| It looked as if - under new leadership - Hogwarts was now all the rage. Or so it had seemed when Kit Harrington had endeavoured to look up the number of prestigious guest speakers the school has hosted this year. From diplomats to Chefs to celebrities, it looked like the school had become a lot more fun in the odd thirty five years Kit had left it. And he supposed that was a good thing. His granddaughter hadn't expressed an interest in a single job outside the castle the whole year which could only be interpreted as a blessing. Hogwarts had managed to do something he never could for long - keep Mimosa preoccupied.
When Addie Goshawk had sent him a letter at Furzcroft congratulating the artist on his move to the UK, Kit really should have known there was a catch. But in the end, he had agreed because Clara had made him. Not only was it a perfect excuse to see Mimosa (who had assured him she would not take his class because it would be "weird" and "gross") but it would perhaps give him and Jake Newbury a chance to... behave like adults as Clara put it. The young Auror's meeting with Kit and Clara had gone about as well as expected, which was not well at all.
But perhaps after the two months needed to calm down, they could come to some kind of semi permanent arrangement about the child that - Kit had to admit begrudgingly - was his. He would never do what Vanessa had done to him. He would never keep a daughter from her father.
So with a groan, the American had accepted Addie Goshawk's invitation to deliver a guest lecture on photography to the students. Whether the students would appreciate a class on the subject remained to be seen but Kit had made the preparations. Borrowing the Arithmancy classrooms, he had made sure to remove the tables and chairs first before waving his wand in the general vicinity, transforming the area into a miniature art gallery. The walls were draped with dark red material and pieces of art from his own collection hung in small, magical alcoves. A neat path was created throughout the room and its many new sections to guide the students on their very own journey through the landscape of photography and its evolution over the years.
At the door of the classroom stood Kit, dressed in a suit jacket and jeans (had to rebel somehow) awaiting his students. They would be instructed at the door before being let into their personalized museum for the day. ________________________________________________Come plot with me! <3

- Her schedule was full, and she knew that she shouldn't be adding more to it, but when the news of a Photography Class going on spread, Nerisei simply couldn't bring herself not to go. As a Muggleborn witch, who's mum was an artist, she's been to million exhibitions and art galleries. Art, in every shape or form, was part of Nerisei's life, and if she had a chance to take lessons on it, she would. No questions asked.
Photography was a modern way of art, and Nerisei had never truly experimented with it. She played music, she danced, she was, indeed, very good at painting -blame her mum for it-, but photography was never something she had tried. Though, many people insisted that one picture is worth a thousand words. And the Raveclaw witch truly believed this could be the case. After all, she was never good with words. Maybe photography would be another way to express her feelings, besides her music.
The class would be held on the Seventh Floor, in the Arithmancy Classroom, so Nerisei made her way upstairs with a big smile. On her way there, she bumped into Anne, who, once again, was too busy to attend anything. "I really doubt you've attended any lessons this year, whatsoever!" Neri was obviously overreacting, but she couldn't understand how Anne could be so busy with non school stuff all the time. After Anne promised to meet her at the Dorm later, Nerisei continued her ascend.
A couple of minutes later, she was outside of the classroom... along with the Professor? Shouldn't he be inside? The young with didn't recognise the man, but she wasn't going to be rude. Hopefully, though, he wouldn't be a moody jerk. Because if that was the case, she wasn't going to stick around for much. Giving the man her best smile, she stopped a few meters away from him. "Greetings, Professor." What else could she truly say?

- Dominique was beyond excited as Hogwarts was offering photography. This was something that she wanted to take. And she couldn’t wait to tell her parents about it. And was wondering if Mim was going to be in the class with her. She was going to have to wait and see. Right now she was going to have to get through all the of the excitement. Because now she was walking into the classroom. And seen who was going to be teaching the class. And it might as well been a celebrity in the wizarding world. Because the person who was teaching was Kit Harrington. She knew who he was because her mum . Then she started to follow his work. As he was amazing.
She smiled as she went and found a place to stand. As she knew that this class was going to fill up fast. “ Hello Kit." She knew that this was going to be amazing and couldn't wait to tell Mim if she wasn't taking the class.

