christmas at Hogwarts. And she was going to spend it with Jackson. With things that happened in her past was in the back of her mind. But she wasn’t going to let that stop her from being happy.

She didn’t mind that Jackson was introducing her to everyone. This was something that she was used to. Right now she was walking with Jackson on a beach. It was everything that she wanted. She would have to make sure to send Dominique her Christmas gift. As this was her first holiday spending without her. So it was going to be fine. Tessa loved how her hand fits in Jackson's hand. It was like they were meant for each other. She had hoped that this was the first of many. Even though they have been seeing each other for over a year. But now they were public.

Tessa was grinning as she was so happy. “ I wish that this would never end as it is perfect.” She knew that after this break they would have to go back to there separate lives. And she was going to have to figure out how they would make this work. It would be like before expect they weren’t going to be hiding. But right now she was trying not to think about it. As all she wanted was everything to be perfect.

Tessa seemed to be thinking along teh same lines too, making the politician chuckle. While he had never sat down and made a slit, this was probably one of the happiest moments of his life. He had won his election, he had a beautiful girl by his side, all the money in the world to play with and he was home. Because no matter how big the mansion in Milwaukee was or how lavish Tessa's LA house was, Green lake and Merida would always be home.

He wondered if this was how guys who had it all felt like all the time. Guys like Jake Newbury and the Clements. Ans had he finally "made it" enough to join their exclusive club?

"Who says it has to end," he teased, tugging at the witch's arm tightly to draw ehr closer to him. Wrapping his arms aroudn her so that his front was to ehr back, the man leaned down to nuzzle at Tessa's throat, making small noises of contentment as he did so. Her smelled of the beach, and of home, and he could stay here forever and a day.

"We can live on the beach," he offered between tantalizing throat kisses, nipping at the edge of her throat. "Become... beach people... Telecommute to work," he teased, his hands moving dangerously close to the waistband of her shorts unless interrupted.

Tessa grinned as she listened as Jackson said that this didn’t have to end. Which she knew that he was correct about that. But she knew that this day was going to have to end. And they would have to go back to their lives. As they no longer had to hide so this made everything easier. And Tessa was making every moment count. She then listened as Jackson said that they could live on the beach. “ That wouldn’t be a bad idea.” Tessa knew that she would love it as long as she was with Jackson. And it didn’t really matter where it was. Tessa knew that Jackson's hand was dangerously close. And she knew where this could end up leading to. Which she knew that this wasn’t the time for it. But sex on the beach would be something she could mark off her list.

She was still grinning as she knew that they could continue on this later. “ Yes, but wouldn’t the beach grow older after a while?” Not that she didn’t like the beach. She wasn’t sure how she would like living on it. But she was going to enjoy her visit. Two weeks with Jackson would feel like a lifetime. And it would only make it worse when it was over.

"Hmm," the man murmured against her skin, refusing to let the witch go even as her hair tickled his nose. the February wind was cold but not nearly cold enough to deter him for what looked to be almost inevitable the way things were going. His palms slipped downwards, squeezing the skin of her thighs in a very telling manner as his lips continued to shower her throat and shoulder with kisses.

"You tell me..." he managed to say in between, letting her go only for a moment before he turned her to face him, this time leaning down to kiss her squarely on the lips. "Will this ever grow old?" he whispered upon her lips before closing the gap once more, his hands returning to Tessa waist and lingering there. Whatever respond she had would be swallowed by his hungry kisses.

Tessa was enjoying the time. As she loved being close to Jackson. And she loved it when Jackson would shower her with affection. As she knew where this was leading. Now wasn’t the time for her. As she knew that there was something that she wanted to tell Jackson. But he was making it hard for her to stay focus. She knew later she could give in to her desire. But for now, she was going to do it.

“ I don’t think that anything could get old with you.” Tessa was trying to focus as Jackson was kissing her. She knew that it was now or she might not find another time to say anything. Speak her mind and then there could be more sex later. “ I think I am pregnant.” She then was watching Jackson face to see his reaction. As they have only been seeing each other for over a year. And Tessa was no longer married to Damien. This was something that they have never talked about. So she was a little nervous. It wasn’t like Jackson would live her pregnant. But she knew that they would have to talk about their future.

The man chuckled, hearing the answer he would have expected. He doubted anything with this woman would grow old too. Sealing the deal with another kiss, his hands moved towards the waistband of her shorts once more. Might as well christian the beach today, he figured, only to stop in his tracks when he heard the next sentence from her lips.

"I'm sorry... what?' he asked, hands freezing where they were as a nonplussed looked crossed his features. It took a few seconds for Jackson to properly process what she had said, and another few to think over if she was kidding. No, she wouldn't joke about something like that. Would she?

"Pregnant?" he repeated dumbly, his hands falling to his side, his expression still dumbfounded as the information tried to wriggle through his ears to his brain. "Like, with a baby?"

It seemed like the world stopped as Jackson was trying to wrap his mind around this. A baby was something that neither of them talked about. So this was something new to him as a couple. Tessa already has a kid so this was nothing new to her. “ Yes, Jackson I am pregnant with a baby.” She knew that he was in shock of it. And knew that he would come around. They both knew that they were going to go old with each other. But they hadn’t really talked about starting a family yet. Tessa knew that Jackson was going to be busy being a senator. While she was running Fox network.

It didn’t seem real when she said that she was having a baby. “ I know that this is something that we haven’t talked about.” And it was something that was bound to happen sometime. As they were always having sex like rabbits. So a baby in the picture was going to happen. It was something that decided to happen sooner than later. And Tessa would never abort the baby. As she knew that even if it didn’t work out she would keep it. Because Tessa knew that her chances of being a mom was starting to get slim.

"But..." he tried, once again trying to form words but failing. He understood the concept of pregnancy, kind of. He definitely knew how it happened. And yet when Tessa told him so... It seemed unreal. Was that all it took? Regardless of all the planning and caution and all that. "But we were so careful," he finally managed, stepping back to try and get some air. He didn't want to crowd her with questions, the last thing Tessa needed now was to feel like she had done soemthing wrong.

"I did the thing... and you were on the thing... and... we did it all..." While Jackson may not be attuned to the finer workings of pregnancy, he was always very careful, even with Tessa, even with Sasha. He had always been careful. So how...

"Are you sure?" he finally settled for saying, gazing to her midriff which looked perfectly normal sized to him. Surely if she was pregnant, she would look different?

Tessa wasn’t sure how Jackson was taking it. And it seemed like it wasn’t going as she had hoped it would. As she knew that he would be shocked. She then watched as Jackson took a step back. Which now she was wondering if she should have just waited to tell him. But it was something that she knew that she couldn’t hide for long. She was listening as Jackson was rambling about how could this happen. Tessa knew that be careful was something that could go wrong. “ I am not really sure how this could have happened. “ Tessa knew that there was a ton of reasons that could explain it.

“ I took one test and it said I was pregnant. And I was going to take another one just to make sure.” How she would love to have a baby again. It was something that she had missed. As she wanted another one but it seemed like Damien didn’t. Now she was wondering if Jackson was going to be the same. Maybe all it would take some time. And she was ready to give Jackson his space.
