CLASS: Spring Term -- History of Magic (Mimosa & Dominique)

One of the worse things about not having Mercy around was that Mimosa no longer had a confidante at the castle. Sure, she had lots of friends but no one she could really talk to. Even Dia seemed so busy lately studying for her OWLs that Mimosa barely got to see the Gryffindor. She had hoped that at least some of their prefect duties would be together but no luck there either.

Normally, the young Slytherin wouldn't have bothered Dia when the other girl was busy. But she really needed to talk to someone who wouldn't gossip. So she decided to track her fellow American teen by the History classroom. Mimosa hand't intended to go in but as soon as she saw Dia going on she waved to the Gryffindor and followed her inside.

"Where have you been? I can't seem to find you anywhere lately?" the younger witch whispered as she took a seat beside Dia just as the ghost teacher began to speak.

"Welcome, ladies and gents, to the Goblin Rebellion."

Dominique was doing her best to study for her owls and keep up with her perfect duties. And she knew that she had been busy and haven’t spent time with Mimosa. She knew that she was being a bad friend. But she knew that her friend would understand. And she hoped that she would be able to spend time with her soon. Dominique knew once it was summer both girls would be busy. And it would be hard to find time to spend time over break.

Right now she went into History of Magic class as she found it boring. But she knew that it would be on her OWLS. And next year she could drop the class if she wanted. Which was something that she was thinking about. But she smiled when seen Mimosa which she waved back. It was nice to be sitting next to her and it seemed like they were going to have a small chat.

Dominique was whispering to Mimosa and was grinning. “ Sorry I have been really busy with OWLS and perfect duties.” She was doing her best as class started and was doing her best to pay attention to the professor. But she also wanted to talk to her best friend.

Dominique knew that her friend would understand. As it seemed like most fifth year students were doing the same thing. And she knew that she would help her if she needed it. She wasn’t sure what Mimosa was saying. Rumors were something that she loved to avoid. As she knew that it would get her in trouble. So she looked at Mimosa and shook her head no. Professor Binn was doing his lecture.

She then watched as Mimosa grabbed her notebook. And she wasn’t prepared for what she read. If she was anywhere else she would have a look of shock. Dominique was doing her best to try to show that she didn’t know what to say. But she then let out a small whisper “ Oh my goodness.” And she said it so nobody else would know.

Dominique didn’t even know that Mimosa was actually dating anyone. But she then heard where it happened. And it wasn’t her place to shame her. As Dominique hasn’t even kissed a boy yet. But she was happy for her friend either way. “ Well if you both are happy then it was alright.” Actually, she had no idea what to do for Mimosa but she wanted to be there for her friend. Thank goodness she was able to keep quiet the whole time.

Truth be told, Mimosa wasn't sure how Dia would react.Would her friend be angry, upset, jealous or think Mimosa a terrible person? Mimosa herself wasn't even sure how she felt about it, thus the need to tell someone just so the young Slytherin would have a reaction to gauge off of.

The look of shock on her friend's face din't last long though. It was replaced by... calm acceptance. Dia wasn't mad or grossed out by what she had read. Instead she said she was happy if Mimosa was happy.

An unwarranted pang of bitterness ran through the witch at the thought of Mercy, who probably would not have been so calm had she been told the same news. Mercy who had just left her because..because she had seen something she wasn't supposed to. Mercy had made her position very clear. And Dia as still here.

Dia was her best friend.

Can we please hang out after class? I want to tell you everything.

Writing the note in the Gryffindor's book, she passed it over again. Now that she had told Dia, she could go back to listening to the ghost professor for the remainder of the class.

Dominique knew that she needs to be there for her friend. There was a part of her that was jealous because she hasn’t even kissed a boy. But she wasn’t going to worry about it. Because she knew it would happen someday. She knew that she was shocked and but she wanted to let Mimosa know that she was there for her. Later she knew that she would want more details. But she didn’t want to hear the whole play by play. There were some things that were best to be not known. And this was one of them.

Mimosa then asked if they could hang out after class. Dominique knew that she could take some time for her best friend. That is when she smiled at her and gave her a thumb up. She knew that Mimosa was going to let her go back to paying attention. And then she knew after class she would get more information. Soon it would be summer and she would be going back home. And she was excited to be spending time with her mom. As she knew she was going to do good on her OWLS as she was Dominique Greene.