- Sterling switched his bag to his other shoulder, scowling at the weight of it from how many books it held. He was legitimately considering just skipping the class. He didn't actually want to go, and it certainly wasn't required, and he had so much other work to catch up on... but he had promised his sister Valentina. Whereas Sterling's Mama was into all things music, Valentina enjoyed paintings, pictures, that kind of stuff. So, through the letters that they exchange regularly, he promised her that he would go and then write to her about it.
His sisters were all hardcore into different things. Seraphina loved her baking, Valentina loved her art, and Mathilde loved her sports. Of course, their father didn't approve of Mathilde's sports obsession, but he let it be because at least she wasn't Sterling. He shook the thoughts from his head, refusing to go down that rabbit hole at the moment.
As he arrived at the class he was surprised to see the professor was Kit Harrington. While Sterling personally didn't know his work, Valentina was always talking about it, and he had done enough research to know what he looked like and to buy his sister one of his pictures. He nodded to the man. "Hello, professor Harrington." He wasn't sure "Professor" was really the correct title for the man, but he was teaching the class, and it was more respectful to use a better title than accidentally use a worse one.
He glanced at the man's clothing, fighting back the urge to laugh. While he didn't know as much as his brother did about how to properly dress, he wasn't sure that would be appropriate attire for a teacher. He kept the amusement from his face, however, doing a good job of keeping a respectfully neutral face as he waited to see how the class would start. He ventured into the room, looking around at some of the pictures as he waited.

- Even if Sasha wasn't really that excited about photography but she still decided to take this class. She just figured she could learn more about it and well why not really. This seemed like a good opportunity to learn something new. Even yeah she knew how to take pictures but she could always learn something new here or new way. She is lately up to learn new things around her. She just tries to be focused on the school things rather than doing nothing or then new found hobbies like baking.
Anyways Sasha walked into the classroom and saw there Mr. Harrington who she had seen actually a two year back somewhere, at that book launch thing around Christmas time. She hoped he wouldn't really recognize her there now. This won't probably be a good idea. "Hello, Mr. Harrington," she said with a small smile and she did go to stand near Dia. "Hey," she said quietly. She was basically the only person who she really knew here right now. She basically knew Sterling too but then again she is more close to Dia for sure. Sterling, she knew mostly because of their housemates.
Sasha looked at the some of the pictures too and they did really look good she had to admit. She wasn't exactly sure what they will learn here but she was actually waiting for it. This class could end up being fun.

- When Mercy learned that Mimosa's grandpa would be teaching a class this term, she'd signed up right away. She didn't know if she was any good at photography, nor did she really care, she just knew it was going to be a fun class. They didn't have many art classes at Hogwarts, so she was excited to see what it would be like.
She'd met Kit Harrington a couple of times--he'd come into the shop the day she'd first met Mimosa, and he'd come to pick her up when the two girls went to Italy together--and she decided she liked him. He was really nice, and was always offering to buy stuff for them. He even bought her robes for her last year.
Mimosa had told her she wouldn't be going to her own grandpa's class, since she got enough of his photography at home, and Mercy understood that. That didn't stop her from going though, and she was fairly certain Dia would be there, so they'd have some fun.
She flounced into the classroom, waving excitedly at Mr. Harrington and saying, "Hi, Mr. Harrington! How've you been?" before taking up a spot beside Dia.

- The youth wasn't sure how he felt about this class. He'd heard there would be a new subject available, so naturally, Gaspard had to find out about it. When he learned what it was exactly, his enthusiasm had waned at first. After he'd thought about it for awhile it began to grow on him again. While observations and memory could be faulty, or influenced by emotions or circumstance, things could be missed or overlooked. Photographs was a way to capture that moment unbiased and for later recollection.
Heading towards the classroom, he went over what he knew about the subject, which when he thought about it, was very little. Nor did he know the person who would be teaching the subject aside from the fact that they had the same last name as Mimosa. That didn't mean anything either. There were plenty of people that had surnames in common yet were only distantly related.
Seeing a familiar face among the students, Gaspard gave a wave at Mercy and gave a polite incline of the head towards the professor. At least he wouldn't be alone in this class. Perhaps if he had any issues, Mercy might be able to help him?

| Kit hadn't really researched enough to know what the kids were being taught these days but he did know that as a student, he would have done almost anything to skip class in favor of free credits strolling in an art gallery of sorts. And it looked like times hadn't changed all that much as slowly, a small crowd was gathered at the entrance of his classroom turned museum. It was comical how Hogwarts still adhered to the House ideologies. The first one to show up was a Ravenclaw whom he greeted with a slight bow as a reward.
Next was a very familiar face that made the American artist grin widely, bending down to hug little Dominique. "Hiya kiddo," he greeted, reaching to muss up her hair most unprofessionally. "At least you aren't too cool to attend my lecture unlike your firmed." It was a playful remark, though Kit had hoped Mimosa would change her mind seeing as her friends were here now.
Next in was a young man who looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders, that backpack had to be heavy if it was making the Hufflepuff slouch so. "Take it easy, son," the photographer replied to the boy's formal greeting before turning to note the other students pouring in. One of the older girls made him stop for a while, stop and stare at ehr vivid red hair. He could have sworn he had seen ehr somewhere before....
But before he could think on it further, cheerful Mercy bounded in, making him grin once more. "Hey, the whole gang's here," he offered the little witch a high five before turning to the last few stragglers, amidst whom he noticed a serious looking Ravenclaw boy and a frightened Gryffindor in a black Hijab. He gave the Arabic girl a kind smile but it seemed to frighten ehr more, making her scurry to hide behind another students.
"Well, we might as well get started," he began, raising his voice so everyone would hear, even at the back. "Some of you have been too kind to me already, calling me a Professor when in fact, I never studied beyond Hogwarts." Let this be a lesson to the kids, academic success wasn't everything.
"I am however, an artist. And not a bad one either. Though I didn't come here to tout my own work obviously. No, i came here to talk to you about my lifelong love - photography." Kit paused, taking the time to survey the sea of young faces before he continued.
"Photography? But anyone can take a picture. Some of you take pictures on a daily basis. Does that make you artists?" The answer is of course, yes. Because to make art is to express yourself in ways that let others understand what you see... feel what you feel. And it is by no means limited to photography - that is just my chosen vice."
The man would let out a chuckle at the admission before ushering them into the door adorned with velvet curtains. "If you'll follow me, I've papered a bit of a tour for you all. A lessons on photography can hardly be delivered through text alone can it now?" His American accent was clear, and very Californians to those familiar with that region. No hint of his past English heritage remained.
As the students would enter, it would guide them to their very first exhibit, a large framed work of art poor in quality but lit by beautiful soft lighting. The work was encased in glass because unlike any other teacher, Kit hadn't simply gotten a cheap copy. He had brought the actual thing on loan from the University of Texas where it currently took place of pride in their fine arts collection. He kenw a guy who knew a guy.
"Who can take a gander at what that is?" ________________________________________________Come plot with me! <3

- Dominique grinned as Kit was here. And he gave her a hug. She didn't really care that he messed up her hair. She wasn't going to call him Mr Harrington or even professor. Even though she knew that he wasn't a professor. And she knew that he was part of her family. Well it a way that he was a good friend of her family. “ I wished Mimosa would have come to the class.” But she knew that Mimosa must of her have reasons. But she was still grinning. “ Kit I wouldn't have missed this class for anything.”
Now they were looking at a painting that was way out of focus. And it was like your mind was playing tricks. As Dominique was looking at it, trying to figure out what it could be. He then asked what they thought that it might be. And she was going to give it her best. “ Is it a painting of a busy town square?” She hoped that she got close. She wasn't counting on it.

- Mercy high-fived Mimosa's grandpa enthusiastically, then stood by Dia and gazed around the room at all the photographs on the walls. They were all really pretty. She wished she could take photos like that, but she didn't really have experience outside of her phone camera, and a couple times when she stole her Mam's camera and took funny photos of people's faces. They didn't look nearly as good as Mr. Harrington's, but she supposed that was to be expected, since it was his job to take pretty pictures.
As the lesson started, she clung to every word Mr. Harrington said. Even if she didn't care that much about photography, just the fact that she knew him made her want to pay attention. She even felt a little inspired by the end of his speech. She had never considered herself an artist before.
As he pointed them to a photograph behind a glass case, she leaned in closer to get a good look. It was really fuzzy, but she could just make out a couple shapes.
"There's a house," she pointed. "Ooh, and a tree! And I think another house," she said, peering at a shape that looked like a roof jutting out from the right side. "Is it rainy, maybe?" she asked, wondering why the image was so blurry.
